Chapter 223: Minotaur’s Ability (1)

Chapter 221

Crackle—!

A beam of lightning was seen rocketing towards the Tribrid at full, deadly speed.

Left with no other option, Ray pushed his body to its absolute limit.

Crackle—!

[Thunder Step Activated]

[-5 MF]

[MF: 5/80]

Bang!

Ray tried dashing over to the side in ti to dodge the beam but unfortunately, even with how fast he was with his ability, the beam tore through his side just as he was stepping away.

[-10 HP]

[HP: 30/90]

Red mist sprayed into the air as the boy staggered away from the direct path of the attack, which detonated on the ground with full force.

Debris and dust were blown up in an instant while the cavern shuddered for a mont, almost throwing the kids off their feet.

Ray landed on his knees, panting heavily with drops of sweat dripping down his forehead.

His hands imdiately flared to his side, which was gushing out blood.

His face twisted in pain as his passive skill kicked in, healing the injury at an astonishing rate compared to previous tis.

Grimacing in pain, everybody turned around to look at where the beam had landed.

To their utter shock, a crater had already ford in that spot.

A deep, scorched hole in the ground marked the point of impact.

In horror, they all turned to look at the Minotaur, who almost seed to be smirking devilishly.

"Uh... Please tell

I’m seeing things, guys," Van uttered as his body shuddered at what was happening next.

Crackle—! Crackle—! Crackle—!

Lightning could be seen arcing all around the beast, from the crown of its head to the hooves of its feet.

This included its mace; lightning was fizzling with such intensity that even the surrounding ground was being affected.

Cracks snaked through the earth as the Minotaur stared at them nacingly.

"Of course. How could it have slipped my mind! So beasts can have abilities too, especially if they are above the Advanced rank. Only rarely will an Advanced rank have an ability," Caster uttered in pure despair.

"What do we do—?" Chloe’s question hung in her throat as the beast lifted its mace above its head while staring at them all.

"Scatter!" Kai roared as he gripped his sword tighter and darted towards Chloe.

Without hesitation, he wrapped his arms around her waist before kicking away with full force.

Everybody imdiately surged to move because the Minotaur was bringing the mace down.

Within a second—

BAM! BOOOOOM!

A shockwave detonated across the cavern, smashing into the kids and throwing them away like leaves in a windstorm.

The whole cavern trembled as if a bomb had been detonated.

The crystals embedded on the walls and ceiling shuddered and clattered; so loose pieces fell and shattered against the earth.

The place the Minotaur struck turned into a massive crater.

Lightning was still fizzling around its body as it rose to its full height.

Then—

Bang!

It moved at quadruple the speed it had exerted before.

If earlier it could appear in front of soone in a second, right now it was doing it in a fraction of that ti.

In a flash, the beast was before Felix with its mace raised above its head.

It swung down with full force and speed—ready to crush the werewolf into a bloody pulp.

Felix’s heart skipped a beat as he was still disoriented from the shockwave earlier.

He felt too slow to move.

He didn’t have to because—

Click! BANG!

A ball of energy from Van flew across the air with blazing speed.

Within a second, it struck the mace with thunderous force, shifting the heavy weapon a few inches to the side.

This provided Felix with just enough ti to slam his feet into the midsection of the beast, moving it half a step backward and away from him.

This opening allowed the werewolf to jump backward, distancing himself from the Minotaur who flared its nostrils angrily.

Swooosh—! Swoooosh—!

A dozen ice spikes burst forth from Trish’s hand toward the beast, who spun around and swung his mace in a clean, wide arc.

He sent a slash of lightning smashing into the projectiles, instantly turning them into re shattered shards of ice.

Caster darted forward with imnse speed—sothing far too absurd for a normal human to exert.

It almost looked as if he had teleported, as he was suddenly positioned directly behind the creature.

He swiftly leaped into the air, prepared to deal significant damage to the beast’s rear.

Before he could strike, the lightning encasing the monster’s body grew brighter and more intense.

Then—

BOOOM!

Strikes of lightning burst from its body toward Caster with blazing speed.

’Shoot!’ The boy shouted inwardly and swiftly darted away using his teleportation-like skill.

The attack smashed into the wall behind the Minotaur, destroying the illuminating crystals embedded in the rock.

Spinning around, the Minotaur lifted his mace in front of his face.

Clang—!

It deflected a slash from Kai’s borrowed sword all too easily.

The beast’s hooved foot then lashed out toward the boy’s abdon.

However, just then, the blonde hair’s collar was roughly yanked backward, causing him to lose his grip on the sword, which began falling through the air.

The person who had yanked his collar rushed forward, catching the sword mid-air.

He proceeded to swerve around to dodge the hooved foot that smashed into the air with a thunderous crash.

In that sa breath, the silver-haired boy holding the sword hauled it forward, slamming it into the beast’s thigh and grazing the thick hide.

It wasn’t enough to draw blood, but it was still enough to sting the Minotaur.

Turning toward the boy in front of it, the beast’s eyes glead dangerously as it brought the mace down toward his head with blazing speed.

Seeing the impending doom, Ray yanked the sword away and promptly dove to the side, dodging the mace by the sheer skin of his teeth.

Wam!

The ground splintered under the force of the mace hitting the earth.

With its body arched forward from that slam, the Minotaur was montarily open for an attack.

A whirring sound echoed through the cavern, and in the next second, a bright ball of energy burst forward with rapid velocity.

Simultaneously, the beast core hooked to Van’s arm cannon turned lifeless.

Bam!

The energy whacked into the beast’s face with enough force to throw its head back and even push it a step away from its original position.
