"Manager, why do you say I... why haven’t I... hiss... beco smarter? Is it because I haven’t discovered how I’ve beco smarter?" Betty held her head, inhaling sharply as she washed the chopsticks.
"I think you haven’t beco smarter at all, you’ve actually beco dumber," Chen Ze said with a serious face, watching Betty. It would be quite troubleso if she turned into a fool one day.
"But I heard that it is still effective." Betty looked troubled, it seed she needed to find another way to beco intelligent.
Chen Ze sighed. If Scholar Syndro could be so easily acquired, the world might see the ergence of a profession dedicated to using sticks, collectively known as Stick Masters.
Then, based on the success rate of bonking people on the head, they would be divided into Stick Master, Stick King, Stick Emperor, and then they could transform into horses with stick qi... ah no, one hit and you could beco a scholar.
"The taste is not bad." Chen Ze shook his head, dismissing those strange thoughts, then picked up the Sun Mushroom that had just been roasted to give it a try.
Although the taste was still good, eating it felt quite strange. Sun Mushrooms were delicious, Moonlight Mushrooms were also nice, but mixing the two didn’t result in a particularly pleasant flavor.
"Looks like I need to make so changes." Chen Ze placed the Sun Mushroom and Moonlight Mushroom on the chopping board, intending to slowly research whether these two mushrooms could coexist.
"Eh, eh, eh? What is this place?" A strange male voice ca in, sounding like a middle-aged man, but it was odd, with a bit of a deliberate throaty inflection.
"Welco to Dream Restaurant~ Honored guest, what would you like to eat?" Betty looked curiously at the custor in front of her, feeling very conflicted.
"Eh? This is a restaurant? Then wait for a mont, this might not be very convenient for to eat." It was that sa odd accent.
"Um... alright." Betty wore that professional smile, worrying that if this went on any longer, she might not be able to hold back her laughter.
"What’s wrong?" Chen Ze ca out to take a look but didn’t see any custor, just Betty standing at the restaurant door, smiling at the air in front of her.
"Sigh... it’s over, truly an idiot." Chen Ze shook his head, it seed it was ti to get a new waiter.
Then the next second, Chen Ze saw a man wearing a red hat with a big M on it, dressed in red from head to toe.
"Uh..." Chen Ze looked at the big-moustached man in front of him, noting his attire, that demonic voice...
"Guest, do you happen to have a brother nad Luigi?" Chen Ze asked the middle-aged guy in front of him.
"Eh? Yes, how did you know? Oh, right, I’m Mario." Mario extended his hand towards Chen Ze in a very friendly manner.
"Nice to et you, I’m Chen Ze, manager and chef of the restaurant," Chen Ze said with a smile.
"Got any mushrooms? I’d like to eat so mushrooms," Mario said as he sat down with Betty and took a sip of the cola she passed him, grinning from ear to ear.
"Would a mushroom dish be alright?" Chen Ze wasn’t surprised; mushroom cuisine was quite nice, and there were many mushroom dishes in Huaxia cuisine.
Chen Ze went back to the kitchen and started preparing a dish from the Northeast, chicken stewed with mushrooms.
Chicken stewed with mushrooms, a dish said to originate from the Manchu people, typically involves dried mushrooms, chicken, and vermicelli, with a superb taste and a great eating experience.
Chen Ze had prepared so dried goods while grocery shopping, which included ingredients necessary for chicken stewed with mushrooms, so it was quite quick to make.
"And then I just stomped that little monster’s head flat—haha, you wouldn’t believe it, but every ti I do, that big Demon King Kuba just takes it back and reshapes it—" Mario was very chatty, sipping his cola and boasting to Betty.
"Haha... haha, that does sound pretty annoying," Betty laughed awkwardly, genuinely unsure of what to say.
"Betty, co in and serve the dishes," Chen Ze clapped his hands; the chicken and mushroom dish was ready.
"Okay," Betty rushed into the kitchen, relieved as if pardoned; she truly admired Mario—who had been able to talk non-stop about everything since he entered the restaurant, without any repetition.
From stomping on monsters to fixing pipes, then on to defeating the great Demon King Kuba, he could talk about anything in turn.
"Dear custor, here’s your chicken and mushroom dish, please enjoy," Betty placed the chicken and mushroom dish on the table, along with a bowl of white rice.
Watching Mario focused on his al, Betty finally breathed a sigh of relief, now she could really rest easy.
"This dish of yours is really super tasty; it reminds , the princess gets kidnapped by Kuba every year, and I have no idea why," Mario was extrely pleased.
The chicken and mushroom dish tasted fantastic and also had the tender flavor of chicken at.
Betty painfully covered her face, feeling like she was going to explode.
Then suddenly, a burst of light flashed through the restaurant, and to Betty’s astonishnt, Mario turned completely gold, shining brilliantly.
"Eh?" Betty was completely baffled, not understanding what was happening.
"Eh? Is this Sun Mushroom?" Mario was surprised; he really hadn’t expected to encounter sothing like the Sun Mushroom in this restaurant.
"It must be a misunderstanding," Betty already called Chen Ze out, who looked at Mario with confusion.
The chicken and mushroom dish was making Mario transform? Was it his mushrooms that had an issue, or was Mario’s constitution especially unique?
"Dear guest, please refrain from using your powers inside the restaurant," seeing Mario eager to try throwing fireballs, Chen Ze quickly stopped him.
"Really nice, Mr. Manager, I’ll bring Luigi next ti," Mario said after finishing his al, very satisfied; he liked the food here a lot.
"Luigi... what has he been up to lately?" Chen Ze asked, quite curious as he looked at Mario.
"Luigi recently, I heard, went to a scientist’s place; apparently, there’s a Ghost problem," Mario thought for a mont, then he answered Chen Ze’s question.
Could it be that Mario’s world was connected?
Having sent off the talkative Mario, Chen Ze yawned; Mario hadn’t given him anything, the al was paid for with Gold Coins, quite a lot, over a hundred.
"Betty, can you use these Gold Coins?" Chen Ze glanced at Betty while holding the Gold Coins.
"Probably not, oh, and Manager, what do you think this is?" Betty picked up a red mushroom from the chair and handed it to Chen Ze.
"Hmm? A Moonlight Mushroom??"
