The moonlight paved their way forward. Han Li and his fiance, Shan Liyue walked towards her ho with calm steps. Liyue had the urge to start a conversation but couldn't bring herself to speak. Han Li was also silent.
They each had a small cover filled with packed and fresh food in their hands and as she walked, Liyue needed sothing to focus her gaze on, so she looked at the packet in Han Li's hands.
'Why is it so stable? His hand is so steady…'
It was like the package didn't know it was being held. As if walking didn't affect the cover's movents.
Han Li briefly paused and looked at a house so distance away. With lanterns outside lighting up the surroundings of the house that was considerably bigger than his own thatched house. "…That's my house," she said in a weak voice.
"I know," Han Li nodded and looked at her and she involuntarily looked back at him. "Let's go et your mother first."
Liyue nodded and they both walked up to the house. She used a key to open the door and took one of the lanterns to light the way ahead. Han Li entered the house and followed her.
She took the food from his hands and placed them on a table in the dining area. "Mom is bedridden in our room… we sleep together since she might need my help if the pain suddenly hits."
Han Li nodded. She took a deep breath and brought him towards a room that had so candles lit inside. Entering the room, she looked at her mother to make sure she was not in any kind of embarrassing situation and invited Han Li in. Li Yao, her mother, was looking at them with brightened eyes.
"Mom…" slightly bashful, Liyue helped her mother sit up slightly. Han Li, on the other hand, looked at her in amusent.
Indeed, no wonder the Fat guy had a daughter as beautiful as his fiance. His mother-in-law was quite the beauty. She had long black hair and pretty black eyes. Due to being an Awakened, his senses were clear even though the room was dimly lit. Li Yao was a beautiful woman with bountiful assets.
Her plain white robes only added to the mature charm. Even though she looked tired and sleepy, her eyes had this vibrancy and life that he rarely saw in won her age and status. Even though she was more than 45, she barely seed more than 35.
"Are you the boy going to marry Liyue?" she asked with an interested tone.
Han Li smiled. "Yes, I am."
"You surely caught quite the catch, Liyue." Li Yao chuckled: "Handso and polite to boot."
Liyue blushed and said, "Mom, he is here to speak with you…"
Li Yao smiled. "I know him. Boy, are you the girl Yue Li's son?"
"I am," Han Li nodded. His mother was quite famous due to the scandal of his birth and as soone from the Starlight Zone, it was not surprising that she knew her. "Do you know my mother?"
"I don't really know her but I have seen her before… I saw her many tis. She was one of the most popular girls in her pri after all. You won't believe how many n wanted to woo her."
"Ah, I heard about that…" Han Li smiled thinking about that part of her history. "She went for a small journey outside of the clan at that point."
That was the main reason she ran away for a while. And on the way back, she ca with a child, and that child was him.
"What is your na?" she asked.
Liyue brought a chair for him and he sat on it before answering. "Han Li. I t Uncle Li earlier and spoke about our marriage… I thought I should also co to et you."
"Her Father?" Li Yao nodded hesitantly, but then said with a smile: "By the way, you can just call Mother-in-law, even Mother alone is fine."
Her daughter blushed from the side.
"So, Mother-in-law, what do you think about marrying Liyue?" Han Li asked while looking at the blushing Liyue. This girl indeed had charm.
"I am fine with it. If my fatso husband allowed you to marry her, he must have known you are the best choice. He rarely ever makes bad decisions. And look at my daughter blushing… I never saw it before the first marriage was canceled. I bet she likes you."
'Mom!' Liyue exclaid in her mind out of embarrassnt. Had Han Li not been there, she would have imdiately run away.
Han Li chuckled. "I should have brought so wine for you. You seem like the perfect person to have a cup with."
Li Yao's eyes brightened. "Do that next ti or I won't give my daughter to you. Bring so great wine!"
"Sure!" Han Li smirked.
Liyue wondered in her mind, 'He likes wine?'
Han Li then asked, "By the way, can I look at your condition?"
Li Yao raised an eyebrow.
"As I said, I have a bigger background behind . My father is not from the Starlight Clan after all. So I learned so dicine in my younger years… maybe I can at least relieve so of your pain?"
"Oh…" She knew Han Li's father was often rumored to be so mysterious man. Nobody knew who impregnated Yue Li after all.
Han Li smirked inside, 'Father Fruit is such a nice man.'
"I am not sure but I can indeed check."
Liyue asked nervously, "What does she have to do?" Her father had told her Han Li might have a prestigious background. So, she was hopeful his tricks worked!
"Nothing much, just give your hand." Han Li showed her his hand. Li Yao didn't hesitate and placed her soft hands on his.
A red Spark awakened in his other hand. Lust Spark could absorb the emotion of Lust and transform it into Energy. All Sparks could absorb Soul Energy. Even Starlight Sparks could absorb it. But each person's soul energy was different from one another. That made it impossible for soone to absorb another person's Energy.
