Chapter 283: Raging Maroon (Ch.283)

The head guard of the Nord clan made to protest but was stopped by Lady lissa who lifted a hand to calm her nymphs.

"Very well, I have an idea that I am certain Lord Farren will find satisfactory." Lady lissa began as she strode over to Estelle slowly, a dark glint in her eyes.

"First blood can be contended...but death is certain." Lady lissa finished, waving her hand slightly.

In a flash, multiple vines shot at Estelle from all directions, with blinding speed.

There was no escaping them and Estelle had lost hold of her sword in her attempt to save the treasure.

The vines wrapped themselves around Estelle’s neck and limbs, lifting her up off the ground slowly, while tightening at the sa pace.

"Lady lissa! What are you doing?!" Lord Farren exclaid, taking a step forward but was blocked off by the Nord guard nymphs.

There were not enough Druid nymphs to confront the Nord nymphs in their own territory and so in this case, the Druid nymphs were also helpless.

"This is against the rules of the tournant! You cannot do this!" The head guard of the Druid nymphs called out in rage.

Estelle gasped for breath as the vines tightened painfully around her, cutting of both air and blood flow.

The vines were thick and strong, struggle as Estelle might, she could not escape it’s hold. The vines only tightened even more painfully with every twitch Estelle made.

Estelle’s vision grew hazy, it was hard to focus on the sights and sounds all around her when her airway was being crushed with every passing second.

’I can’t die like this... what happens to father and the rest of the clan?’ Estelle thought as she kept on struggling, throwing her arms and legs wildly in an attempt to free herself.

"Admit defeat, and I just might spare you." The High Maiden’s taunting voice reached Estelle.

Estelle tried to speak, but her words ca out as a pained gasp and so she shook her head instead, as much as she could in her state.

Defeat? Dragons were never defeated, they never pleaded for their lives or lowered their head to anyone.

’I will not be the sha of my bloodline.’ Estelle thought to herself, even as tears sprang up to her eyes knowing that there was no escaping this fate.

Estelle had lost to the High Maiden and now, she would pay the price of it. But perhaps death was a better fate than watching Dante’s life ruined and being unable to help him.

At least this was the thought on Estelle’s mind as black spots danced across her vision.

"I’m sorry Dante... I’m sorry..." Estelle mouthed inaudibly.

Just as Estelle thought she would lose consciousness, an earth shaking roar shook the very forest and Estelle’s eyes widened.

The loud beating of wings echoed through the clearing, stirring up dirt, debris and large gusts of wind that tossed the nymphs away.

Another loud roar shook the forest and Estelle tilted her head up as much as she could, catching sight of a flash of maroon scales.

Those scales... even with her mind unfocused and her vision blurry, Estelle could recognize them anywhere.

"It’s a dragon! It’s a dragon!" A Nymph yelled in panic.

Pandemonium broke out through the clearing as the nymphs dashed to the safety of the trees in terror just as a massive dragon made it’s landing, sending a wave of dust and rock flying as his limbs touched the earth.

His weight dug in, creating a large crater around his fore and hind limbs and his large wings were still spread to the side, knocking down trees and terrifying the nymphs.

The High Maiden was also thrown off balance by the dragon’s landing and the vines around Estelle ca loose.

Estelle fell to the ground, landing to her knees while clutching her neck and gasping for breath.

"Na yourself Lord Dragon! The nymphs are at peace with dragon kind, you cannot trespass our lands unannounced!" The head guard of the Nord clan confronted fiercely.

The agitated maroon scaled dragon released another earth shaking roar, it’s limbs twitching, poised to lunge at any mont.

"Lord Dante Temur of Fort Scabbard! That is his na!" Estelle yelled out when she finally caught her breath.

The entire clearing fell into pin drop silence, the only sound being the agitated breaths of the maroon dragon.

The dragon was so large, it completely occupied more than half of the clearing, leaving the nymphs who had not escaped for their lives packed in a small space and backed by trees.

Estelle struggled up to her feet and walked over to Dante’s dragon, placing a hand on his hind limb.

"Dante...?" Estelle thought to him through the mind connection established by skin contact.

Dante grunted quietly, turning his large head so he stared down at Estelle.

Estelle’s throat was clogged with a sob at the familiarity of Dante’s dragon, a dragon she had not seen in over a decade.

"Your unicorn horn grew longer..." Estelle croaked out.

Dante’s dragon had a single horn portruding from it’s forehead unlike other dragon horns and Estelle had always teased him about it when they were younger, telling him he had unicorn blood in his veins sowhere.

"Sharper too..." Dante’s voice echoed in Estelle’s mind.

Estelle laughed, nodding in agreent as tears slipped out of her eyes.

"Why did you co and get yourself hurt? I would never mate so strange nymph..." Dante thought to Estelle again.

"I... I didn’t know what else to do..." Estelle stuttered out.

"Let

show you then..." Dante thought back as he turned to face the nymphs, a fierce roar rumbling out of his throat.

Dante then shifted, his dragon form giving way for his human side and in a mont, Dante stood in the place of his dragon, arms crossed behind his back and a domineering aura pouring off of him.

"I should raze down your forest... leave you and your clan in a pile of ash!" Dante snarled.
