The more he did this, the more Tiffany Lynch felt unworthy.

A replacent who was insignificant, pathetic, and nauseating.

Yet, in the end, she was defeated by such a person.

She suppressed the last bit of affection she had in her heart for George River and spoke with a cold voice.

"George River, I’ll ask you one last thing: when the Lynch Family went bankrupt, did it have anything to do with your family?"

It was a question, but Tiffany Lynch had already guessed the answer in her heart. It’s just that she had always been afraid to face it, but now that the ti had co, it seed there was no harm in being clear about it.

After all, with Jimmy Simmons, she no longer needed George River. She even wanted to take revenge for his betrayal of her.

George River’s hand, which had been holding the wine glass, slowly loosened. This had always been his greatest source of guilt towards Tiffany Lynch.

He had chosen to hide the truth, fearing this very day would co.

Yet, when the day actually arrived, unexpectedly, George River didn’t feel panicked or sad.

Once this issue was out in the open, it truly ant their relationship had reached an irreparable state, where even the remaining love would turn into hatred.

But at this mont, George River actually felt relief; faced with the questioning of the woman he had once chosen to spend his life with, he felt more calm than anything, with very little emotional turmoil.

His response was simply, "Did Jimmy Simmons tell you that?"

Tiffany Lynch did not answer the question but countered with one of her own, "So you’re saying it’s true?"

"The matter of that year..." George River started to say sothing but, glancing in Jimmy’s direction, he took all the bla, "Think whatever you want. All these are just the norm in the business world."

The Lynch Family’s bankruptcy was the result of multiple forces coming together. Although the River Family played a major part, the Simmons Family also carved out a significant share of the profits at the ti.

Just as it was said in the original story.

For soone as proud as Tiffany Lynch, it was simply impossible to accept that the man she had once loved was the main culprit behind her family’s bankruptcy.

If it wasn’t for the Lynch Family’s bankruptcy, she could have lived as the center of attention forever, instead of being oppressed and looking at others’ faces like she was now.

The truth and George River’s indifferent attitude were both like knives to Tiffany Lynch’s heart and pride. She stood up abruptly with a self-mocking laugh, her voice filled with scorn, "I truly regret ever loving you. Why did I choose you back then, why did I believe your so-called sweet nothings? You ruined my family, and now you won’t even spare Jimmy’s company..."

Once she realized George River had no more utility, she shredded her disguise and rcilessly stabbed at him, "George River, you are the most disgusting man I have ever t. No wonder Hannah Winter would rather choose a bastard than you."

That last sentence touched George River’s bottom line.

Although he had felt a trace of softness for the weeping Tiffany Lynch, at that mont, George River beca completely hard-hearted, "Tiffany Lynch, you say you loved ? Are you sure it wasn’t my money you loved?"

He had asked Hannah Winter the sa question. What was Hannah’s answer back then?

"Of course, George. I only love you, the person."

He didn’t believe it and found it laughable, yet he had never thought to ask Tiffany Lynch such a question.

Because in his heart, he always believed his Tiffany was pure and beautiful, just like in the past. Such a question would only be an insult to her.

But now, it was as if he had sobered up, and so he asked.
