Vina Kana and Mira continued their quest through the Bone Church, with the forr seeking the torn pages of the Ancient Scroll of Destiny forged by God, and the latter aiming to unravel the mystery at hand.
From what Slaier disclosed, Mira learned that the Primordial Church had been created by the Celestial Kingdom’s Divine, utilizing mythological lore from history and the original scriptures of the True Religion to form an entirely new Church. The deeds the church recounted were a mix of truth and fabrication, hard to distinguish.
Now, Mira knew more than before, and what remained was to prevent the Primordial Church’s conspiracy with Anos.
According to Slaier, the ultimate goal of the Primordial Church was to destroy the Law and restore the old order, often repeating ntions of returning to the "original cradle" in their doctrines.
Mira did not understand what this original cradle was, but anyway, she knew it was right to prevent them from returning to it.
Throughout their journey, Vina Kana and Mira did not encounter any considerable threat.
They thodically moved through the Bone Church. Nevertheless, as they approached the end, their vigilance heightened rather than diminished.
The subterranean Bone Church was comprised of three tiers, sowhat similar to the aboveground church structure. Mira and Vina Kana had reached the innermost sanctuary, before which stood a large door slightly ajar, emitting myriad chills.
It seed soone had arrived at this place before them.
The two exchanged glances.
Then, Vina Kana slowly stepped forward, pushing the heavy stone door.
Mira followed closely behind her.
With a thunderous noise, they stepped into the sanctuary of the Bone Church. The space was unexpectedly vast, far surpassing the halls they had walked through before. Peering inside, Mira’s heart skipped a beat.
In the deepest part of the sanctuary stood an unprecedentedly colossal Divine Statue, its face stern. In its left hand, it held a long spear wrapped in thunder, while its right hand extended outward as though entrusting sothing.
"Anos!"
Mira rushed forward, only to find Princess Anos lying beneath the outstretched hand of the statue.
Vina Kana rapidly followed, and as Mira reached Anos, she noticed, leaning against a column used to support the beams, a dark-haired girl who looked even younger than herself.
"Who are you? What happened to Anos?!" Mira quickly asked.
The dark-haired girl slowly turned her head, glanced at Mira, and murmured,
"Anos? Is that her real na... so, Loa was indeed a pseudonym."
Mira’s acute hearing caught the girl’s mutterings. She could guess that after Anos beca separated from Mira, she encountered this dark-haired girl, and being a highly guarded individual, had not disclosed her true na to the stranger.
"What exactly happened to her?!" Mira asked sowhat frantically.
At this point, Vina Kana approached, her gaze coldly sweeping over the dark-haired girl.
The latter shivered, then lowered her head and silently walked over to Vina Kana’s side.
"Is she... Selena?" Mira asked in surprise.
Judging by their deanor, it seed the dark-haired girl was the Selena that Vina Kana had ntioned.
Indeed, Vina Kana nodded slightly,
"Yes."
Then, Vina Kana turned to Selena, saying,
"Resolve Mira’s doubts."
Selena shifted her eyes then focused on Mira. After a pause, she began,
"In this Bone Church, for so reason, I unknowingly followed the wrong person, mistakenly trailing behind Loa... no, Anos..."
Then, the girl nad Selena recounted everything that had happened.
It turned out, after realizing she had followed the wrong person, Selena almost ended up fighting with Anos. But a sudden turn of events forced them to cooperate. They encountered countless undead on their way, managing to fight through with combined efforts.
Their path was different from the one Vina Kana and Mira had taken; they encountered no moving statues, walked through no coffin-filled halls, nor had they seen Slaier from the past. In comparison to the perils Mira had faced along the way, their route had been extrely safe.
Risk and opportunity often coexist, and most of the ti, risk only accompanies risk, just as opportunity accompanies opportunity. Anos and Selena discovered many ancient books and even found the skeleton of an Elder of the Primordial Church. Through spirit communication, they learned about intricate secrets.
"Have you... heard about the Six Divine who founded the Church?" Selena asked.
Mira nodded without hesitation.
"The actions of these Divine undoubtedly defy the Divine... don’t they realize that not even the power of a thousand gods together can match a fraction of God’s might?
Moreover, not all Divine wish to defy the Law and re-establish the ’old era.’
Yet, these Six Divine still ca together, to resist the laws of Heaven in this era.
This is because...
A ruler nad Shan’en."
"A ruler nad Shan’en?" Mira incredulously repeated.
The dark-haired girl, Selena, thodically explained:
