After listening to Landon Sutton’s remarks, Simon Rhodes teased, "Looking at the progress between you and Shannon, a second child might not be far off."
Shannon Quinn lowered her head, a bit shy and silent, while Landon Sutton laughed and said, "How’s it going between you and the Yates Family’s daughter? You’ve been together for so long, why not pick a date and we’ll hold our weddings together?"
ntioning Rhea Fawcett, Simon Rhodes said, "I don’t have any plans to marry her. We’re just being each other’s shields to prevent our parents from pressuring us into marriage."
"So do you like her or not?"
"Since when did you beco so gossipy?"
"I’m just concerned about your lifelong matters. You’re getting older, it’s ti to get married. If things are going well, just settle it."
"Don’t worry about my affairs, you should think seriously about making it up to Shannon with a proper wedding."
Upon hearing that Simon Rhodes seemingly had a partner, Shannon Quinn dropped the idea of introducing Susan Wilde to him.
Looking back now, Simon Rhodes and Susan Wilde did have so interaction a few years ago, but after all this ti, probably neither of them rembers the other. It’s better for her not to ddle.
In the morning, Shannon Quinn went with Landon Sutton to his company, her first ti there.
He seed different at work compared to the usual, more serious and focused.
He went to a eting, leaving Shannon to wait obediently in the office.
Being there for the first ti, she curiously explored the secrets of his office, finding mostly so complicated docunts or books.
She sat in his usual office chair, feeling as though her own presence was more commanding.
While playing with his pen, a female assistant knocked and entered: "President Sutton, this is this month’s..."
The assistant didn’t finish her sentence before seeing Shannon Quinn sitting in the chair, leaving her stunned. Seeing this, Shannon Quinn said, "Oh, he’s in a eting, just leave the materials here. I’ll inform him when he returns."
The female assistant wasn’t sure of Shannon Quinn’s identity, but seeing her casually sitting in the boss’s office, she could guess there was sothing special about their relationship.
The assistant nodded and smiled at Shannon Quinn, placed the docunt on the table edge, curious about her identity but not daring to ask, explained briefly about the docunt, and then left the office.
Returning to the assistant office, the gossip started: "Hey, do you know what I just saw in the boss’s office?"
"The boss? Hasn’t the boss not been in the company for a long ti?"
"He ca today, I saw him at the conference room’s entrance earlier, still as handso as ever!"
"Let tell you! I just saw a girl sitting in the boss’s office, looks like the boss has found soone!"
Hearing that the perpetually single boss had a woman by his side, the assistant office exploded into chatter: "A girl? What does she look like?"
"Are you sure you saw right? Could it be soone familiar to the boss?"
"Pretty and without any airs, she even smiled at when I delivered the docunts. Her smile left this girl defenseless, she really is beautiful! If you don’t believe , find an excuse to go look, I’m not exaggerating!"
"Speaking of which, I did see a girl with the boss at the elevator this morning, looked like a fresh graduate, thought she was a newly hired assistant."
"Fresh graduate? So just a bit over twenty? Our boss is thirty, right? Maybe she’s his sister or a relative?"
"Doesn’t seem like it, I saw her sitting in the boss’s chair just now, seed like I was seeing the boss’s wife for that mont!"
"What’s wrong with thirty? He doesn’t look old, and besides, a man at thirty is in his pri. I’d marry him even if he’s twenty years older!"
"Stop dreaming, if he’s twenty years older, he might have kids ready to get married!"
During the morning, the news of the boss having a girlfriend spread throughout the company.
Even though it was just idle gossip, it inevitably reached Landon Sutton’s ears.
Hearing these words, Landon Sutton felt quite cheerful instead.
After briefing Ronan Rhodes on so work matters, Landon Sutton went straight back to the office, opening the door to see Shannon Quinn sitting in his seat, flipping through an economics book.
"Can you understand it?"
Seeing him return, Shannon Quinn closed the book, puckered her lips, and said, "Just browsing out of boredom. An assistant brought in so docunts saying it’s a summary from last month, please review and sign it."
Landon Sutton nodded, glanced at his watch, and said, "Let’s leave it for now and go ho for lunch. In the afternoon, we’ll go see our son."
Shannon Quinn agreed with Landon Sutton’s arrangent, although she originally intended to play around for a bit, now she missed her son even though he was with her every day.
They went back to the Rhodes Family for lunch, where they spotted Shane Royale instructing the butler to tidy up the newly bought toys, from robots to remote-controlled cars and planes, pretty much toys any little boy would like.
Shannon Quinn finally understood Shane Royale’s hidden affections and no longer felt so intimidated by the old man.
During the al, Landon Sutton ntioned to Simon Rhodes about leaving in the afternoon, and Shane Royale said, "This weekend, bring your son back. Your eldest nephew is getting married."
"Shawn Rhodes?"
"Yes."
Shannon Quinn wasn’t familiar with the Rhodes Family relatives, so she would simply follow Landon Sutton’s arrangents then.
They boarded a flight around two in the afternoon, arriving at the airport around five.
Julian Yardley drove with Leo and Catherine Yardley to pick them up.
"Mom!" Leo cheered, running joyfully towards Shannon Quinn, who squatted down ready to hold him, only for Landon Sutton to step in first and intercept.
Landon Sutton picked Leo up in one swift motion, asking, "Did you miss daddy?"
"Yes, I missed you every day!"
Standing up beside Landon Sutton, Shannon Quinn asked enviously, "And what about ?"
"I missed you too! Mom, can you take with you next ti you travel?"
Landon Sutton smiled and said, "We’ll take you next week."
Leo was overjoyed hearing this, and Catherine Yardley walked over to Shannon Quinn, deliberately pulling her back a bit to gossip about her and Landon Sutton’s progress during this period.
Julian Yardley still seed impatient with everyone, but obediently acted as their driver.
Midway through the drive, his phone rang, and since he was driving, he put it on speaker.
A girl’s voice ca through as soon as it connected: "Where did you go? I couldn’t find you at your office."
