Chapter 369: Chapter 10: The Unwelco Guest

Anyone could tell that Lin Xiaoguai had been in a great mood these past few days. Su Qianqian, leaning on the counter, curiously asked, “Where did you and Shen Chi go last ti? Why are you still so happy?”

Through Shen Yinian’s account, everyone around them had heard that the couple had ditched their children for a day to spend ti alone.

“We watched a movie and flew kites,” Lin Xiaoguai casually said.

“Just that?” Su Qianqian was sowhat disappointed.

“You and Chen Han could try it too,” Lin Xiaoguai suggested. “You two haven’t gone out together in a long ti, have you?”

Su Qianqian was montarily tempted, just about to speak when the pleasant sound of a wind chi signaled the arrival of custors at the door.

She swallowed back the words on her lips.

“Welco,” Lin Xiaoguai greeted with a laid-back and smiling tone.

“Are you Lin Xiaoguai?” said one of the four won who walked in, as Lin Xiaoguai was still sizing them up.

Lin Xiaoguai turned to the speaker and slightly furrowed her brow, imperceptibly. Hu Fangfang?

“Xiao Guai, what are you doing here? Is this your shop?” Hu Fangfang asked excitedly.

With a cool deanor, Lin Xiaoguai replied, “No harm done.” She still rembered what Hu Fangfang had done.

Although those tis, bringing a bunch of military wives was ant just for inquiries, the action itself was coercive. And when the military wives got greedy seeing things in the house and started taking them outright, even if Hu Fangfang was taken aback then, it didn’t an she would forgive her.

Being soone who had lived through five decades, she preferred to look at outcos and had little patience for so-called hardships and unintended actions.

After all, even involuntary manslaughter carries a sentence.

“Shuhui, Xiang Ling, Hong Yu, that’s wonderful! This shop belongs to my friend. I can ask her to give us a discount,” Hu Fangfang, completely missing Lin Xiaoguai’s coolness, happily told her companions.

Lin Xiaoguai’s face turned stern. Indeed, one could never have too many expectations of this woman.

On the side, resolved to stay silent, Su Qianqian was dumbfounded. Even without understanding social niceties, she felt sothing was off in Hu Fangfang’s words. What did she an by getting a discount from Xiao Guai? As if she owned the shop? And Xiao Guai obviously didn’t want to deal with her. How could she be so presumptuous?

Although Su Qianqian and Hu Fangfang were once both known as won in the Magic City Guard Zone not to be trifled with, it was clear they didn’t know each other.

“Really?” A prettily made-up woman smiled, “That’s great! I heard the cheapest item here costs quite a bit, and I was worried I didn’t bring enough money.”

She turned to Lin Xiaoguai with a smile: “Then, I’ll have to trouble you, boss.”

She acted unabashedly opportunistic, either truly unaware or feigning ignorance.

Unable to stand it any longer, Su Qianqian was about to curse out loud when she saw Lin Xiaoguai give her a look and, without glancing at the strange woman, she turned to Hu Fangfang with an almost-smiling expression: “If I rember correctly, the bond we had ended because of what you did last ti. Did I say sothing I don’t rember that made you think you could take root here?”

Hu Fangfang was initially stunned, then said sorrowfully: “Xiao Guai, haven’t you forgiven what happened before? It wasn’t intentional, I didn’t expect them to…”

Lin Xiaoguai raised her hand in a stopping gesture, “I’m not interested in hearing these excuses; I was narrating, not asking. Whether in the past or now, I never considered our relationship close enough to compromise my own interests for your vanity and pride.”

“So,” she looked deeply at Hu Fangfang, “please have so self-awareness.”

For soone like Hu Fangfang, it was all about vanity; helping others and exhibiting kindness to receive thanks and praise. If not vanity, what was it?

“You, you…” Hu Fangfang was taken aback, feeling her face burn despite her usual thick skin. Previously, when people criticized her, she didn’t mind because as long as she showed generosity and tolerance, others would surely bla the criticizer, exactly what she wanted.

But Lin Xiaoguai’s words cut to the core, stripping away her facade.

Of course, in Hu Fangfang’s mind, she still saw herself as unfairly maligned, she was just being kind, she could help others, how could Xiao Guai be so ungrateful, all over a little bit of money?
