Perhaps it was the girl’s enchanting smile that day that had touched his heart.
The day the contract was laid on the table, the girl had a look of astonishnt and embarrassnt, but in the end, she still signed her na.
He had thought it was rely a case of rejecting what she wanted, he could tell she liked him.
But at that ti, he only treated Hannah as a plaything he had bought with money. She was nothing more than a stand-in due to their unequal status. He never truly cared about her. Even on the day they separated, her desperate pleas failed to sway him.
On the contrary, he only felt annoyance.
During those two years, he sotis lanted that Hannah had lost the vivacity and charm she had in the peach forest. She was like a lifeless puppet, her face was the only thing valuable about her.
But then, Hannah’s transformation...
Her every frown and smile, the soft little hand that lay on his chest, the slightly uplifted eyebrows and the charming smile at her lips, all tugged at his heartstrings.
Just like a peach blossom on the branch, she was bewitching.
Watching the person in the lens, George River’s heartbeat sped up uncontrollably, and even his breathing beca heavy.
But just then, a sudden intrusion of a white figure destroyed the beautiful scene in the lens.
George River furrowed his brows unconsciously.
The director threw his hat, picked up the loudspeaker and shouted, "Who the fuck ssed up my set? Are you out for a walk in your house here?"
In the lens, Tiffany Lynch turned around, bowed to the cara, tears blurred her vision, "I’m sorry, Director. I thought it was my turn, so...I’m sorry."
Seeing that it was Tiffany Lynch, the director glanced at George River, noticing that his face was slightly tense, he was unsure what to do.
The director didn’t feel comfortable scolding her further, his facial expression was not very good, "Okay, let’s reshoot this scene."
Tiffany Lynch wiped away the tears on her face, "Thank you, Director."
The director shouted to cut, and the crew nearby quickly moved to rearrange the set.
Tiffany Lynch turned around, facing Hannah, her smile was triumphant, "I’m so sorry, I disrupted your shooting."
She did it on purpose.
What she hated the most was everyone’s gaze on Hannah Winter, she was the one in the center, she was the one who won the first place in the program, but everybody on the internet was talking about Hannah.
Even George was just gazing at Hannah.
Hannah was watching Tiffany Lynch whose smile gradually turned gloomy, suddenly said in a serious tone, "Miss Lynch, your makeup is smudged."
With that one sentence, the expression on Tiffany Lynch’s face shattered.
While thinking about how to deal with Hannah, all Hannah noticed was that her makeup had smudged.
This out-of-the-blue comnt made Tiffany Lynch feel greatly insulted.
It’s like when you’re criticizing soone and they suddenly say: "You forgot to zip your pants up."
It imdiately leaves you with no desire to retort.
She intended to continue criticizing, but having smudged makeup was really embarrassing.
She cared about her face just as much.
Tiffany Lynch could only stomp her foot in frustration and hurriedly find soone to touch up her makeup.
Everything quietened down, leaving only Hannah alone.
George River walked over, "Hannah."
Hannah was standing in front of a giant peach tree, touching the rough bark, "I heard this is an ancient tree that has a history of hundreds of years. They say it has the power to secure marital bonds."
George River’s gaze landed on the girl in front of him, finally stopping on the soft and fair hand, after a mont of thought, he opened his mouth again, "Hannah, are you still..."
