"So, John Wicked. Whose the challenger that will fight you? Make your choice."
"Before I choose that, allow to explain the type of duel I will be doing," John said with a smile. "It will be one versus one duel between mine and my opponent’s pet monster."
"A single battle to decide the owner of the grand rewards. Now, who is up?"
As more groups of the top eleven forces arrived, they all challenged John.
But of course, if he was going to win juicy rewards from a force, it would have to be the Lockham family!
"You, I like your stack. Co on," John said as he looked in the direction where the Lockham family’s group shouted.
From the group of seven Gold-rank Tars of the Lockham family, the leader who had shoulder-lengthed dark-green hair jumped and arrived on the battleground, landing thirty ters across John.
"Now, please take out the Monster you are going to choose for the one versus one duel." The anchor spoke.
"Behold, my strongest Gold-rank Pet," Honik Locham said with a prideful expression as he waved his hand, and a light shot out that transford into a giant Smolder-Winged Ghostblue Longhornian, an insect-type Monster resembling a beetle with so extra fancy carapace, smoldering with lava pattern as well as wavy ghastly blue patterns on its shell.
A single long horn at its front had a twin-colored fla lit up on it as this monster overall looked nacing.
It floated in the sky, buzzing with blue and dark orange sparks lighting from its slim four wings.
John blinked, laying bare all of its paraters in his eyes.
[Na]: Smolder-Winged Ghostblue Longhornian

[Growth Stage]: Pri
— Gene Potential: 15/100
— Strength: 250

Seeing the giant monster with its distinctive uniqueness and the power it displayed, the audience created a buzz.
"Why did he choose that Lockham bastard? Damn it! If he loses, he’ll be giving that artifact to our enemies," Davin said, frowning.
"Yeah, and this ghost insect of Honik is fucking powerful. It’s a perfect peak of Gold-rank and he has trained it a lot."
"Does it have a level 3 Mastery?"
"Yeah. Fla Mastery level 3 and Cobaltwave Mastery level 2 as of yesterday," Kenil said with a nod.
"Well, who knows? John might have a powerful pet given to him by his master," Reena said.
"He summoned it."
John waved his hand as a wisp shot out of his that soon turned into the Titanhell chjaw Voltiger!
"Woah, what kind of Monster is that?!"
"chanical attribute?!"
"It looks freaking aweso!"
"That tiger looks badass, woohoo!"
"Lightning is more powerful against ghosts!"
"John Wicked might win."
"That jaw, those tubes in legs, and all that shit I can’t understand, this Monster looks like a super chad."
The audience created a huge uproar over rc.
rc’s potential was Sovereign rank, one rank higher than the Longhornian of Honik Lockham.
"Humph, not bad. But the victory is mine," Honik said with a snort. "Bring it on."
John grinned.
rc roared at Honik as a loud sound mix of an engine and a roar rang out as golden and blue electricity flared around him.
The anchor floated in the middle of both. "Alright, let us start the battle without further ado. The rules are simple. Tars are not allowed to fight. No item usage is allowed. No item
A huge countdown appeared in the sky starting from five.
rc slowly walked forward while the Longhorniun floated ten ters off the ground, its big eyes staring down.
As soon as the countdown hit zero, Honik directed his first command as a wave of sparkling blue stream shot at Voltiger.
But a golden-blue lightning ring suddenly expanded from rc, covering a 10-ter radius around him.
This skill allowed rc to ignore gravity around him, giving atmospheric flight ability as this lightning-tal ring created a magnetic forcefield around.
rc shot up in the sky and zood at the Longhorniun as everyone’s jaw dropped to the ground.
’It can fly?!’ Honik frowned, commanding his pet to quickly get away while also issuing a skill command.
Longhorniun indeed moved fast, dodging the quick claws of rc just barely.
But rc wasn’t going to let go that easily as he ca to a sudden half and used a skill—Ravager Hell Spin!
rc’s chanical body transford into a chakram, turning into a literal weapon as it spun with terrifying voltspark attribute’s power.
Longhorniun’s horn was also glowing as it was about to release an offense-type skill.
But right before its attack was released, rc also shot at Longhorniun like a bullet and he was faster!
Since Longhorniun was a ghost-type, rc passed through him, but the voltspark ring that was activating dealt significant damage.
Longhorniun cried out loudly in pain as it began falling slowly like swaying, its vitality got hit by 58%.
Halfway to death.
’Damn it! Get it together, fast!’ Honik shouted in command as he panicked upon seeing rc quickly making a turn mid-air, going for another hit!
