Chapter 580: Carl, Bakkin’s Entanglent!

Just then, a figure lunged straight at Carl.

Everyone’s eyes widened.

When they looked closely, they realized it was Bakkin, the sa woman who had been trailing Carl the whole ti.

What was going on?

For a mont, everyone was thrown off.

No matter how you looked at it, their relationship should have been closer to an alliance.

So why would Bakkin attack Carl at a mont like this?

"Bakkin, what are you doing?!" Carl shouted.

"Go, now!"

His twisted grin vanished as if it had been slapped off.

The instant he saw her rush in without hesitation, panic flashed across his face.

"I asked you to co here not to get in my way."

"I asked you to co... so I could see you one last ti!"

"Impossible."

Bakkin’s voice was calm, almost gentle, yet filled with certainty.

"If you’ve already chosen death, I can’t stop you."

"Then you can’t stop from choosing this either."

"I’m going with you."

There was no hesitation in her eyes.

Bakkin had boarded the Rocks Pirates’ ship in the past to gather information, hunting secrets from powerful people like a vulture in silk.

The so called son she dragged around, Weevil, had been created using the genes of Whitebeard, Kaido, and Charlotte Linlin.

With bloodline factor technology, they had tried to build an artificial human made for war.

But even with complete technology, the genes of those three were too monstrous.

They could not truly be fused.

In the end, what ca out was a Weevil who was terrifyingly strong but foolish and ntally stunted.

If his intelligence had matched his strength, his combat power would have been far beyond what anyone imagined.

"Get out!" Carl roared, struggling against Bakkin’s grip.

"We don’t need you following us!"

"Damn it, this god is what I’ve pursued my entire life, and I won’t allow anyone to stain him!"

"Even you aren’t qualified!"

"Get out! You don’t deserve to die in God’s arms, you trashy woman!"

His words ca like knives.

He scread them at her, tried to cut her loose with sheer cruelty.

But his body had already lost too much essence and too much strength.

He could not break free, not right now.

Bakkin did not loosen her hold even a little.

"Do you think I don’t know what kind of person you are?" she said softly, the sa tone she always used.

"Provoking won’t work."

"Take with you."

Hearing that, Carl’s fury drained away.

What replaced it was reluctance.

A kind of helpless softness he clearly hated showing.

Because Nirvasiu was not complete yet.

Carl’s life was still needed to finish the final activation.

Vegapunk had implanted a god’s gene into Carl’s body.

Carl had agreed to it.

As those divine genes grew, Carl grew with them.

He had already been an exceptional scientist, and after the implantation, his brain developnt was pushed even further.

Of course, it ca with a price.

God would take everything back the mont it needed to.

From the very start, Carl understood it was a deal with the devil.

But he chose it anyway.

Because he had his own obsession.

Back then, after Bakkin brought back the genes of those three, it was Carl and Bakkin who worked together to develop Weevil.

That alone said enough about their relationship.

A man like Carl had been willing to collaborate with her.

So what they were to each other was obvious.

"No," Carl said, voice turning raw.

"If you enter Nirvasiu’s body, even your soul will be devoured."

"At that point... maybe no one in this world will even rember you existed."

His breathing hitched.

Then he forced the words out, as if confessing was a pain worse than death.

"This so called god, this Nirvasiu... was created by ."

"By Carl."

"Live for ."

"I need soone in this world to rember ."

For the first ti, he truly softened.

And he hoped, desperately, that this would stop her from doing sothing foolish.

Bakkin’s expression trembled.

"Since you knew this... why did you still do it?!"

"We could’ve lived an ordinary life together. That would’ve been enough!"

"Our lives already..."

Puff!

Before she could finish, a huge hand dropped from above.

It grabbed Carl in a single motion.

Fresh blood imdiately seeped out from between the fingers.

Bakkin’s eyes went wide.

"No!"

"Carl... you bastard..."

"Let him go. Right now!"

She released her Armant Haki in a burst, then slamd her fists into the giant hand with all her strength.

Behind her, on the large ship, Weevil after Weevil appeared.

One after another.

They charged forward without fear.

They had been created for a single purpose.

Protect Bakkin.

So the mont they heard her roar, they rushed over like beasts with no concept of retreat.

But in front of Nirvasiu, their strength was nowhere near enough.

Their attacks only angered it.

Nirvasiu struck them down directly, swatting them aside like broken dolls.

At the sa ti, another huge hand swung toward Bakkin.

Yet Bakkin showed no fear.

She raised her fist and t it head on.

She wanted to save him.

Even if it ant dying.

If Carl had to die, then he would die with her.

So what if the soul was devoured?

So what if they vanished forever?

Without Carl, surviving would be more painful than death.

"I told you already, get out of here!"

"Stupid woman!"

Carl’s voice suddenly erupted again.

Then sothing even stranger happened.

Nirvasiu raised its own arm and slamd its own head.

The giant staggered, thrown off balance, nearly falling into the sea.

Bakkin’s breath caught.

"That voice..."

"You’re not dead yet, are you?!"

"Co out already!"

"We’re not joining this!"

"I don’t want fa, I don’t want fortune, I don’t want anything!"

Her arms spread wide, like she was trying to embrace the world and drag him back out of it.

"All I want is you."

"I want you to stay by my side. Always."

Her face held expectation, and a final tenderness that looked almost out of place on soone like her.

"It’s impossible," Carl replied.

His voice was weaker now, like a candle in a storm.

"If you still care about ... then live well."

"Carry the mory of , alright?"

Bakkin’s lips parted.

"I..."

"This is my last strength," Carl cut in, his words fading.

It sounded true.

Whatever he had just done, those movents, that resistance, that control over Nirvasiu, it had taken everything he had left.

"No..."

Boom!

Before Bakkin could finish refusing, the huge hand grabbed her.

Then it hurled her away.

The power was overwhelming.

She had no chance to resist.

By the ti Bakkin understood what had happened, she was already flying far into the distance.

From that range, even if she tried to rush back, it would be too late.

"That’s fine then..."

Carl’s final thought slipped away.

Goodbye, my woman.

As the last flicker of his consciousness extinguished, the blood droplets hanging in the air surged.

They swallowed Carl himself.

And in that mont, he fully rged with Nirvasiu.

A terrifying power erupted outward in every direction, shaking the sea and the sky as if the world itself had just taken a breath and realized it was choking.
