As he went to collect the Hall of Fa entry reward of 300,000 Gold Essence Coins and received it, the Duraian group and Jadelight group arrived.

"Hey, John. How about so duels? You can even bet so things on the fight and take all if you win," Rodin Jadelight said.

"We planned to enter the Arena even if you didn’t say that." Kenil snorted.

Reena grinned and added. "Show us your Pet Monsters this ti."

"Sure. Let’s go." John shrugged with a nonchalant expression. "I don’t mind winning so more stuff."

Both groups went to the top floor and then went to one of the four big arena rings floating around the building via the flying elevator. Each one could house up to 50,000 people, and they were big in size, with plenty of space dedicated to the battleground as well.

Food and Drinks were available at four stalls in four corners.

Entry fees for the arena depended on the individual’s rank.

Bronze-rank Tars must pay 10 Bronze Essence Coins, Silver-rank Tars must pay 10 Silver Essence Coins, and so on, up to Emperor-rank.

And if one wanted to participate in a battle, the extra fees of 100 Essence Coins, respectively, of their ranks would apply per battle, though Bronze-rank Tars were not allowed to fight.

John paid 100 Gold Essence Coins to enter the queue, but his turn was just next so there wasn’t much wait.

"Any specific opponent or random?" the staff asked.

John looked at Kenil.

"Random," Kenil answered. "Brother John, just show what you are betting, and you’ll get challenges. You can accept one of the challenges of your choice."

"So what are you betting?" Rodin asked, curious.

"Hmm..." John rubbed his chin, thinking about what he should use as betting.

’It has to be jaw-dropping, so...’

[ Jibril: How about an Emperor-rank resource? Or a Sovereign rank? The opponent must also bring out an equally valued bet if they want your bet, so you’ll get big.]

[ Azelis: Or, you can bring out sothing new and get more value from the opponent. ]

[ Jibril: True. Like one of those Soul Technique selection boxes and such. ]

’Nah, I don’t want to spread the existence of those selection boxes to many people. But I can make do with so artifacts or exotic items. Spirit Artifacts are only found in Special Dinsional islands as they are birthed by spirit phenona, but I can buy them from the shop at highly varied prices according to their effects. They are rare and valuable, costing a fortune here, but I can buy them cheaply.

’The only caveat is that good ones rarely appear in the shop after many refreshes, but I can live with that.’

’And found it.’

John was looking at the shop and refreshed so tis before finding a good artifact—Cost: 113,000 Xhal Drops.

[Pulse of Emberheart Ring]

[Rank]: Special

[Effect]:

—> Upon getting damaged by a Fire-type attributed attack, gain Fla Resistance equal to 50% of your Soul Power and increase the potency of your Fire-type attributed skills by 50% of their original potency for 1 minute. Cooldown: 1 hour.

Waving his hand, John brought out the ring.

"Here, I bet this artifact."

"What? Artifact?"

Everyone was stunned.

They looked at the ring, sensed its aura, and gulped.

It was a darn artifact!

"Here’s what it can do," John said with a grin as he snapped his finger and created a manual screen displaying the Na and Effect using his Bloodscript and tal Mastery.

Everyone read it and sucked in a breath.

"Is this for real?"

"What’s going on here?"

The surrounding people also took an interest as they saw the description screen.

"Brother John, are you sure you want to bet this?" Rodin asked as a glint passed through his eyes.

"Of course." John smiled.

"Well then, expect to challenge you as well." Rodin grinned.

"Sure."

’That artifact seems expensive. It can even be useful to Sovereign-rank Tars since it’s not rank-restricted, right? Are you truly sure about this?’ Reena magic whispered to John.

’Yes. Unlike the ranked artifacts, even Sovereign-rank Tars can get Fla resistance equal to 50% of their soul power, and also gain fla-type potency boost as ntioned in the description.’

’And I am sure about this because I won’t be losing the battle of my choice.’

’Alright.’

John handed the ring to the staff and said, "Check the artifact’s effect. This is my stack."

The staff wryly smiled. "As you wish."

The staff called soone, and soon, a King-rank Tar arrived.

He wore the ring and said, "Anyone with fire mastery, attack a bit."

"Leave it to ," Kenil said as he snapped his finger, using his Soul Technique as a badass flaming gauntlet appeared in his hand with a circular chanism ring that extended into a spear, which he grabbed.

"Here it cos."

Kenil slightly exerted his physical force and shot his Infernal Spear at the King-rank Tar.

Boom

The spear exploded in a fiery whirl, but nothing happened to the King-rank Tar as he had put a simple soul energy coating around him.

The ring still activated as a faint sparkling fiery aura enveloped the King-rank Tar.

