Chapter 128: Chapter 126: The Archfiend, I Really Love You to Death
In the Cultivation World, might makes right, so fights and bloodshed are unavoidable. Even in this night market, which has only been open for about half a month, there have already been at least seven or eight altercations.
A sudden idea sparked in Celeste Grant’s mind.
She glanced at Javier Sinclair standing beside her, smiled faintly, and said, "You know, if these people love fighting so much, we should just let them fight to their heart’s content."
’My goal of becoming the richest woman in the Cultivation World is one step closer, HAHAHAHA!’
With that, she explained her idea. "I’m planning to open a fighting ring in the night market. Both the Immortal and Demonic Paths will be welco. That way, anyone with a private grudge who wants to throw down the mont they see each other can take it to the ring. As long as both parties agree, we’ll provide the venue and let them have at it."
A glint of profit shone in Celeste Grant’s eyes.
"Not only will we provide the venue for free, but we’ll also give rewards to the winners. As for the matches, we’ll have three tiers: Ordinary, Interdiate, and Advanced. The Ordinary tier will be for cultivators below the Foundation Establishnt Stage, and the Interdiate tier will be for those below the Nascent Soul Stage. The Advanced tier will be for those incredibly powerful big shots to fight in.
The winner of an Advanced match will be rewarded with one top-grade spirit stone. The loser will get three hundred ordinary spirit stones as a consolation prize.
The winner of an Interdiate match will get one top-grade spirit stone, and the loser will get two hundred low-grade spirit stones as consolation.
The winner of an Ordinary match gets one Mid-grade Spirit Stone, and the loser gets 100 low-grade spirit stones. Of course, if they feel a simple duel isn’t enough, they can sign a contract for a life-and-death match—we won’t be responsible for the outco. In short, the Bloodfiend Den’s main focus is to serve them."
Hearing this, Javier Sinclair understood her plan completely.
He glanced at Celeste Grant. "That’s actually a pretty good idea."
Celeste Grant smiled.
"You think so too, right? This way, not only can we attract more people to the night market, but there will always be people who want to watch a good fight. We can charge a small, symbolic entrance fee for spectators. We’ll provide so tea for free, but drinks and food will cost extra.
This is a night market, after all. If they want to eat sothing else, we can have our people run errands and deliver it for them. None of that will be free, of course. This way, we earn Spirit Stones, and they get their fight in. It’s the best of both worlds."
No matter how you looked at it, it was a foolproof business for the Bloodfiend Den.
Javier Sinclair glanced at Celeste Grant and put his arm around her shoulder. "Alright, let’s do it."
"Enough about that. Co on, let’s go look over there. It’s pretty crowded tonight."
As she spoke, Celeste Grant took his arm, and they strolled through the night market. Countless couples, male and female cultivators alike, passed by them.
It was late when Celeste Grant, still holding Javier Sinclair’s arm, walked out of the night market. Having co from the market, they slled faintly of barbecue.
Celeste Grant perford a Cleaning Technique, and in an instant, they were both fresh and clean again. ’Cultivation is so amazing!’
Just as they were about to head back, she subconsciously stopped in her tracks.
"Huh? That person just now...?"
She thought she saw an acquaintance. It was just a fleeting glimpse before the person disappeared, but she was sure she hadn’t been mistaken.
’Jocelyn Grant’s man, Silas Stowe.’
’What’s he doing here? It’s been a few years, now that I think about it.’
’This Silas Stowe doesn’t look like he’s doing too well. Probably because he practices that Evil Technique. One side of his face looks like dried tree bark, and you can even see the blood vessels. But... the leg he lost has actually grown back.’
’But this is the Cultivation World, where regenerating flesh and blood isn’t actually that difficult.’ So, seeing that his leg had grown back didn’t surprise Celeste Grant all that much.
’If Silas Stowe is here, does that an Jocelyn Grant is nearby? Ah, whatever, it’s not important.’
But...
Celeste Grant tapped her chin as she thought of sothing.
’I’ve been so busy making money lately that I almost forgot about the important stuff. According to the plot, a major event is supposed to happen in a few days.’
’It’s ti for
to go seize that opportunity.’
Thinking of this, she looked at Javier Sinclair and said, "Just wanted to let you know, I have to go on a trip in a few days."
Hearing this, Javier Sinclair froze.
"Where are you going?"
Hearing him speak, Celeste Grant leaned closer, tilting her head up with a slight smile. "Want to know?"
Javier Sinclair’s gaze fell upon her.
"Not really."
"Ooh, really? You don’t?"
Javier Sinclair fell silent.
Celeste Grant looked up at him and said in a low voice, "Going to miss ?"
Javier Sinclair glanced at her.
He wrapped an arm around her waist, pulling her closer.
Before, he was used to being alone and wouldn’t have thought anything of it. But now, Javier Sinclair had grown accustod to having her by his side.
So, the thought of her leaving made him deeply reluctant.
Celeste Grant smiled and gave him a mischievous look. "Why so quiet? You’re usually quite the talker."
Javier Sinclair put one hand on his hip and turned to gaze into the distant night. "What do you want
to say? The legs are on your body. It’s not like I can lock you up."
Celeste Grant paused for a mont, then burst out laughing.
"Haha, lock
up?"
She moved in front of him, lightly tapping his chest. "You’ve got quite the imagination, even thinking about locking
up... So, will you tie my hands, too? But can we really have a scene that you’d normally need a premium subscription to watch?"
Her teasing words might have conjured up a few scenarios in his mind, because his cool expression finally cracked.
’This woman is too bold.’
He blushed and squeezed out a single word.
"Nonsense."
Celeste Grant leaned in and whispered, "Actually, if you wanted to, I wouldn’t mind."
He clapped a hand over her mouth.
"You... shut up."
"My dear Archfiend, I just love you to death."
As she spoke, she grabbed his hand and kissed it.
Javier Sinclair glanced at her.
He only focused on one part: she had said she loved him.
’He knew it. This woman couldn’t live without him.’
"Although I’ll only be gone for ten days to half a month, I’ll still miss you quite a bit."
Seeing him remain silent, Celeste Grant grabbed his lapel with one hand. "So, daddy-to-be, will you miss ?"
Of course he would miss her.
But hearing her say that, Javier Sinclair couldn’t suppress a smile.
Javier Sinclair: "You know the answer, yet you still ask."
Celeste Grant said deliberately, "What do I know? I’m asking because I don’t know. I want you to say it. How would I know if you don’t tell ?"
"Give you an inch, and you take a mile."
She could do more than just take a mile. Her fingers slipped past his lapel, and she groped his chest.
"Take a mile? Like this?"
Javier Sinclair grabbed her wrist.
"Celeste Grant."
His Adam’s apple bobbed subconsciously. He grabbed her hand and bit it lightly.
Celeste Grant pouted. "Owie, owie, it hurts. It won’t get better until you kiss it."
’Fuck...’
"You asked for this."
The mont the words left his mouth, he reached out and swept Celeste Grant into his arms. Then, the two of them vanished...
