Sharon’s POV—

Duties? I asked, "What duties are you talking about?"

Aerila smiled at as if she was dealing with an idiot. She took out a paper from the table’s drawer and handed it to .

"Read it," she said. I observed her for a minute before turning my attention to the paper.

|1- Your status is invalid.

2- You shall work as a maid in the palace.

3- You shall follow whatever instructions given by your superiors.

4- You shall not complain about anything and do whatever ordered to you.

5- You shall only wear a maid’s uniform. No other clothes are allowed for your use.

6- Food shall be provided to you twice a day.

7- You shall be punished lest you try to do whatever you are prohibited from.

8- Your position will be the lowest of all maids.

9- You will address the queen of demons as ’Your Majesty.’|

What the fuck is with these rules? "These... r-rules are not right. You can’t do t-this with m-. Y-you have no right!"

Aerila smirked, "Are you saying this? Really? Right now, I am your monarch. I am your everything. And you, are just a maid. A human maid at that."

"But... what about the food? You can’t possibly tell I am allowed to eat only twice a day... it’s not fair."

"I am already showing you rcy and giving you food. Don’t make regret it."

"But it’s not... right."

She stood up, making take a few steps back. Seeming pleased with my reaction, she walked towards . The more she walked, the more I walked back until, my back hit the wall. She twirled a strand of my hair in her fingers. I had to raise my head to look up to her. Argh, what’s with the height of these heroines? All of them are like the Eiffel tower compared to . Towering over my form, she said, "Are you going to defy ?"

"Aerila—"

Angered by my direct addressing of her na, she slapped . A stinging sensation was all I could feel at the mont.

"How dare you! How dare you take my na with your lowly human mouth? You have read the rules, right? RIGHT?"

"Y-yes..."

"THEN DO I HAVE TO MAKE YOU READ IT AGAIN? ARE YOU AN ILLITERATE? HOW CAN YOU MAKE SUCH A MISTAKE?" Aerila yelled loudly. I could feel all the impact from her yelling as she was just right in my face.

"I am sorry." I was reluctant to say these words but there was no other way for to quelch her anger.

Aerila took a deep breath and tried to calm herself. Gritting her teeth, she said, "Don’t try to think anyone would save you. You are in the demon realm. Only demons can enter this realm. Even if they know that you are here, they won’t be able to save you," she grabbed my jaw, "I am the only authority here. Understood?"

I didn’t reply and it made her angrier.

"I ASKED TOU SOTHING! DID YOU UNDERSTAND MY WORDS?"

"Y-yes... I u-understand."

Aerila removed her hold from my jaw. She forcefully grabbed my arm and pulled with her towards the door. Opening the door, she pushed out of the room and closed the door to my face.

"Let’s go human. You have work to do," said the sa maid. It seems she was waiting for outside the door.

I looked towards her nodded my head. Even the stocks don’t go down this fast. Within a few months, my status plumted from the emperor to... a common maid. And if that wasn’t enough, my position is the lowest in the hierarchy of maids.

The maid said, "My na is Celle and I am the supervisor of all the maids. You shall address as, ’Lady Celle.’ Understood? And don’t even dare to nod your head at . You will use your words."

"I understood."

"Good," Celle smirked at , "it seems you left cheek is swollen. Did Your Majesty hit you? No, wait. No need to answer this. Just by your face, I could say she hit you. Alas! She didn’t use her strength. If she had used, you would have already dead." The regret in her words were making angry but I controlled myself.

"Don’t be angry. You should accept it as soon as possible because from now on your life would be full of misery until... you die." Her words were anything but ominous.

Entering the royal kitchen, Celle snapped her fingers garnering the attention of everyone working there. I stood beside her, trying to lower my presence as much I could.

Celled snorted, "I am here to make an announcent. Recently, Your Majesty have captured a very dear enemy of ours," she grabbed my hand and pushed forward, "I am glad to announce the human woman in front of you is that very human scum. Everyone... show so love to her, will you?"

Everyone’s attention turned towards . I flinched from their look. Hatred and disgust were prominently evident in their eyes. So of them looked at as if they wanted to skin alive. Celle pushed towards them. As she pushed so hard, I couldn’t control my balance and fell on the ground.

"After you finish here, you will clean the whole palace. You all rember one thing. Her hierarchy is the lowest and she is just a powerless human. Her powers are sealed by Your Majesty. You can do whatever you want with her. Just don’t kill her," said Celle. With that, she departed.

"You bitch! Get the fuck off!" said a maid.

"I can’t believe that Your Majesty left you alive."

"Maybe she wanted to give us satisfaction by making us tornt her."

"Yeah, she is very benevolent to give us this opportunity."

Everyone started voicing their thoughts and agreed as if their speculations were true. I sighed deeply.

Third POV—

Aerila was sitting in her office and reviewing so docunts. She put her docunts down and looked at Celle. She asked, "Did you do what I said?"

Celle nodded her head and said, "Yes, Your Majesty. I have done everything as you instructed ."

"Hmmm... what was her reaction?"

"She was afraid. Her face was pale. She knew that they will tornt her according to their wish."

Celle opened her mouth but refrained herself from asking sothing. Aerila asked, "What do you have in your mind?"

"Your Majesty, should you trust ’that person?’ I am not very sure."

"You don’t trust him." It wasn’t a question but a statent. Even Aerila didn’t trust him blindly. But it was him who helped her capture that ’disgusting’ woman. It was because of him... Sharon was in her grasp.

"I am sorry, Your Majesty. I shouldn’t have said that."

"It’s fine. I know what you feel," Aerila took out a triangular shape object from her drawer, "you are dismissed."

Celle bowed her head and left the room. After she left the room, Aerila lightly traced the thing in her hand. She pushed the upper corner and it went in, as if it was a button. It turned into a sphere and she threw it on the ground.

The space around her distorted and a small tear appeared in the space. It slowly enlarged until, it was big enough for a person to go in. Aerila got up from her chair and went towards it. Without any thought, she went in.

◆◇◆◇◆

Aerila had reached a new place. It was a room decorated with luxurious items but the overall vibe was dark and gloomy.

"It seems you have captured her," said a cool and distant voice. Aerila turned towards the owner of the voice who was sitting on a chair. He had light brown hair and his eyes were blue in colour. His face was heavenly. It was so tempting that anyone would think it was a sin to just look at his face. A very charming face that could charm anyone.

Yet, Aerila’s held had no ripples in them. It was as if the person’s beauty had no effect on her.

"Your vines worked. Did you make them yourself?"

The man laughed, "I did, but had soone helped a little bit. Why don’t you take a seat?"

Aerila asked, "I am not interested in taking a seat. My arrival is not for the purpose of agre talking."

The man nodded, "So, why are you here?"

"I am here to ask about the vines. Will you take it back?"

The man shook his head in denial. He said, "It’s your ability now. I can’t take it back."

Aerila frowned at his words. He never said that it was an ability. She asked, "You created an ability?"

The man’s eyes turned cold. He snarked, "You got what you wanted, right? So, I suggest you not to ask any questions. Just reap the benefits. Asking a lot of questions is not beneficial for you."
