Chen Ze’s mouth twitched, the creature wriggling on the table in front of him looked undeniably like so type of worm, and just looking at it was enough to make anyone feel slightly uncomfortable.

"It really reminds of the kind of worm Master Pei once ate..." Chen Ze was sowhat speechless.

It was indeed very similar to those big white worms, except this one had a dark brown exterior with so light red spots scattered on it.

"Correct, worms, to be precise, Hell Crawlers, which are considered a rather rare delicacy in our place." phisto nodded earnestly. He had chosen this because Chen Ze’s cooking this ti was simply too amazing, he couldn’t think of a better way to pay for the al.

"Phew... So, how do you guys eat this... Hell Crawler?" Watching the worm on the table continuously writhing, Chen Ze took a deep breath and asked.

"Raw, although I’ve heard that so demons and devils cook them by roasting or boiling too, but all things considered, eating them raw is the better option." phisto stuck out his long tongue, seeming to have whet his own appetite with the talk.

"Raw?" Betty was shocked; just looking at the worm was enough to make her reject it on a physical level, not to ntion feeling disgust, and phisto dared to eat it raw?

Watching Chen Ze wear a troubled face, Betty quietly took a few steps back. She was now quite worried that Chen Ze would throw her under the bus to take his place, and that she would once again beco a guinea pig.

Chen Ze hadn’t even thought that far, he was just feeling queasy. After all, asking that question now seed a bit foolish to him, as a food that looked like it would burst upon one bite hardly seed like sothing you could slice.

Common knowledge dictated that creatures like these big fat worms were ninety-five percent liquid inside, and it was rare to find a muscle-bound worm; if you cut it, the liquid oozing onto the cutting board was an inevitability.

Once the bodily fluid was gone, eating the big worm would amount to nothing more than munching on a layer of skin, which certainly couldn’t taste too good.

"What about you, Betty? Want to give it a try?" Chen Ze looked at Betty. After all, she was a succubus, and it wasn’t impossible that she shared phisto’s tastes.

"No, I refuse, I don’t want it, please be human." Betty imdiately shook her head and decisively ran back to the kitchen with phisto’s utensils, convinced they were exceptionally filthy and in need of a thorough cleaning.

"Manager, are you afraid to eat this?" phisto looked at Chen Ze curiously, as he had assud that upon presenting such a highly reputed delicacy from the Multiverse, Chen Ze would be eager to devour it.

"It’s not that..." Not a chance! Who would eat this? Do you think everyone is Master Pei?

"I would like to ask, what does this Hell Crawler usually feed on in Hell?" Chen Ze decided to eat it, but he needed to get this question answered before doing so.

"Hellwood, but Hellwood is rare, so it’s not easy to find." phisto explained.

"I see..." Chen Ze felt regret inside; this basically ant he had no excuse not to eat it.

Damn it.

Chen Ze took a deep breath and picked up the Hell Crawler, and under Betty’s astonished gaze, he slowly put it into his mouth.

Betty was flabbergasted by the turn events took in Magic Capital; she really hadn’t expected Chen Ze to willingly eat the worm, assuming at most he’d keep it and serve it to other custors.

"Manager, I, Betty, now proclaim you the strongest!" Betty shook her head, then ca back and continued to wash her dishes.

The mont he put it in his mouth, Chen Ze regretted it; mainly because the Hell Crawler was alive, so it started wriggling inside Chen Ze’s mouth, which was extrely uncomfortable.

"Manager, you need to bite it to death quickly; otherwise, it won’t die in your stomach and will instead co out of your... behind," phisto added leisurely.

"!" Chen Ze was shocked; he hadn’t expected that stomach acid wouldn’t kill this damn worm.

Not wanting to see the worm when he next visited the toilet, Chen Ze closed his eyes, steeled his heart, and then bit down hard.

The first sensation was an explosion of juices; a copious amount of worm fluid instantly filled Chen Ze’s mouth, with more and more seemingly on the way.

The worm juice even splattered onto Chen Ze’s teeth.

However, surprisingly, the juice wasn’t disgusting at all; it had no weird or nauseating taste but rather an indescribable deliciousness.

It was like being sunburned during the hottest part of the day and then entering an air-conditioned smoothie shop to have a sip of ice-cold waterlon juice.

It was like after endless days of the dreaded 996 schedule, being dragged by a friend to play basketball all day, feeling tired out of one’s mind, then collapsing onto one’s own cozy bed, with a skilled masseuse there to soothe your body.

The taste was incredibly hard to describe; eating this Hell Crawler made Chen Ze feel as if all seven deadly sins within him had been satisfied at once, giving him an urge he couldn’t resist to eat another.

"Manager... are you alright?" Betty leaned in, asking with concern.

"Hm? Oh, I’m fine, I’m fine. It’s just that the deliciousness of this thing is really surprising," Chen Ze opened his eyes, only then realizing that phisto had left.

And without noticing, Chen Ze had finished the whole Hell Crawler and even found himself wanting another one.

"Wow, I definitely wouldn’t dare to eat that," Betty shook her head. Even if Chen Ze said it was very tasty, she refused.

After all, she had been tricked by Chen Ze before.

"Talk too much more, and I’ll make you try the rye black bread yourself," Chen Ze glanced at Betty, aware of her little sche.

"Psh, it’s just bread," Betty didn’t care and even felt like laughing.

"Oh?" Chen Ze smiled and pulled out a bag of brown, holey bread from his storeroom stone and handed it to Betty.

"Eh?" Betty looked at Chen Ze in astonishnt; she hadn’t expected Chen Ze would actually carry it on him.

"The rye black bread is made in the volcanic region, with a refreshing wheat aroma and a hint of caral, soft texture, very suitable for you," Chen Ze said with a smile.

This bread was sothing Chen Ze had bought online, its origin being Iceland, which was pretty authentic.

Betty opened the bag hesitantly and was imdiately assaulted by an overpoweringly foul stench of fart, so pungent it made her want to vomit uncontrollably.

"Ugh... Manager... you’ve sched against !" Betty was utterly frazzled.

Chen Ze stood far away, what a joke, otherwise, why do you think the Icelandic rye black bread is on the list of dark cuisines?
