Chapter 284: A Close To The Season (Ch.284)

"I should raze down your forest... leave you and your clan in a pile of ash!" Dante snarled.

He could feel the agitation of his predator side, his dragon was right on the surface as the sll of blood lingered in the air.

And Estelle was the only one bleeding, a sight that was not pleasing to Dante at all.

"I have sworn to keep her in one piece, I do not let her out of my sight because I cannot even bear to see her with a graze! Now look what you have done!" Dante hissed in anger.

"Dante... I’m fine, I’m fine." Estelle assured, placing a hand on Dante’s arm to calm him, a blush of embarrassnt coloring her cheeks at Dante’s words.

Lady lissa was still completely astonished as Dante took a threatening step forwards, raising a brow when the nymph guards were quick to stop his approach.

"You wish to battle ?" Dante asked Timmon with an amused scoff.

"If I must." Timmon replied.

"Brave, I will give you that. The sa bravery with which you knocked

unconscious and brought

here against my will." Dante recalled.

Timmon had no words to say in response and so he lowered his gaze.

"You...you are a dragon lord?" Lady lissa stuttered out, realization dawning on her.

"Need I confirm that? Or tell you what I think of cuffs?" Dante asked in a dark tone.

It was already straining on him that his dragon had returned so suddenly, exactly as it had in his vision and there was a deep unease settled in his heart as his mind kept drawing him back to that vision.

"I did not know, My Lord... forgive ." Lady lissa said, lowering her head to a bow.

"I would hold this against you, but your powers have left

with a puzzling vision, one I must make sense of." Dante replied after a mont of just glaring.

"Whatever vision you have seen, My Lord, it foretells of an event to happen. It should not be ignored." Lady lissa replied slowly.

"The Nord nymphs will have to answer for this at a more opportune ti, look forward to it." Dante finished, turning to leave.

"Other than my failure to recognize you, I do not think I have done anything deserving an explanation. I have rely observed my people’s way to seek a bonded."

"Your wife has proven unworthy of you tis without count which she admits to. Yet again, you save her as you have been the only one doing all the while."

"I cannot understand why a Lord dragon would chose to bond an unworthy mate." Lady lissa asked, honestly baffled.

Dante paused in his step at the ntion of the word ’wife’, passing Estelle a questioning look.

Estelle avoided his gaze, fidgeting visibly and Dante grunted beneath his breath.

"It is my choice to protect her, that does not require an explanation or place any obligations to reciprocate my actions on her."

"Elle can be whoever she wants, however she wants and I still will protect her. I have chosen to and I will not relent, there is no question of worth." Dante replied as he strode over to Estelle.

"We’re leaving." Dante said firmly, taking Estelle’s hand and pulling her along with him.

"Dante wait... they helped

find you." Estelle said quickly, gesturing to Lord Farren and the druid nymphs who also watched Dante warily from a distance.

Dante stopped, glancing in the direction Estelle pointed.

"Who?" Dante asked.

"They are nymphs of the druid clan, Lord Farren and his son led them here to help ." Estelle whispered to Dante.

Dante had already concluded all nymphs were beyond saving and so this gave him pause.

"Did they?" Dante asked, returning his attention to the Druid nymphs.

"For keeping her safe in my stead, you have my gratitude." Dante said, lowering his head to a small bow.

"Ah...there is no need for such formality, young dragon lord." Lord Farren assured with a shake of his head.

Dante patted his belt and pulled out a small orb, handing it to Estelle.

Estelle’s eyes widened as she stared down at the treasure, knowing it was refined from dragon stone by Dante’s fire.

Dragons were especially possessive of such treasures and never gave it out so easily, it was too precious.

"We do not require paynt for our help." Lord Farren was quick to assure.

"It is not paynt, it is a treasure I have forged. It has great monetary value but an even greater value than that, it is linked to

and my clan."

"In return for saving Elle, the druid clan has the protection of Fort Scabbard. Should you ever require aid, centuries from now even, seek

or my kin...the dragons of Fort Scabbard will not refuse you." Dante said.

Estelle held the orb carefully like it was the most precious thing in the world, taking it over to Lord Farren.

"This is too valuable, I cannot dare accept it!" Lord Farren exclaid in surprise.

"To dragons, value is given in exchange for value." Estelle assured,

No words had to be said further to convey Dante’s intent, the value of his orb was what he deed worthy to express his gratitude for Estelle’s well being.

"You are well treasured, My Lady. I recall I have previously said the young dragon lord is lucky to have you, I see now that you are the lucky one." Lord Farren said with a warm smile, accepting the orb.

"Thank you." Estelle murmured, bowing slightly before she hurried to back to Dante’s side.

The nymphs stared after Dante and Estelle, understanding what great rcy it was that Dante had not taken his pound of flesh for the dishonor he had endured in their lands.

"We nymphs bear hostility to the dragons for their supre rule, yet we must admit... that these beasts of Asvar are worthy of this supremacy." Lord Farren said with a nod of his head.
