Chapter 548: Qi Liberation Realm vs. Core Formation Realm (3)
‘He really is faster than me, even while fighting an entire realm below.’
That realization left her in disbelief, but it also filled her with fierce admiration.
She smiled even in that situation. Acknowledging an opponent’s superiority was not shameful; it was a lesson.
Even so, she did not lessen her attacks. Quite the opposite. Her Qi erupted pletely, a surge of energy that caused her armor to shine with an intense radiance. The spiritual sword in her hands glowed with blinding brilliance, and then hundreds of strands of blue light filled the entire arena.
They were like spider webs made of pure energy, each strand an invisible blade slicing through the air. It was a wide-ranging technique, designed to cover every possible escape route. There was nowhere to run, nowhere to hide.
Kyrian took a deep breath, the air entering his lungs like liquid fire.
Lightning wrapped around his entire body, a mantle of electricity that shone intensely. His eyes worked at their limit, his spiritual perception extending like an invisible net.
Every trajectory. Every opening. Every interval. Everything was calculated in a fraction of a second, a torrent of data processed by his trained mind.
Then, he moved.
His body cut through that storm of blades like a violet bolt of lightning, moving with superhuman precision. He dodged by mere centimeters, sometimes by mere millimeters. His clothes began to show small cuts, and a few drops of blood appeared on his arms, thin red lines against his pale skin.
But not a single blade truly struck him. Everyone passed close enough to cut but not close enough to wound. It was a dance with death, and Kyrian was the master choreographer.
By the time Luo Meilin realized it, Kyrian was already standing before her. His fist did not strike. Instead, two fingers formed a sword, a simple gesture carrying the weight of countless bolts of lightning.
A single movement. Silent and precise.
The tips of his fingers stopped directly in front of the young woman’s face, so close that she could feel the warmth of his spiritual energy.
A thin red line slowly appeared across her cheek, the cut so clean and precise that it took a full second before the blood began to emerge. Only then did a single drop of blood gently slide down her skin.
Silence fell over the arena. The world seemed to stop.
Luo Meilin remained motionless, her eyes fixed on Kyrian’s fingers. She understood immediately. That strike, with only a few more centimeters of force, could have easily pierced her eye or split her face apart.
But Kyrian had stopped the movement at the very last instant, his precision absolute not only in offense but also in control.
Breathing slowly, she sheathed her sword, the metal singing softly as it slid into the scabbard. Then she gave him a deep bow, a gesture of genuine respect.
“I lost.” Her voice was calm, free of bitterness.
“Your technique was superior.”
She gently raised her fingers to the small cut on her cheek, touching the blood with distant curiosity. A faint smile appeared on her lips, a smile of acknowledgment.
“Thank you… for stopping.”
Kyrian simply nodded, his violet eyes meeting hers with a calmness that bordered on serenity.
“It was a good fight.”
The referee immediately raised his hand, his voice cutting through the silence like thunder.
“Victory… Kyrian!”
The arena erupted into applause, a wave of sound that seemed to shake the very stone walls. Yet Luo Meilin and Kyrian remained still for a moment, two warriors sharing a silent understanding.
As Luo Meilin slowly left the stage, many cultivators continued staring at the small cut on her cheek. They all understood the meaning of that single wound. The difference between victory… and death.
…
Kyrian remained standing for a few moments, his eyes closed, his breathing still slightly heavy. The sound of the applause was distant, irrelevant. Inside his body, something far more important was happening.
He felt the flow of Qi course through his forehead, a river of energy that now flowed more smoothly, more freely.
The third dantian, which had once been a point of instability, a knot of unrefined power, vibrated gently, like a bell that had just been struck.
The tiny imperfections that had still existed, the microscopic cracks in his cultivation foundation, the misalignments within his meridians, and the slightly unbalanced energy all vanished pletely, like snow beneath the morning sun.
A faint smile appeared on his lips.
‘It’s consolidated.’
That battle had been enough. The stress, the pressure, the extreme limit to which he had pushed both his body and his Qi, all of it had fulfilled its purpose. The third dantian was now firm, stable, a solid anchor within his inner sea.
Kyrian decided to return to his courtyard to focus on the results of the battle. Besides, there was still time before the next petition.
Then, Kyrian quietly left the arena, moving through the crowd like a shadow.
No one tried to stop him, and no one dared approach him.
Instead of heading directly toward the prehension petition, which would take place later, he returned to the small courtyard of his temporary residence.
The path was short, but every step carried him closer to silence, to the solitude he needed so much.
As soon as he arrived, he calmly sat beneath the shade of the tree growing at the center of the courtyard. Its deep green leaves swayed gently with the breeze, casting shifting patterns of light and shadow across his skin.
He closed his eyes.
His breathing became slow and steady. Qi once again began circulating through his three dantians, a harmonious flow coursing throughout his entire body.
Each cycle further consolidated his newly refined foundation, polishing away every rough edge and smoothing every transition.
The world around him seemed to disappear.
There were no more grandstands. No more applause. No more battles. Only silence and cultivation.
And Kyrian, seated beneath the tree, was immersed in the depths of his own cultivation technique, the Mirrored Third Eye.
So, things have been tough for me. I ended up losing my job, and a lack of money has been an issue. The book is bringing in some extra ine, but not enough to make a living from it.
I’m wondering if I should really try to create another book and aim for a new contract, but I’m feeling discouraged. Anyway, I’ll keep posting at least two chapters a day here, even if they aren’t quite as good as I’d like them to be.
