After the war, Minato retired since he wanted to stay more with his family.
Kozuki, Kakashi, Jiraya, Tsunade, Sakumo, so many people could have been the next Hokage, but all of them refused since nearly all of them were just too lazy.
Kozuki recomnded Shisui and Itachi, and Minato agreed as this seed a good choice, and it could also make the Uchiha Clan happy.
Shisui didn't want to be the Hokage, so Itachi had to take this responsibility.
Sasuke beca the new patriarch of the Uchiha Clan.
