Luckily, Big Round couldn’t understand.
Nearby, new residents had moved in—a sowhat eccentric old professor.
The old professor owned a beautiful golden retriever, calm, well-behaved, a little gentleman. When other dogs would quarrel, he would step forward to diate.
Sitting in the sunlight, he was practically the perfect "dream dog."
It wasn’t long before Little Belle, the Samoyed, fell head over paws in love with the golden retriever gentleman at first sight.
The two instantly beca the poster couple, playing and laughing together. When Big Round returned with flowers in his mouth and saw this scene, his heart broke.
And then, to top it all off, a heavy rain ca, leaving him soaked like a drowned rat.
If it hadn’t been for Hannah pulling him inside, he’d still be wallowing in sadness out there.
Golden Lotus, anwhile, was overjoyed.
Ever since Big Round had t Little Belle, he’d spent less ti playing with him. And Hannah lately... well, she’s been preoccupied too. Recently, Golden Lotus has been studying how to transform into a human.

Having received his own little raincoat, along with the news of tomorrow’s trip to the dog park, Big Round leapt excitedly into the rain, splashing water all over Golden Lotus.

He tried to paw at Hannah nearby, but she had already walked off with Arnold Simmons.
