George River locked eyes with a stunned Tiffany Lynch, about to say sothing, when the phone by his side rang.

Tiffany Lynch could only restrain herself from reacting.

She planned to discuss this matter with George River once he returned, even if it ant shedding more tears. However, once the man left, he never ca back.

Mid-hill Courtyard was to the south, while the new villa district was in the north. It had taken Hannah quite so ti to get there, and by the ti she arrived, it was already dark.

She wasn’t in the mood to co back, but Jinlian kept pestering her, so she had to make the trip.

When George River arrived, the fire had already been extinguished. It was not a big fire; only the grass outside the first floor had been mostly burnt. The spectators had already dispersed, and the ground was full of water, with the clear traces of ssy footprints.

He imdiately spotted Hannah standing on the scorched lawn, with a cardboard box at her feet. But from that distance, he couldn’t see what was in the box.

George River’s eyes were dull, only with a touch of dark red at the bottom of his eyes. He strode over.

Hearing footsteps behind her, Hannah exhibited no reaction, only bending down to pick up the box at her feet.

Evening was falling, yet the streetlamp beside her shone brightly. Above her, the stars and moon blurred in the night sky, casting a dusky light on her porcelain face. Her eyelashes trembled slightly, as if in a fragile dream.

George River averted his eyes, "Did you start the fire?"

Hannah looked at the man in front of her, "Why would I risk going to jail just to light a fire?"

Is she insane?

And not in the least bit?

George River’s eyes landed on the familiar villa. The pink carpet at the entrance had been burned down by more than half. His brows furrowed as he sighed silently, "Do you hate that much? Enough to erase even our only mories?"

A gust of wind blew by, carrying the faint scent of sothing burnt, but mostly that of moisture after the rain.

It was slightly cold.

Hannah’s eyes twinkled with amusent. Her voice was soft, yet void of emotion, "Mr. River, wouldn’t you mind checking yourself into a hospital?"

George River detected her sarcasm, but instead of getting angry, he couldn’t help but laugh, his gaze lingering on the box that Hannah held in her arms.

In it were scattered small gift boxes in unopened condition, marked with nas of various luxury brands. Upon closer examination, they all turned out to be designs from one or two years ago.

Even online, these items wouldn’t be easily available now.

George River recognized one of them.

It was a gift from a partner when he went abroad two years ago. At that ti, there was only one woman by his side, Hannah. He had passed it to her without giving it much thought.

He didn’t take it seriously, but it happened to be Hannah Winter’s birthday. The young girl took it as a hint of his feelings for her and started expecting more from him.

As he looked at it now, George River realized the other items were probably things he had also casually given to Hannah Winter.

Unexpectedly, she had kept them all.

George River’s expression flickered between surprise and bitterness, "So you’re planning to throw them away?"

"Not really." Hannah smiled lightly, her voice was calm, "I am keeping them as a reminder to myself not to be blind."

George River looked down at her, a hint of coldness seeping into his gaze, "So, are you blind to Arnold Simmons as well?"

She laughed, her eyes clear and pure, her lips curved into a radiant smile, a sight so heartbreaking with just one glance.
