The results had only been out for a short while when soone, holding their report card, started crying.
Hannah’s grades were as stable as ever, because this ti the challenging questions were mainly in the science comprehensive section, which just happened to be her strength. With an almost perfect score in that section, she secured the first place in the grade.
When Tessa Thompson looked at the grades, the first na she saw was Hannah at the top.
She shouted excitedly, and the whole class heard her.
"Hannah is so aweso, she even snatched the first place in the grade from the class president."
"I heard from the teachers in the office when I was handing in howork, that this ti the hardest part was the science comprehensive questions, which just so happen to be Hannah’s forte."
"I heard that the competition questions are about ten tis more twisted than the ones we usually have on our exams, like this level of difficulty..."
The students who were looking at their scores were still discussing.
After Tessa Thompson saw her own ranking, she pulled Hannah back to their seats.
Although this exam was very difficult, her own ranking didn’t change much, which made her very happy.
In addition to her happiness, Tessa Thompson opened a packet of chips.
Her desk drawer was like a magic bag full of snacks, always ready for her to pull sothing delicious out of it.
She passed the chips around to her classmates before sitting down to share them with Hannah. "Hannah, how co you are so amazing, being first on such a difficult exam, what is your brain made of?"
The chips crunched loudly as she bit into them.
Hannah, eating the chips, spoke sowhat indistinctly, "I... I didn’t expect it either."
Arnold Simmons, sitting behind them, had woken up at so point and was resting his head on his hand, watching her.
Seeing her munch like a hamster, he smiled quietly.
Indeed, she was excessively adorable.
Neither of them noticed Arnold Simmons’s gaze.
While eating, Tessa Thompson continued, "Hannah, do you think if I hang out with you more, I might also beco a bit smarter?"
"We are already desk mates," Hannah said, "and you are pretty smart already, Tessa."
Tessa Thompson, scratching her head with a smile, said, "Where, where, I’m just averagely smart."
She was very modest, yet her smile was irrepressible.
"Oh right, Hannah, I heard the school is planning to organize a trip to the nature park next door for us next week."
"Really?"
The Central High School, despite being located in the downtown area, wasn’t part of the noisy city center mainly because it only tended to be lively during school ti due to the several schools nearby.
And the nature park Tessa Thompson ntioned was only a half-hour walk away from Central High School.
It was within walking distance.
Tessa Thompson nodded, "It should be true—I heard it from Joe, and his sources are reliable."
Classmates would always joke that Joe has the talent to beco a paparazzo one day, always having the most information in hand.
After they finished a packet of chips, Tessa Thompson was about to continue when the bell for the start of the class rang.
This was a study hall period.
Without a doubt, Oscar Evans would use it for a summary of the recent mock exam.
Since the freshn year at Central High School, the school provided each student with a handbook, which had a specific section for recording each of their exam scores.
The school’s reason was to hope that everyone could keep a detailed record of the trends in their grades, to motivate themselves.
Although it was a good idea, very few could actually stick to it.
So the school ca up with a new requirent.
That was to maintain the habit of copying out mistakes.
After each monthly and major exam, everyone had to do it.
