Chapter 127: Chapter 125: I’ll Be Back
「Two hours later.」
The elder from the Azure Sky Sect left the night market, drinking Spiritual Wine and eating barbecue.
He realized he couldn’t really bla his disciples. On this one trip alone, he had already spent several Mid-grade Spirit Stones.
He stared at the grilled squid in his hand and ate it with a furious expression, as if tearing into the flesh of those Demon Cultivators.
’So good!’
The elders from the other major Immortal Sects were in the sa boat. They had only intended to try a little, but once they started, they couldn’t stop.
"This is a plot by the Demon Cultivators! They’re trying to use these worldly cravings to disrupt our disciples’ Cultivation progress, or even destabilize their Dao Hearts. How vicious!"
Even they could barely resist, let alone those simple-minded disciples. They couldn’t let this continue; it had to be stopped. They absolutely could not let those Demon Cultivators succeed.
So, upon returning, these elders ordered the disciples of their Sects to stay away from the night market.
For the first two days, the disciples did indeed stay away. But by the third day, they couldn’t take it anymore.
They couldn’t focus on their Cultivation. Their minds were filled with images of all the food and drinks from the night market floating before their eyes.
’I want to eat.’
’I want barbecue.’
’Roasted Goliath Ram at... It slled so good.’
’And the Little Chicken Spiritual dicine Soup... I need to drink it, I need it!’
It got to the point where one disciple, unable to have his barbecue, actually manifested a Heart Demon during his Cultivation, coughed up blood, and passed out.
In order to quiet their minds and focus on Cultivation, the disciples started sneaking out of their Sects late at night, heading to the night market in groups.
The mont they ate the barbecue, their minds cleared, and their Cultivation levels unexpectedly shot up.
At first, the Sects tried their best to stop it, but when even the Sect Leaders started going, the matter just fizzled out...
「For the next half a month.」
The night market run by The Demonic Sects was a huge hit. Every night, countless male and female cultivators flocked there to stroll around.
Of course, with so many people, friction was inevitable. Fights would sotis break out over a single disagreent. But whenever that happened, the night market’s Array would activate, and the troublemakers would be forcibly ejected, treated without exception. So, relatively speaking, the place was safe.
Once outside, however, there were no guarantees...
「Night fell once more.」
Celeste Grant strolled through the night market, a barbecue skewer in one hand and the other linked through the arm of the man beside her.
Many people here used Concealing Treasures to alter their appearance to avoid being recognized.
The two of them had their appearances concealed as well. To any onlookers, they just looked like two ordinary Loose Cultivators.
"When you have free ti, strolling through a place like this and eating good food... now this is living."
After being in this world for so long, she finally had a nightlife.
She had never been in a relationship before she transmigrated. She certainly never expected to find a big shot from The Demonic Sects as a boyfriend after arriving here. And as it turned out, he was tall with long legs, strong, sturdy, and had a great waist.
The barbecue she was eating now was made by those Demon Cultivators, but it tasted almost as good as hers. They had truly mastered the technique, and their control over the heat was excellent. Plus, since the seasonings all ca from a standardized recipe, the flavor was delicious.
"Not bad. Their barbecuing skills are much better than they were in the first couple of days."
’Isn’t that the truth.’ She had seen it herself over the past few days. They had even started getting creative with the barbecue, adding many new things to grill, like the bizarrely shaped Abyssal Beasts fished out of the sea.
"These Giantfoot Octopus tentacles are nice and chewy when grilled. Slls great. You have so."
She said, holding the skewer out to him.
Javier Sinclair lowered his head and took a bite from the skewer in her hand. "Not bad."
’How had they never realized that these Demonic Beasts from the sea could be grilled and eaten? They were so fresh and delicious.’
Javier Sinclair said, "Within the territory of The Demonic Sects, there are dozens of areas of The Open Sea, both large and small. That should be enough."
Hearing this, Celeste Grant clicked her tongue inwardly. ’Compared to The Archfiend,’ she thought, ’I’m still a little poor.’
"Have your n switch up their fishing spots regularly. Don’t just keep harvesting from one place, or you’ll eat certain underwater Demonic Beasts into extinction. Also, release the small ones and let them grow. That’s how you ensure a steady supply of seafood every year."
"How did you even think of eating these things?"
「In the Cultivation World.」
Hunting Demonic Beasts was usually just for their Demon Cores or for materials to refine Magic Treasures and Magic Artifacts. As for the at, aside from Evil Cultivators who used it for their cultivation, most people just fed it to their Spirit Beasts. The at could be cooked, but many types of demon beast at had a strong, gamy taste that made for unappetizing dishes. Furthermore, Cultivators focused on their practice, and after they learned Fasting, they paid little attention to worldly appetites.
Now, however, they were discovering that eating could also be a pleasure.
After being properly prepared, even the gamiest demon beast at could taste so incredibly good.
Celeste Grant just smiled without a word.
’She ca from a nation of foodies, after all. Back in her old world, was there anything they wouldn’t eat? Even insects could be turned into delicacies. Take wild mushrooms, for example. Every year, so many people got poisoned from eating them, yet countless others would still take ti off work just to go forage for them.’
’And all for the sake of a good al.’
’That just went to show how important food was.’
’Ever since coming to the Cultivation World, she felt that the people here were so lifeless. All they knew was Cultivation, followed by all sorts of fighting and killing. It was so boring.’
’Was there any problem that couldn’t be solved with a good al? If there was, then you just needed a few more.’
Javier Sinclair walked beside her, gazing at the night market that stretched out as far as the eye could see, feeling a little emotional.
’This woman’s ideas were always so outlandish, yet sohow, she always managed to make them succeed.’
The night market run by The Demonic Sects was now a massive success.
Those who had been once ca back often, and those who hadn’t ca because of its growing fa.
The Bloodfiend Den had gained another source of inco.
Even Javier Sinclair had to admit, when it ca to raking in money, no one in the entire Cultivation World could compare to this woman.
"I feel like I’m living off a woman now."
Hearing this, Celeste Grant chuckled, a playful smile on her lips. She reached out, grabbing the lapel of his robe and pulling him closer to whisper,
"I’ll take care of you. Do you want to let ?"
Javier Sinclair blushed.
He instinctively glanced around and, noticing soone wolf-whistling in their direction, cleared his throat. "We’re in public. Behave yourself."
’What shaless words!’
’For so reason, though, he found it incredibly pleasing to both body and soul.’
Just as they were talking, they saw a quarrel break out not far away, and it quickly turned physical. Then they saw a Demon Cultivator get kicked and sent flying. His opponent seed to be a Demon Cultivator too; they had no idea why they had suddenly started fighting.
Then, the Array here activated, and the two of them were thrown straight out of the night market by its power.
From high up in the sky, a voice could be heard drifting down from afar.
"I’ll be back!"
Celeste Grant was speechless.
Seeing this, the corner of Celeste Grant’s mouth twitched.
"The Array that Elder Warren and the others ca up with is actually pretty funny."
It reminded Celeste Grant of a cartoon villain.
’That line is such a classic!’