"Again," the King-rank Tar said as he nodded at Kenil.

Kenil conjured another spear again, and this ti, it suddenly flared up more strongly, releasing a burst of blaze from its back before it shot at the King-rank Tar like a bullet.

But everyone could clearly see that the fla resistance aura ate up the entire spear as it dispersed shortly upon impact, even though it was stronger than the first spear.

"Now, let’s see the buff." The King-rank Tar raised his hand as a flaming orb was conjured on his palm, which faced the sky.

The orb beca compact and more powerful, increasing the heat in the surroundings slightly.

A second later, he shot it in the sky.

Streaking far up, the fireball exploded in a burst of fancy fireworks.

The King-rank Tar nodded. "It’s confird. The potency of this release was increased by 50% from the ring."

"And it lasts for one minute straight. This ring is too powerful!"

"Is he really betting this?"

"Madlad."

Naturally, the people were attracted to the commotion, and word got around fast as they watched the shot, so many already knew before the announcent was even made about John and his stack.

Soon after two minutes, the ongoing battle between the two King-rank Tars ended.

The majority of the audience was focused on the match, as only one part of the arena stage knew about the next fighter.

"Ladies and gentlen. We have a rather stacked fighter entering the arena next."

"Let’s welco, John Wicked!"

John arrived on the stage.

The audience had varied reactions, but John was just leisurely walking towards his destination, taking his ti while his focus was on his inner eye that was in the Monster Paradise.

"Hmm, who should I choose?"

"! Boss, you gotta choose !" Cheron jumped in excitent, his three heads shouting simultaneously.

"Milord, please allow to win glory for you."

"Damn it. Stop with your royal speech, Ophis. Boss, you know I am toughest and strongest," Crocky said as he stood on his two legs and patted his chest.

Sony sneered. "You were boiled and roasted. So-called tough guy, sit down. It’s Slytherex’s turn.

"Right, Master?" Sony looked at John with big puppy eyes.

John grinned. "You five are my strongest Gold-rank currently. So I’ll leave it up to you. Let’s do one ga of rock-paper-scissors and one ga of dice rolling to decide who among you will be chosen."

John wasn’t going to fight himself this ti. Since he put the stack, it was up to him to decide what kind of battle he would fight.

And he planned to do a simple 1v1 duel of Pet Monsters with no help from Tars aside from giving strategic command support—communication.

"Oh yeah, let’s make this a live event."

John consud so Molding Essence and created giant live screens in the skies for all the Monsters to see the upcoming fight outside.

Shortly after, each monster also received a big tub of popcorn and a at dish.

Howls, roars, and cries of excitent echoed along with the praises of John as the Monster Paradise beca lively.

anwhile, the audience outside received a jaw-dropping announcent.

"John Wicked here is stacking this artifact on this battle—Pulse of Emberheart Ring."

"The ring’s effect has been confird by a King-rank Tar just now, and here they are. Please take a look."

Four giant blue screens appeared for the audience by the arena’s tech staff to see the description of the ring, which John naturally provided them.

As everyone read it, the inevitable uproar rang in the whole arena.

Such a bet by a Gold-rank Tar was unheard of, but here it was.

"I challenge you, John Wicked! I bet 5 Sovereign-rank resources and 50,000 Sovereign Essence Coins," Rodin Jadelight shouted as his voice rose over the commotion.

"Keep dreaming, Rodent of Jadelight!"

A mocking shout rang from the north part of the arena.

"John Wicked, I, Voranzo of the Skyban Sect, challenge you. Against your stack, I put 5 Sovereign-rank Resources and 100,000 Sovereign Essence Coins."

’Such an artifact to appear here? We can’t let this chance go. Zushi, inform the sect to prepare the fund imdiately.’ Voranzo relayed to his peer nearby, who had already started making contact.

"This is going to attract more of those bastards and bitches," Kenil said with a frown.

Reena wryly smiled. "He put out such an artifact, it was bound to happen."

Indeed, imdiatly after that, Magnus Coin Consortium’s Gold-rank prodigy also arrived with the group and challenged John.

With fast communication via the Digi-watches, the arena started filling up while more people challenged John.

anwhile, John wasn’t even paying attention to any of it. He auto-walked, arrived on the left part of the 150-ter radius crater-type battleground, and stood there with a carefree smile at a forty-five-degree angle while his conciousness was in Monster Paradise.

"Alright, last round of the dice ga."

Everyone rolled the dice twice and counted the sum of their numbers.

Now, the third and final round was starting.

In the end, the one with the highest sum of numbers would win.

"I got eight! Fuck yeah!"

"Four...but I won twice in five rounds of rock, paper, scissors, so that’s twenty points...

"Ten! I got ten!"

Who won?