Alas, rc had attained level 3 Voltspark mastery, level 3 tal mastery, and level 3 chanical Mastery.
John had also used Monster Mutation Evolab’s Monster Modification before the fight, which allowed him to choose five skills from the pool of 18 that rc had!
Zoom!
rc streaked through Longhorniun again, eliminating the beetle as it turned into a wisp and shot back into Honik’s body.
"And we have the winner!"
"Holy shit!"
"What the fuck was that transformation of that lightning plasma chakram?!"
"chanical attribute’s specialty which is transformations is already freaking powerful on this monster. I bet this tiger has Sovereign-rank Potential right now."
"Aweso monster!"
The audience was in full fever of excitent from seeing rc in action.
"Congratulations, John Wicked. You retained your own stack and with this victory, gained ten Sovereign-rank resources, ten Emperor-rank Potions, and 50,000 Sovereign Essence Coins."
"Thanks, mate!" John smilingly waved at Honik.
Honik almost puked blood when he saw that smile.
’I lost...what’s with that fucking monster?’ Honik looked at rc who, being a highly intelligent monster as a mber of Monster Paradise, was hyping up the audience by flying around the stadium and doing funny and cool antics.
"So John, would you like to do one more battle or wrap it up for today?" the anchor asked.
Before John could answer, Honik’s voice rang out, empowered by his soul energy.
"If you dare, fight as a Tar!"
John raised his eyebrows and looked at Honik.
’No, John. Don’t do that.’ — Kenil.
’John, don’t get provoked. He is a peak Gold rank. He is stronger than you in paraters. Even if you are skilled, just one mistake and he can one-shot you.’
"Well, since you say so," John slowly said as he smiled.
Kenil and Reena could only wry smile at each other as John completely ignored them.
"Well, we saw him breaking records of peak Gold-rank Tars in the Super Tar sports," Brisa said with a dry chuckle.
"Yeah, but this is different." Davin frowned. "It’s a real battle. However...his Space and Gravity mastery can trouble anyone in Gold-rank at least."
"That’s...true," Kenil said with a nod. "They are powerful attributes."
"Especially when both are on a single person." Reena ruefully smiled. "He might win."
anwhile, Honik approached John while saying his new stacks.
"Just five Sovereign-rank resources and one Emperor-rank Weapon? Nah, that’s boring." John grinned.
"What?! Do you think Emperor-rank Weapons are like cabbage? This Emperor-rank Weapon costs 200,000 Sovereign Essence Coins and three Sovereign-rank resources."
’Damn, that’s expensive. I should sell so after buying.’
[Azelis: Well, Sovereign-rank weapons and armor are unobtainable. Artifacts are artifacts, they can’t be weapons since even if so are shaped like weapons, their durabilities are not as tough as crafted weapons and armor.]
[ Jibril: Oh, I didn’t know that. ]
"Well, what do you suggest then?" Honik annoyingly asked John.
"My stack will be the artifact, and what you gave it." John grinned. "Match that, and we’ll fight."
"..."
The audience burst into uproar and laughter.
People shouted for Honik to accept and bring out more stuff.
But this was already crazy. They were Gold-rank Tars stacking such high-ranking stuff.
The high-echelon powerhouses of forces, the Emperor-rank Tars, had already arrived here as they floated high up in the sky and watched.
Since John stacked that powerful fla-attributed artifact, which many strong Tars could use since many had a high level of fla mastery, it was bound to attract attention.
All forces wanted it, which was why these Gold-rank prodigies that arrived to take on the challenge were allowed to announce the high-ranking stuff as their stack.
"What are you planning to do?" Dreamforged Guild’s Emperor-rank Tar looked at the Lockham Family’s Emperor-rank Tar.
"What can I do? This is not in my hand. Sir Loren is watching everything as well."
"Oh? Is he here?"
"Not here."
Indeed, Honik was in contact with his uncle, Loren Lockham.
"Let think," Honik said to John.
"Sure, take your ti."
Loren wanted to curse aloud, but this was a chance as well as a risk.
’That brat just entered Gold rank. His stats are low. No matter how good he is at combat, the difference can’t be that much in front of Honik, right?’
’Uncle, I can beat him.’
Loren rubbed his temples.
’Fine, but if we lose, it’s going to hurt...’ Loren didn’t feel good when thinking about losing.
The family would lose a good chunk if Honik lost.
’Uncle, I can’t lose against him in a duel. The difference is big. Don’t worry, I’ll win us that artifact.’
"John Wicked, I accept the challenge."
"Then speak, what are you stacking?" John smiled.
