Chapter 368: Chapter 9: The Weight of the World_2

Lin Xiaoguai froze, but she heard Shen Chi continue, “We also need to take wedding photos. Didn’t you think the ones we took before were too simple? You can wear your favorite Qipao, and we can take as many pictures as we want, then compile them into an album, would that be okay?”

Coming from the future, Lin Xiaoguai had never thought about using her knowledge to seek benefits, but inevitably, she would reveal a bit in her daily life. She was more cautious around others, but she tended to be more lax with Shen Chi, expressing views that might reveal her origins from the future.

She did not expect that he rembered everything.

“Are you serious?” Although Lin Xiaoguai was often said to be unworldly, she was still living in this world after all, and as a woman who had her heart stirred, she longed for the earthly happiness.

Therefore, like any ordinary woman, she wanted to have a perfect wedding and take beautiful wedding photos.

Unfortunately, in her two lifetis, she had only experienced one wedding banquet while she was unconscious.

As a person born in the 1960s, even after experiencing the future, so inherent ideas were unchangeable. For instance, she strongly disapproved of the modern concept of “naked weddings,” believing that a wedding ceremony was, in so ways, more important than getting a marriage license.

Without a solemn ceremony, it was rely a perfunctory approach to marriage, a careless attitude that could likely bring long-lasting negative impacts, even shortening the marriage’s lifespan.

So, no matter how much Shen Chi pampered her, trusted her, and cherished her, she felt sothing was missing.

Perhaps it was precisely because it was missing that she valued it so greatly.

“Of course, it’s true.” Shen Chi felt a slight pain in his heart; Wanwan indeed cared about it.

He looked around and, seeing that no one was passing by, Shen Chi reached out to embrace Lin Xiaoguai, whispering in her ear, “Wanwan, will you marry ?”

Upon hearing from Jiang Tao that it was popular abroad for n to propose to won, Shen Chi had planned to give it a try. He knew that there were likely only two things Wanwan truly cared about in her life: one was his initial forceful thods to make her marry him; the other was almost losing Little Niangao.

The latter had already happened, and so had the forr… but there was still a chance to make ands.

However, having said it, he began to feel anxious.

What if Wanwan, in a mont of spite, said no, she wouldn’t?

Then, pretend it was never heard!

Shen Chi didn’t struggle for long before making a stubborn decision.

That’s why they say, so people’s nature never changes.

Unfortunately, Lin Xiaoguai was unaware of Shen Chi’s thoughts. At this mont, she was in tears, realizing that she had always cared.

She cared about Shen Chi’s coercion, not about him enticing her four brothers to sell her, but about the coercion itself.

She cared about the marriage that felt like a joke, where she passively accepted as if she were a puppet on strings.

Things she once thought were trivial, she now realized she cared about deeply.

She hugged Shen Chi tightly, crying uncontrollably, burying her head deep into his chest to avoid letting him see her disheveled state.

Shen Chi did not press her, continuously patting her back, though his eyes darkened deeper, as he was unaware that Wanwan cared to such an extent; it seed this action was right.

He gave a slight, bitter smile. If ti could be reversed, he definitely would… wait until Wanwan was well enough to be awake and aware at their wedding, or perhaps not rush into marriage, first getting engaged to her and gradually winning her over.

Too bad there were no ifs. At that ti, he did not know he was not a bastard, he couldn’t see the way forward, so he clung to what he could.

As Lin Xiaoguai’s trembling ceased, Shen Chi knew she had finished crying and took out a handkerchief from his pocket to hand to her.

Lin Xiaoguai wiped her tears, and just when Shen Chi thought she would not respond to his proposal, he heard her say, “Let consider it for a couple of days before I respond.”

What?

Shen Chi was sowhat dumbstruck. What kind of response was that?

Lin Xiaoguai lowered her head and giggled secretly. She had originally intended to agree imdiately, but then thought that would be letting him off too easily. They both knew the proposal was rely a formality, but not minding was one thing, letting Shen Chi get away easily was another.

He needed to be uncomfortable for a few days.

For the rest of the half day, Lin Xiaoguai truly enjoyed herself, not being fussy even about old movies and cheerfully shouting while flying a kite. But for Shen Chi, his initial excitent waned, and he was utterly conflicted.

“Let’s co again next ti.” Just as Shen Chi was speaking, he heard Lin Xiaoguai’s words, looked down, and saw her face flush with smiles and anticipation. He was montarily stunned then suddenly laughed, “Alright, we’ll co again later.”

As long as it makes you happy, why not.

He suddenly reach out and scooped her into his arms, catching her off guard. Lin Xiaoguai shrieked, nervously grabbing his hands, and snapped, “What are you doing?”

Shen Chi focused on her, then said, “This is the weight of the world.”

Lin Xiaoguai froze, pink creeping up her cheeks, she turned her face away saying, “Quick, put down.”

Why did the sun seem so harsh? Her face was burning!

But Shen Chi, still holding her, suddenly started spinning around, and Lin Xiaoguai really panicked this ti, fearing that the next mont she would fly out of Shen Chi’s grasp.

“Stop and put down!” She scread, tears splashing from the corners of her eyes.

Shen Chi suddenly withdrew one hand, and before Lin Xiaoguai could react, he stepped forward, the free hand forcefully drawing her close into his embrace, implying, “I’ll never let go.”

“Aren’t you afraid of being crushed to death?” Lin Xiaoguai gasped, angrily asking.

“If I let go, that’s when it collapses,” Shen Chi said earnestly. (To be continued. If you like this work, you are welco to Qidian(qidian) to vote for it with a monthly ticket. Your support is my greatest motivation. Mobile users, please visit m.qidian to continue reading.)
