His once clear and graceful charm was nowhere to be seen.
After all, he was the man she had truly loved, and they had grown up together like childhood sweethearts. Seeing George River as he was now, Tiffany Lynch’s heart couldn’t help but feel reluctant and pained.

After much thought, she still sat down opposite George, her deanor as gentle as ever, and she softly began, "George, have you been... doing alright lately?"
George looked up at her, poured himself so wine without a word.
Tiffany sighed, taking his silence for resentnt, "George, whatever happened between Jimmy and ... I was sincere with you from the start, if it weren’t for Hannah Winter, we..."

The frown on the man’s face revealed his displeasure.

She lifted her head and stared intently at the man before her, "George, I’ve always wanted to ask, did you ever truly love ?"
At this mont, the feigned gentleness and kindness had vanished from Tiffany’s face, replaced by a sowhat twisted look, her eyes carrying a morbid and bizarre hue.
But her eyes were also thinly veiled with mist.
The love of their youth, the five-year-long obsession she had waited for, she had thought it would yield a love that lasted until death. Who would have imagined that they would grow further apart, to the point of almost loathing each other?
George t those tear-filled eyes, remaining silent without a word.
He had indeed once considered spending a lifeti with Tiffany; the palpitations of his youth were not fake.
Tiffany stared hard into George’s eyes as if trying to discern sothing, but eventually, she let out a self-deprecating chuckle.
She felt pitiable for not realizing sooner what a heartless man he was.
"I should have known, if you could abandon Hannah for my sake back then, then one day you would also abandon for soone else. I just didn’t expect that person to be Hannah..."
George relaxed his frown, but in the end, he still said nothing, letting Tiffany vent her anger in front of him.
Tiffany paused again as she spoke, the hatred in her eyes sharpening, almost as if she was grinding her teeth, "I really didn’t expect to lose to her in the end."
She lifted her head and looked at the man in front of her, murmuring as if to herself, "George, do you love Hannah Winter?"
Finally, a flicker of emotion stirred in the previously silent man’s eyes.
His gaze was a tumultuous mix of regret, struggle, and unmistakable affection.
He remained silent, but his eyes turned in the direction of Hannah, watching her charm and flourish beside that man, resplendent in her beauty, and he gave a wry twitch of his lips.
The silence at that mont spoke louder than a thousand words.
Tiffany understood, her hatred spread like an unfathomable net, pressing her down beneath the shadow nad Hannah Winter.
She longed to tear Hannah into a thousand pieces to quench the hatred in her heart.
Yet the pride she was born with forbade her from admitting defeat so easily.
George’s silence acted as a catalyst for Tiffany.
