Elias then turned his gaze toward the Knight of Darkness and asked him, his eyes turning golden to show him that he wasn't fooled, "How long ago did you kill Johan? A corrupted soul can be saved, but a Knight of Darkness stands no chance of surviving in Lena's light. So, do you want to confess now or wait for my son and his life partner to extract the information we need from you?"
Roman looked at Johan with wide eyes. What Elias had just said left no doubt that his best friend, the one he considered a brother, was dead and had been replaced by soone else.
Roman was so stunned by this news that his reflexes were too slow; but fortunately for him, before the latter could plunge a presumably deadly dagger into his ribs, black flas of phenonal power enveloped his body, and Ian then said, in a threatening tone, "Don't touch him!"
In an instant, Ian had transford once again, and black and golden flas covered his body. Even Elias was surprised by his speed of action, but the Knight of Darkness, after being wounded by Ian's black flas, disappeared before they could stop him.
The dagger he had intended to use to kill Roman had fallen to the ground, and, using spiritual energy, Ian made it fly in front of Caleb, who took it and said to everyone, "The preferred weapon of Lilith's henchn, a blade made of corium impregnated with black particles and hydra venom."
He added, extending it to Elias, "Even Roman would have succumbed to a simple cut made with this dagger."
Elias nodded, and Malo and Glen then appeared beside him. Malo said, furrowing his brow—after all, he was their expert in energy signatures, "I wasn't sure before because his Drakonit side almost concealed it, but he is also a hybrid, half Drakonit and half chaleon."
Glen said, "I've inford Tarik and Lanis about the situation, and they are ready for your orders."
Roman, still in shock, then asked them, "Isaac told that you have fought many tis recently against Lilith. Elias, is it possible that Johan is still alive? Please answer honestly."
Elias placed a reassuring hand on his shoulder and said, "Perhaps yes, perhaps no; it really depends on when Johan was captured... Do you have any idea?"
Roman looked at his n, and one with a corrupted soul stepped forward and said, "Four days ago, we went to exchange resources in the sa world as usual. After the transaction was completed, we all went our separate ways to do so personal shopping, and when we t at the agreed ti and place to return ho, when my eyes t his, I felt a murderous intent. It was quick, and after that I didn't feel anything wrong anymore, but it still gave the chills."
Roman then said, "I didn't feel anything unusual when Johan—or rather, this hybrid—returned. I wanted to keep an eye on him after what Leo had told , which seed strange coming from Johan, but a few hours later we were attacked, and the fighting lasted three days and three nights. This hybrid fought by our side as Johan would have... But now that I think about it, we lost many great warriors during that battle, and this hybrid was always the one to report their deaths to ."
As Roman clenched his fists in frustration, trying to focus on the situation rather than the hatred he felt toward this hybrid or the fear of having truly lost Johan forever, he said, "This hybrid, during my duel with Ian, tried to destabilize by claiming that a portal had just opened in a desolate area where none of my patrols could verify his words. He wanted us to send you ho as quickly as possible. He said that we were strong enough to defend ourselves now."
He added, looking at Elias, "I assu no portal was opened, right?"
Elias shook his head and said, "I ca with a team of elite Warrior Spirits, so don't worry; we'll be alerted at the first sign of trouble."
Roman looked reassured, and Leo then said, "Everything makes sense now! When Roman agreed to et Ian and the other Drakonits and warned us about the impending war against the Titans, this hybrid tried to persuade us not to get involved. Johan would never have done that; he would have been in favor of this fight, which seems so important for our entire Universe."
The other henchn of Roman nodded, and Elias added, "Well said, kid! Indeed, the Johan you just described resembles much more the one I rember."
Tarik then said to him via their telepathic link, "This hybrid has just reappeared here. He must have a personal dinsion to have been able to teleport here."
Elias quickly replied, "Follow him, don't lose sight of him; Johan may be held prisoner here! I'm sending Isaac and Jordan to join you. If Johan is indeed here and alive, he will likely need urgent dical attention, and Jordan is the most competent among us in this area."
He signaled to Isaac to go, and the latter imdiately vanished with Jordan. Elias then explained to Roman, "We've located this hybrid. If Johan is being held captive, my n will find him, and Isaac's partner is a very powerful Mage. No matter how severe Johan's injuries are, if he is alive, he will heal him."
Roman then asked him, even more frustrated, "Why do we have to wait? I want to go as well!"
After all, they were talking about Johan's life, but Elias said to him, "So of your n have corrupted souls, and there are others in the crowd as well. We can heal them, but it won't be without risk. If their souls have been too damaged by Lilith and her tortures, and if she can control them, they will die. However, for those who haven't beco her puppets yet, they will be freed from her grasp forever."
