"Yes, that’s her, where is she?"

"The old lady was very kind." Hannah looked up at the nearly two-ter-tall man, "She brought a very delicious cake last night."

"Did you eat it?" the man asked.

The cake had been poisoned, capable of corroding a person’s internal organs, yet one wouldn’t die imdiately.

This was a common trick used by the Poison Witch.

Hannah nodded, "I did eat it, it was delicious."

The man squinted his eyes as if he was judging whether Hannah was lying or not.

Several people hiding nearby also heard Hannah’s words.

Despite being innocent childhood speech, for so reason, it gave a very eerie and unsettling feeling.

It was as if a little witch had escaped the dark forest, wearing a red cloak dyed with blood.

"Uncle, do you have anything else to ask?" The little witch was tired, "If not, I’m going to go back to sleep."

The man fell silent, his eyes filled with vigilance.

The little witch went into the house, waving goodbye to the man.

And also to all those hidden in the shadows, observing her.

The mont the door closed, the smile on Hannah’s face gradually faded.

She humd a song, like a delicate porcelain doll.

It was a strange tune, like a nursery rhy, but it gave off a chilling feeling.

She was singing.

"A pretty little girl, she ca out of the forest, she wears a pretty cloak, has long hair. She always holds a paintbrush, people call her the little witch.

She draws on the ground, a rabbit cos to life, she draws on the trees, birds co to life, she draws on paper, little n stand up, turn around, with no eyes or hair..."

The song was faint, full of childish innocence.

Yet it made the listener’s skin crawl.

After that day, the Poison Witch disappeared.

It was a real disappearance, the kind where she vanished into thin air.

Soone took the chance to enter her house when Hannah was out, searching for the old woman.

But there was nothing inside.

No person, no blood, not even any sharp weapons.

The mystery was so profound that for a whole month, no one dared to get close to Hannah.

But Hannah continued to live as usual.

She would go out to find food for herself and even trade with people.

When she talked to people, she was as naive as a child, fitting her age.

A month later, the man with three scars on his face made his move.

A rchant caravan from Bruce had recently arrived in town.

They were just stopping temporarily and would soon leave.

Bruce was ho to the largest underground auction in the entire galaxy.

The scarred man didn’t want to miss out on this opportunity.

Hannah alone could cover his food expenses for an entire year.

A month was enough ti to dilute the man’s initial apprehensions.

In his eyes, Hannah was just an ordinary child that couldn’t be more common.

If it wasn’t for her pair of sufficiently pretty eyes, she would be easily overlooked in a crowd.

The scarred man initially wanted to act alone, but his plans were noticed by others.

In the end, to avoid mutual harm and internal strife, they decided to cooperate.

Another night ca, with the wind carrying frost, piercing straight to the bone.

There was a candle lit in Hannah’s house.

It was the cheapest kind, the more expensive ones she couldn’t afford yet.

She was a fallen princess.

But after tonight, she would have money.

Not a lot, but enough to redecorate the old, rundown little house.

First, she needed to buy a comfortable bed.
