Andras and Plauros were both hunted down.
As soon as the knights returned to the Empire, they spread the glorious news to the world.
Despite the appearance of two powerful demons, thanks to swift action and support, they were successfully eliminated with no significant damage. This proved humanity's resilience once again. Of course, the "support" from Leton was conveniently left out of the story.
The average citizens... and the otherworlders, upon hearing this, had their own reactions.
[What the hell is this? Was there an event?]
[When did they even capture demons?]
They were wondering when these demons were captured. The demons didn’t even appear in the Empire's territory, and there was no major disaster to speak of. Only rumors about demons appearing in so distant region had circulated, and no additional news had followed.
And then suddenly, two demons were slain, and it was all taken care of. From a player’s perspective, it was completely ridiculous.
[The ga company is really just throwing events without letting the players in on it, lol]
At least announce the hunt!
We want to see the demons too!!!
[There was an event, though.]
[The knights think otherworlders are too weak to be of any use~]
[LOL. If you want to participate, go defeat one yourself.]
Thanks to this, complaints were flooding the community once again. After all, Demons Saga had a history of leaving players out of important events.
It seed like the story just progressed regardless of the presence of otherworlders. Though the ga’s high degree of freedom made it hard to complain, it was hard not to feel alienated when the players were left out of such significant events.
Demons Saga had been open for 20 months now, and many demons had appeared. But not a single demon had been taken down by otherworlders.
Alongside the complaints, there was growing curiosity in the community.
Who exactly were these “supporters” ntioned by the knights?
The knights were undoubtedly strong, but demons were even more powerful. And two of them appeared at once, so there must have been so very powerful support behind it.
Unfortunately, the announcent from the knights didn’t include any of this information. But it didn’t matter much. The greatest strength of otherworlders was, after all, their information-gathering ability.
A few otherworlders who were close to certain knights subtly inquired and soon found out the truth: the otherworlder Yor had participated in the hunt.
[Why the hell was he there??]
[This is so out of nowhere]
[No wonder he’s been quiet lately]
[He was there? lol]
The first reaction from the players was, of course, surprise. The knights and Yor didn’t exactly seem like they’d be a match, after all.
When attention suddenly turned toward him, he was quietly going about his business.
“Ugh, this dust.”
The first thing I did when I got ho was clean. After being away for over a month, the dust that had accumulated was insane.
The dirt blown in by the wind and the leaves had caused chaos inside. That wasn’t the only thing, though.
“These bastards! Having a sex party in my house!”
Thud, thud, thud, thud!
While I was away, so unwanted guests had moved in. Around ten mutated rabbits had set up camp in my cave, holding a massive orgy.
No matter how cozy and atmospheric my cave was, I never expected it to be used as a brothel!
“Get out now!”
Of course, I imdiately kicked them out. There was no way I would let them desecrate my sacred ho.
For the next two days, I cleaned both the house and the surrounding area.
Afterward, I made my way deeper into the cave. As I spoke with Odilia, I recalled sothing else—there was soone at the very end of the depths waiting for .
“It’s late! You, the one who said you’d visit often, made wait like this?”
“Two months isn’t that long, is it? Besides, for a demon, that’s nothing.”
Though this particular demon was strange, only having a head, I couldn’t help but think of them when I heard the news about the reward for locating the altar.
“So, if I find the altar, I get a reward...”
That thought imdiately led to this demon. Though they were insignificant right now, they had once been a threat to humanity.
“You rude thing...! If I descend, you’re the first one I’ll punish!”
See? They’re still threatening in that scary way.
I was aware I was committing a cri. After all, as an otherworlder, if I was caught hiding a demon, I’d be executed. Thankfully, I didn’t feel guilty about it because I’d been living as a criminal for a long ti. Still, if I got caught, I’d be in big trouble.
“...Hmm? Why are you staring at like that?”
“I’m debating whether I should sell you off or just leave you be.”
“W-What?”
For a mont, Barbatos’s green eyes wavered. She looked at with a concerned expression and asked.
“Didn’t we already end that conversation?”
“Well, if I sell you, they’ll pay .”
Of course, I wasn’t actually thinking of turning her in.
I didn’t need the money, and I knew she had a lot of information I didn’t have.
“Well, whatever. By the way, I t Andras and Plauros recently...”
“...What? You t those two nuisances?”
“Oh, I see, being from the demon realm, you know them?”
“Of course I know them. I run into them every ti I go back and forth. And every ti, they’re making a disgrace of themselves... It’s so annoying.”
Sure enough, their love affair was the sa in the demon realm. As I fed her a sausage bun I bought in the city, I asked her.
“Back and forth, huh... Speaking of which, which faction do you belong to? Are you serving Amon, the fire king?”
“Ugh, ugh... Wait... Don’t push it in, it’s hard to eat!”
After taking a bite of the bread, she answered.
“Amon? I would never serve such a crazy fire king. And I’m not even close to fire.”
Apparently, only those with a strong affinity for fire could live in Amon’s domain.
She was soone who often kept secrets, but during our conversation, she couldn’t help but spill a few pieces of valuable information.
After chatting with her, I made my way out of the depths.
...A week passed like this.
I hunted as usual, caught up on so tasks, and took so ti to relax. It was like returning to everyday life.
Though I felt a bit empty without my usual spear... it still felt good to finally rest.
While I was enjoying this peaceful routine, a package arrived for .
It was from the knights.
Inside were so severed parts of Andras’s tal body, so holy water, and quite a bit of gold. They sent it as a reward for the demon hunt.
It was quite a generous offering, probably to solidify our relationship.
Though the amount of Andras’s tal was small...
‘Well, I can’t complain.’
I accepted it. After all, it was a rare item, so they couldn’t afford to give too much away.
I decided to appraise it using the “Player’s Eye,” utilizing the power of the otherworlder next to .
[Andras’s Hell Iron]
A rare tal produced only in certain regions of the demon realm.
It has extrely high heat resistance. It doesn’t lt even when subrged in fire.
It also retains the power of the demon Andras, so if mana is infused, it can conjure flas.
Sadly, nothing like what happened with Nikki occurred when I held this item. I wasn’t the demon connected to it, after all.
But even without that, it was still an excellent item. A tal that could create fire at will—perfect for my new weapon after my spear broke.
I planned to make a custom weapon out of it. I’d make sure it would last for a long ti.
For that reason, I decided to go to the city today.
I needed to sell off the stock that had piled up and find a blacksmith.
Of course, I could have left this to a proxy, but I wasn’t going to do that.
‘I have my identity tag now.’
I had used it once in a remote domain, but now, I was going to try it in one of the Empire’s large cities. I couldn’t miss this exciting opportunity.
“Are you sure you don’t want to cast an illusion on like last ti? I’m still not sure about the hood.”
“It’s fine. The guards will just let you pass now.”
The person accompanying was Im Haneul. She had shown around the city before, and she was the only one with free ti to join .
“...”
I glanced at her for a mont. It seed like her level had risen significantly over the past few months, and her outfit had changed a bit.
She used to wear just a black robe and a witch’s hat, but now, she wore a slightly more revealing robe with a V-neck around her shoulders and neck.
I couldn’t help but glance at the deep V-neck for a mont.
The gravity around there was especially strong, so my gaze couldn’t help but be drawn.
“Hmph.”
But I quickly cleared my throat and pushed my lecherous thoughts aside.
I acted casual and said, “Let’s go then.”
With that, we headed toward the city for the first ti in a while.
This ti, we would be entering through the main gate with confidence.
