Luo Haiting asked anxiously. “What should we do?”
“What else can we do?” Dong Xuebing stood up and said. “Let’s go and take a look.”
Dong Xuebing walked in front. Luo Haiting and a few City Discipline Inspection staff followed behind.
A protest comprising around 40 people was a big deal in Fen Zhou City. It was rare to see protests in Fen Zhou City in the past few years.

Many leaders stood by their windows, looking outside.
The civilians had blocked the entrance, and the leaders could not leave. It ford a deadlock.
“Dismiss Dong Xuebing!”
“Arrest the corrupted official!”
“We will not leave until Dong Xuebing is dismissed!”
“This bad apple must be punished severely!”
The protestors shouted angrily.
Many staffs looked terrible as City Mayor Zhong Zhengwei was still in his office. The governnt staff were not stupid and could tell this protest was organized by soone. Civilians will never dare to block the City Party Committee building. It must be planned or incited by soone. This was not a surprise as Dong Xuebing had offended too many people in Fen Zhou City. Although he had resolved all the troubles, the grudges remained.
Zhong Zhengwei suppressed his anger and said. “Inform the police to settle this imdiately!”
A governnt staff imdiately went out to call the police.
Xie Huilan entered the office. She looked at the entrance before turning to Mayor Zhong. “I’m sorry, Mayor Zhong. My husband…”
“It’s not his fault.” Zhong Zhengwei shook his head. “Let’s settle the situation first.”
Discipline Inspection Secretary He Shuien entered. “Mayor Zhong, what should we do?”
“Disperse them first.” Zhong Zhengwei said. “Contain the situation and stop the impact from spreading.”
He Shuien nodded. This was their only solution.
Dong Xuebing and a few Discipline Inspection staff walked out of the office building.
The protestors saw Dong Xuebing and shouted louder.
“Dong Xuebing is here!”
“Get lost! Corrupted official!”
Xie Huilan’s face changed. “What are you doing here?”
Dong Xuebing caused the protest and will not hide in his office.
He Shuien frowned. “Go back into the building, Xiao Dong.”
Dong Xuebing apologized. “Sorry for causing this trouble, Mayor Zhong, Secretary He.”
Zhong Zhengwei replied. “This is not your fault. We know how you got your asset.”
The City Governnt staff and leaders knew Dong Xuebing was falsely accused and his asset was legitimate. Nan Qi Morning papers and his enemies incited the civilians to protest. Even if City Governnt investigated him, nothing incriminating would be found, and the civilians would not believe it.
Zhan Guiping also ca out. “Director Dong, let the Public Security Bureau handle it. Go back first. The protestors are agitated.”
Dong Xuebing looked at them. “Thank you, leaders, for your concern. But I caused this ss, and I must take responsibility for it. I should not hide from them.”
Xie Huilan said angrily. “I asked you to go in!”
Dong Xuebing refused to listen. He straightened his clothes and walked towards the protestors.
“Xiao Dong!” He Shuien’s face changed. “What are you doing?! Co back!”
Zhan Guiping quickly pulled Dong Xuebing. “Don’t be stubborn. The civilians are angry now. It will blow up if you go out.”
Luo Haiting added. “Don’t go, Director.”
Many Discipline Inspection staff were worried. But they were not worried for Dong Xuebing. Although there were around forty to fifty protestors outside, they were no match for him. He had fought against dozens of civilians before. They were worried he might beat up the civilians and get into trouble.
However, they knew Dong Xuebing’s temper well. He is stubborn and will not listen to others. So were impressed when they saw him walking toward the angry protestors.
Xie Huilan was worried and followed him.
He Shuien and Zhan Guiping looked at Xie Huilan and quickly followed them.
The protest was a severe problem, and if Dong Xuebing had beaten them up, it would be worse. He was representing the City Governnt as a Discipline Inspection leader now. The City Governnt leader’s reputation would be affected if he clashed with the civilians.
“Xiao Dong!!”
“Co back now!”
Many leaders called Dong Xuebing.
But Dong Xuebing was fast and reached the protestors.
The protestors got angrier. “You still dare to co out?!”
“People like you should not be governnt officials! You had used violence on many of us!”
“You received more than 100 million RMB of bribes. How can you remain in the Discipline Inspection?!”
The protestors scolded Dong Xuebing. He beat so of them up during the forced demolition of illegally built shops.
Dong Xuebing did not say anything and listened to them quietly.
They finished scolding when Zhong Zhengwei, He Shuien, Xie Huilan, and other City Governnt leaders caught up with Dong Xuebing.
Dong Xuebing looked at the protestors and said. “Are you all done? I have t so of you before. You said I used violence on civilians. Are you referring to the illegal store owners in Nan Shan District Liu Xiang Hutong? I admit I had beaten up so of you. But you should know what happened. You all were ard with wooden poles and knives. If I don’t retaliate, what are my n going to do? Do you think I will stand there and see you all beating my n to death? Do you think it is possible? Let’s talk about my asset. Yes, I have more than 100 million RMB. I got it from winning the lottery, and every cent is legal. The City Party Committee and Discipline Inspection’s websites have declared this before. I am not afraid of any investigation and have never done anything wrong!”
“Stop lying!”
“You are full of lies!”
“Who knows if your lottery ticket is given by soone who bribed you?!”
“Don’t tell us these! People like you are unqualified to be a leader!”
Everyone continued to scold Dong Xuebing. The protestors wanted him to be dismissed.
Most of the protestors were people who had conflicts with Dong Xuebing before. More civilians, who had read Nan Qi Morning Papers, joined in, and the protest grew to around sixty people.
Dong Xuebing listened to their scolding and replied calmly. “I am not afraid of what you all say, and I can explain everything. But can you all leave this place first?”
“We will not leave until you are dismissed!”
“Don’t trust the governnt officials! They are good at telling lies!”
“That’s right. He had taken away our hard-earned money! People like him should be chopped into pieces.”
“Let’s beat him up! Since the governnt will not do anything, we will punish him ourselves!”
Protesting was fine, but not many dared to beat up a governnt leader. A few protestors took the lead, and the rest followed. They surrounded Dong Xuebing and shouted angrily.
Xie Huilan shouted. “Xuebing!”
Luo Haiting panicked. “Director!”
It was tense. All the leaders and staff worried Dong Xuebing might beat up all the protestors.
More than sixty people….
Many elderly, won, and children were among the protestors. Everyone knew about Dong Xuebing’s combat abilities, and these people were no match for him.
Finally, an old lady threw a tomato at Dong Xuebing.
Dong Xuebing did not dodge and remained still.
The other protestors saw it and started throwing things at him.
Eggs, vegetables, etc., were thrown at Dong Xuebing. Soone even threw a rock at his head.
Blood flowed from Dong Xuebing’s head, but he remained still.
“Let’s beat him up!”
“Let’s go, everyone!”
Many of the protestors had heard of Dong Xuebing’s extraordinary combat skills. They beca bolder when they saw him not retaliating.
Xie Huilan’s face changed. “Stop!”
Luo Haiting ran forward. “Stop! Everyone stop! Director! Get out of there, quick.”
He Shuien’s face changed when he saw the blood on Dong Xuebing’s face. “Xiao Dong.”
No one expected Dong Xuebing to remain still. They knew it was not because he was scared of the civilians. He stood still because he did not want to fight against these civilians.
Dong Xuebing was punched, but he turned to Xie Huilan and the rest. He waved his hand as if nothing had happened. “Don’t co near . I am fine. I will not die from this.”
