The moonlight spilled a cold, white brilliance, illuminating the handso features of the man. It added a hint of enchantnt, but also traces of coldness. His voice, however, remained as calm as ever, even carrying a hint of laughter, "Sweetheart, repeat what you just said."

As her eyes t the man’s gaze, it felt vast and deep as the ocean behind her, seeped with danger.

Hannah imdiately reacted, her face adorned with a flattering smile. Blinking innocently, she feigned ignorance, "I didn’t say anything just now."

The man coldly uttered two words, "Liar."

A dejected Hannah wilted, "Alright, alright, I just expressed a desire for you to love more. There’s nothing wrong with that."

Every girl wishes to be loved more, after all.

Having said that, she stared at him, her mouth slightly upturned like a beautiful flower petal, irresistibly charming.

Arnold stroked his fingers delicately, his face unchanged, "Not that line."

Having spoken, he waited for the young lady’s response in front of him.

However, the young lady seed bent on playing dumb. Her pitiful face resembled a helpless kitten that had unwittingly climbed a high platform only to get stuck and was now desperately seeking rescue.

A passing person would naturally feel pity and help.

Unfortunately, that was not the answer that Arnold was looking for.

He turned around, seeming to walk away.

Before he could get far, he could hear the accommodating voice from behind, faint and unconvincing, "Alright, alright, I admitted to being fickle, if I were to et a guy who is more attractive than you..."

She paused just then.

Arnold had no choice but to return to her side, waiting for the rest of her words.

However, Hannah gestured invitingly towards him, playfully whining, "Co a little closer, let lean on you."

The hand she reached out wavered a little, signaling that she wouldn’t back down until she got her way.

Arnold had to give in, moving one step closer, to a point accessible to Hannah.

The young girl finally contentedly climbed onto his shoulder, struggling to ascend his body to escape the cold rocky ground beneath her.

She was clumsy, like a short-limbed cat.

After a long struggle, Hannah, bathed in sweat and drained of energy, blinked back tears and implored with a voice on the brink of tears, "If you don’t help now, I’m going to fall."

Intentionally maintaining a stern face, he ignored her, "Falling wouldn’t be so bad, you would break your leg and save the trouble of dealing with your fickle heart."

Hannah pouted in protest, "I was just making a casual remark."

Arnold couldn’t help but laugh, "Really, just a casual remark? You didn’t an it?"

Eventually, it was unbearable for him to just stand by. He held onto her waist tightly and with little effort, pulled her back into his embrace.

Relieved, Hannah finally relaxed on Arnold’s shoulder, her body went limp, they voice soft and weak. "You have to forgive ."

Her face was flushed, and she looked endearingly charming like a wilting red rose under the sun.

Feeling the slightly high body temperature of the petite woman in his arms, he quickened his steps, all the while maintaining a calm, gentle voice, "Forgive you for what?"

"For making a mistake that every girl in the world is bound to make."

Her voice was faint and breathy as she purposely tightened her grip around the man’s neck, hiding the amusent in her eyes from him.
