Chapter 46: Intimidation

Victor could, of course, do it.

But it would be a long process.

He would need to call for support from his clan, perhaps even the Heavenly Thunder Sect.

What he hoped for... was success through intimidation alone.

After all, it had worked on Lukas—so what about Martin?

Martin’s face was filled with anger, yet there was also clear fear and unease.

Having no family, he valued his friends deeply.

He was not like Evan—selfish and shaless.

"You’re truly cruel," he finally said to Victor.

"Make your decision now," Victor replied calmly.

"Can you only rely on your background?" the young man still refused to give in.

"If you have the ability, do it yourself without it."

"A background is part of a person’s strength," Victor answered.

"Do you dare duel ?"

"Duel?" Victor showed interest.

"You want to duel?"

"Yes. If you win, my Bloodline is yours. But if you lose, you must admit that you are inferior to those without your background."

"Why go through all that trouble?" Victor shrugged.

"I can just force you. You only need to publicly announce that you handed over your Bloodline because you lost a bet."

Martin, "..."

Victor chose to refuse the duel.

He still didn’t want to reveal his strength.

If it were exposed, he worried people might beco too fearful.

And of course, he also needed a reasonable public explanation for taking Martin’s Bloodline.

"Hahaha, Martin... oh Martin. Do you know how powerful the Young Master’s mother is?" Evan continued, pressing the intimidation further.

"She attacked the Dragon Blood Sect, and with just one strike, she forced the ancestors back underground. Do you think this academy would dare oppose her? No—no one would dare. Even the fierce Lady Jade Sovereign only dared to show herself briefly before leaving, not even daring to touch the Young Master."

"In fact, even the Holy Light Sect probably wouldn’t dare. That’s why no one opposes the Young Master’s engagent to their Heavenly Woman."

"What are you doing in there?" a woman’s voice suddenly rang out from outside.

"That’s Layla Habsburg," Evan said in surprise.

"Martin, are you inside? What are they doing to you?" the voice called again.

BANG!

The door was forcefully pushed open, revealing a beautiful young woman in a green dress. Her long black hair flowed in slightly wavy curls.

Her figure was full yet still slender, curving gracefully.

Victor guessed she was Charles Habsburg’s younger sister—the Human Young Monarch—based on her surna.

She carried an air of arrogance and confidence.

It was said she was the Student Council President of the academy.

"Evan, are you threatening Martin?" she asked sharply. When her gaze landed on Victor, it beca even sharper—though there was also a hint of surprise.

"Threatening? We’re just collecting on a promise," Evan replied casually.

"A promise?" Layla frowned, confused, while Martin looked utterly shocked.

"He challenged the Young Master and bet his Bloodline to be extracted if he lost. Now that he’s lost, he has to hand it over," Evan explained.

Martin looked as if he couldn’t believe what he was hearing.

But Victor gave him a sharp, unwavering gaze.

Martin couldn’t deny his fear.

If Victor brought this to his mother and demanded the Bloodline, he would be helpless.

Alex had been a clear example.

No one could protect him—his Heaven-grade talent had been forcibly taken.

Then there was Lukas from the Heavenly Thunder Sect.

His fate hadn’t been much better. He had nearly been destroyed, only saved by soone at the last mont.

"Is that true, Martin?" Layla asked.

"Yes..." Martin finally nodded.

He couldn’t think of any way to fight back.

He could only hope—like Alex—that losing one thing might lead to gaining sothing else.

For him, losing the Heaven Mountain Bloodline was a devastating loss—but it didn’t an complete ruin.

He still cultivated a Heaven-grade rit Law that complented it.

Layla frowned upon hearing his admission.

She didn’t know whether it was right or wrong.

But if Martin admitted it, there was nothing she could say.

The academy did not forbid gambling.

If both parties agreed, even betting one’s life was allowed.

Such things were inevitable among cultivators.

In truth, most cultivators died at the hands of other cultivators.

Otherwise, the world would have long been overcrowded given their lifespans.

Victor smiled faintly at Martin’s admission.

"How about you co with ," he said, patting his shoulder.

He planned to visit the bald elder—he still didn’t know how to extract a Bloodline.

The four of them stepped out of the house, confusing the students outside, who had no idea what had happened.

Then suddenly, Evan announced loudly:

"Martin lost a bet and will pay with his Bloodline!"

"What?!"

The crowd of students was stunned.

"What bet?"

"Paying with his Bloodline? That’s basically half his life!"

"What actually happened? When did they even bet?"

"How dare you!"

A furious aura suddenly erupted.

In the next instant, a massive middle-aged man—nearly three ters tall—appeared.

He wore an open robe. His long hair and scar-covered face alone were enough to intimidate many students.

"Mountain Master!" the students greeted.

"Master!" Martin lowered his head.

"Mountain Master, this is a matter between students," Evan said without fear.

"When did that bet happen? Tell —what bet?!" Mountain Master glared at him.

He found it utterly unreasonable.

Victor had just arrived at the academy before leaving with Alexandra.

How could his disciple suddenly have lost a bet?

He wasn’t foolish—he could clearly sense sothing was off.

"Do you really need that much explanation?" Victor asked calmly.

The large man frowned upon hearing Victor speak.

Unlike his disciple, he was sharp enough to realize this boy was the real problem.

His face flushed red with anger, yet he hesitated to directly lash out.

"Oh right... are you trying to say that the Bloodline belongs to your clan, and Martin has no right to bet it?" Victor chuckled.

"What if I send soone to ask your clan head—or even your ancestor directly?"

Mountain Master’s chest rose sharply at those words.
