The mutant rabbit pretending to be dead kicked its hind legs.

"Turns out it really is still alive," Hannah said as she lifted her head and t a pair of bright red round eyes. "And it’s quite fierce."

This was only a primary form of mutant beast, with so aggressiveness, but it was mild compared to other creatures like mutant lions and tigers.

Blue Star and Jinlian also curiously gathered around to watch.

Jinlian gestured back and forth, "Its fur seems even thicker than mine."

"It feels really comfortable too, all soft," Blue Star patted the rabbit’s belly with her wing.

Jinlian sighed with so regret, "Why didn’t I think to turn into a rabbit in the beginning?"

The rabbit lay on the ground with its legs stretched out, continuing to play dead.

Gregory was still trying to make fire, but since it had rained a few days ago, the wood was damp, making fire-making quite a challenge.

"Let do it."

Arnold Simmons walked over, taking over the tools from Gregory’s hands.

Gregory didn’t hesitate, "Alright, you make the fire, and I’ll take care of this rabbit."

Gregory walked away with the rabbit.

Jinlian and Blue Star followed in his footsteps.

Hannah sat under a tree, hugging her knees, watching Arnold trying to start the fire not far away.

Outside, the sky had already darkened, and it would beco even darker in the Blackwood Forest.

A small fla had sprung up, landing on so dry grass.

The firelight illuminated his profile, like a paintbrush with warm yellow specks, outlining his features brilliantly, as if part of an oil painting with extrely intense color collisions.

"Arnold."

She buried half her face in her arms, only showing her round eyes as she watched him.

Arnold looked up and asked her, "Are you cold?"

The night temperature was quite high, and they hadn’t brought camping gear since having heavy luggage in places like the Blackwood Forest would only be a burden.

Hannah shook her head, her disheveled black hair slightly fluffy, "I was just thinking about sothing."

"What’s on your mind?"

She tilted her head slightly, resting her face on her hands, "Are you ’real’?"

Arnold paused for a mont, the dry grass in his hand burning out, leaving just a flicker of light on his fingertips.

A burning pain ca.

Before he could react, Hannah had already rushed over, slapping the dry grass from his hands, "What are you daydreaming about?"

The grass fell to the ground and was carried away by the wind.

Arnold, realizing belatedly, shook his head, "Just a careless mistake."

A bit of a scorching pain ca from his fingertips, so light it was almost negligible.

Hannah crouched on the ground, now wearing an extra white jacket, which in the night shade, made her resemble the fluffy white rabbit from before.

Seemingly soft and harmless, but when angered, would bare her sharp teeth.

Just like now, she was a bit angry, "Give your hand."

Arnold lowered his eyes, his gaze falling on her delicate palm, and he obediently did as told.

The signs of the burn on his fingertip were not very noticeable, barely covered with a layer of red under the light.

For soone with psychic powers, such a wound could be considered insignificant.

But Hannah still subconsciously thought they were on Blue Star.

She leaned in and blew gently on it then looked up at him, "Does it hurt?"

Arnold shook his head, "I don’t feel much."

Just... it tickled a bit.

The spot where she blew felt ticklish.

Hannah reached out and lightly touched his fingertips, feeling the slightly elevated temperature there, "I was just joking with you a mont ago."

She bowed her head, her hair slightly disheveled by the wind, while loose strands fell ssily over her forehead, dangling beside her face.
