Chapter 224: Minotaur’s Ability (2)

Chapter 222

Everybody paused for a brief mont as they saw the beast stagger backward for just a second before it clenched its mace tighter, glaring into their very souls.

"This is utterly hopeless," Chloe breathed in absolute despair.

Throughout the entire exchange, they had been unable to draw even a single drop of blood from the Minotaur.

How could they possibly hope to defeat it?

Looking back at Van, who was hurriedly reloading the final beast core into his arm cannon, the lightning surrounding the creature grew significantly brighter and more fierce.

It leaned forward, coiling its muscles to charge toward the boy.

Before it had the chance to move, Felix slid forward at full speed.

Claws were now on full display, accompanied by slight patches of fur as he hauled his hands forward, unleashing more than a dozen claw-shaped slashes of obsidian energy.

Trish frowned at the sight. ’Isn’t that the sa as Ray’s?’

The obsidian energy smashed into the beast’s face.

It didn’t cause any real damage, but it was enough to irritate the monster for a mont.

It lifted its mace toward the werewolf, intending to send a lethal blast of lightning his way.

Before it could fire, Ray bolted forward with all the speed he had remaining and quickly leaped onto the outstretched mace that was currently crackling with electricity.

Under everybody’s stunned gaze, he launched off the weapon as if it were a trampoline.

This maneuver put him in the air, directly in front of the beast, who stared at him with a mixture of confusion and shock.

"Screw you!" Ray shouted as he hamred his fist into the beast’s face with every ounce of strength in his body.

The hit was heavy, but it barely moved the beast more than an inch.

One might have wondered what the use of such a strike was—but the mont Ray landed on the ground, he acted before the beast could form a counterattack.

He ducked in between the Minotaur’s massive feet with swift agility, leaped behind it, and quickly curled around its neck like a constrictor.

He had put the beast in a chokehold.

With the veins in his neck and arms bulging, he began choking the monster with all his might.

Everybody blinked confusedly, unsure of what this was supposed to achieve against such a giant.

"What the hell are you waiting for? Fucking attack, you morons!" Ray bellowed angrily, even as he felt the lightning from the beast’s body prickling and stinging his skin.

Snapping out of their dazes, Caster was the first to move with overwhelming speed.

Felix followed a close second.

Within monts, Felix was before the beast, who was currently preoccupied with trying to rip the boy off its neck.

Felix’s muscles bulged incredibly as more fur appeared in an instant.

His claws glead dangerously in the lit cavern.

Then, with the raw strength of a heavy mountain, Felix smashed his fist into the beast’s midsection.

Bang!

The ground ruptured beneath the Minotaur as it paused for a heartbeat, its eyes bulging in sudden pain before it began sliding backward uncontrollably.

Ray didn’t relent; he began hamring his fists into the beast’s skull, one at a ti, without break or pause.

His hands crashed into the creature’s head again and again in a continuous, brutal barrage.

Caster was next.

He suddenly materialized beside the monster, his own leg bulging to its limit before he swung it forward in a perfect roundhouse kick toward the Minotaur’s ribs.

Watching from the side, Kai was utterly confused at the sight.

’Eh? How is he displaying overwhelming speed like that? And... I don’t think I was hallucinating, but it seems I saw him unleash claws earlier. Is he—is he a werewolf too?’

Boom!

The sound echoed out with imnse force, but a deep frown instantly appeared on Caster’s face at the sight in front of him.

The Minotaur’s mace!

It had intercepted his kick with impossible timing, sending a low, violent vibration coursing through his body that rattled his very bones with internal force.

Gritting his teeth against the numbing sensation, Caster kicked off the heavy weapon and darted backward just in ti.

A jagged bolt of lightning burst out from the mace, striking his previous position and turning the solid ground into a scorched, deep crater.

With a loud, guttural growl, the beast kicked backward while tottering away, yet Ray continued pomling it with hits, striking again and again in a desperate rhythm.

Before the Tribrid could realize what the creature was planning, he suddenly felt his back crushed against the cavern wall with bone-shattering force.

"Gah...."

[-5 HP]

[HP: 25/90]

His eyes almost rolled into the back of his head from the sheer force of the slam.

Clenching his jaw to maintain consciousness, Ray’s claws slid out as he tried to stab into the beast’s vulnerable eyes.

Unfortunately, the Minotaur was too fast; it swiftly shut its eyelids in ti, allowing the Tribrid’s claws to harmlessly slide away from its face.

"Leave my friend alone!" Van bellowed into the air.

A whirring sound followed, and then a thunderous crash erupted as a ball of energy rocketed forward with deadly speed.

Snapping its eyelids open, the Minotaur saw the projectile heading its way.

Though the energy blast wouldn’t hurt it significantly, it was surely a hassle to deal with.

In one fluid motion, the beast grabbed the Tribrid wrapped around its neck and hurled him away with terrifying force.

This put the Aspirant in the direct path of the beam that had been intended for the beast.

Gritting his teeth, a circular shield of light materialized behind Ray’s back, absorbing the impact from Van’s hand cannon.

Still, the residual force sent the Tribrid crashing into the ground and further ricocheting off the stone with imnse strength.

Digging his claws into the earth to anchor himself, he ca to a grinding halt, only for a massive shadow to be imdiately cast over him.

Looking up, he saw the beast flaring its nostrils at him, its mace lifted high above its head.

Lightning crackled around the weapon with lethal intent.

Van’s eyes widened in horror. "RAY!"

Everybody gasped, their bodies tensing to move, but they were far too distant.

With how far the Tribrid had been thrown and how fast the mace was already descending, they knew they wouldn’t be able to reach him in ti.

However, Caster and Felix still refused to stop, bolting forward with every ounce of speed they possessed.

The mace was descending with lightning velocity and was just a few inches away from the Tribrid’s head when Caster gritted his teeth and roared a command that shook the cavern:

"I summon you; Dark Wolf!"

GROWL—! Awhoooo!
