Speaking of the fan club, Jack Stewart seed to relax a bit, even though he was full of complaints when speaking about Edison Lynch, he looked rather pleased.
Hannah listened attentively, but then suddenly asked, "Are you really not thinking about becoming a director?"
Jack’s expression finally softened, he nudged his nose, "Why are you bringing that up again? Didn’t I say I was going to be your manager?"
The car had pulled into the parking lot.
Hannah fell silent, pulling out her mirror to touch-up her makeup.
She was pressed for ti, so she was still wearing the makeup she put on for the magazine shoot that morning, with just a little bit of adjustnt. Fortunately, she had a good complexion, so despite the rushing around, her makeup still looked fresh.
Her makeup was refined with a few tiny sequins dotted at the corners of her eyes, shining gracefully under the rays of light coming from the car window, like a rmaid’s tail splashing in the sun, its sparkles utterly charming.
Jack Stewart returned his gaze, and for once, fell into a rare silence.
He had always been ticulous about his skin care, and his skin was practically more delicate than a woman’s. His eyes were slightly narrow, his nose not too prominent, perhaps his delicate features gave him an androgynous vibe.
He no longer spoke in that pinched voice, his original voice was clear and bright, yet now it was loaded with a touch of lancholy, "Hannah Winter, you better not be thinking of leaving behind."
Hannah turned her head and looked at him with a smile, "I never said I was going to leave you."
Jack persisted, averting his face, possibly hiding so tears, "I told you I’d be your manager, and that won’t change for the rest of your life."
Hannah playful teased him, "What if I retire and stop being an artist?"
Jack Stewart was taken aback, he forgot to wipe his tears and stared at Hannah as if she was a heartbreaker who had abandoned his wife and child, clutching his chest, "You...are you serious? Have you secretly started dating soone else behind my back?"
She responded with a faint smile, replying swiftly and sharply, "Yeah, I’m planning to marry a tycoon and beco a rich wife."
Soone knocked on the car window from outside, indicating that the fan eting was about to start.
Hannah nodded and got out of the car.
Jack Stewart instinctively followed, holding her bag.
Perhaps coming to his senses, he regained his usual quirky deanour, but his-tone was earnest, "Hannah, you can’t think like that. You must know that we won have to have our own careers, only with financial independence can we have a say. Marriage is not everything in life. Look at those before you who dread of marrying into wealth, how many of them ended up well..."
Jack Stewart cited quite a few examples in one breath.
Hannah caught only one thing and smiled at him, "We won?"
Realizing his mistake, he quickly corrected himself, "You won."
After finishing, he muttered to himself, "You know , old habits die hard."
Hannah pretended not to hear, turning her head to lean it on Jack Stewart’s shoulder, her slender eyelashes fluttering gently like a fan, "Jack Stewart, I suddenly feel like you’re quite handso, not just like my pretty little sister anymore."
