Eryx’s smirk faded as he watched Lunara. Her lips trembled, and her eyes glistened like she was holding back tears. His brows furrowed in confusion.

"What now?" His voice lost its teasing edge.

Lunara clenched her fists on her lap, her knuckles turning white. "Do you think this is funny?" Her voice was quiet, but the weight behind it was heavy. "Dragging around like this... forcing into your gas?"

His jaw tightened. "It’s not a ga."

"Then what is it?" She let out a shaky breath, blinking rapidly as if refusing to let a single tear fall. "You don’t even rember , do you?"

Eryx froze. A strange, uneasy feeling settled in his chest. "Do I need to know you?"

Lunara scoffed, "You want to get married to without knowing who I am?" Her frown deepened, "And I think the first one that needs to get divorce is you. I heard from you mother yesterday, you are married. Isn’t it?"

Eryx’s brows furrowed. "My mother told you that?"

Lunara scoffed, crossing her arms. "Oh, so you do rember that you’re married?" Her voice wavered, but she forced a mocking smile. "And here you are, trying to marry . Shouldn’t you get a divorce first?"

Eryx exhaled sharply. His mother. Of course, she would bring this up. His fingers curled into fists as he processed her words.

"I know I’m married," he said, his tone colder now. "That’s not the point."

Lunara let out a bitter laugh. "Then what is the point? What are you trying to do here, Mr. Grantham? Your mother told yesterday that you’re already married, and yet today, you’re the one telling to get a divorce?"

His jaw tensed. He wasn’t going to let her turn this around on him. "Don’t act like you know everything."

Her expression stiffened. Her lips parted like she wanted to say sothing, but instead, she looked away, biting down hard on her trembling lip.

Sothing about that look made his chest tighten.

Lunara inhaled sharply and turned back to him. "So? Who is she?"

Eryx narrowed his eyes. "Who?"

"Your wife." Her voice barely held together.

His frown deepened. "That doesn’t concern you."

Lunara suddenly laughed, a loud one. "Don’t tell ...you don’t even rember her, right?"

Eryx’s jaw tightened. Sothing about the way she laughed made his irritation spike.

"What are you trying to say?" His voice was low and dangerous.

Lunara shook her head, her laughter fading into sothing almost bitter. "Unbelievable. You’re out here demanding my divorce while you can’t even rember the woman you married?" She leaned closer, eyes filled with sothing he couldn’t quite place. "Tell , Mr. Grantham, how exactly do you plan on explaining that to your wife?"

Eryx remained silent. His grip on his own thoughts wavered for just a second.

Lunara moved back, arms crossing over her chest. "That’s what I thought." She let out a deep breath. "Well, guess what? I don’t have ti to deal with whatever this is." She gestured between them. "So, do a favor and figure out your own ss before dragging into it."

Eryx’s eyes narrowed. He didn’t like the way she spoke to him like she had the upper hand. Like she knew sothing he didn’t.

"Sir..." Lunara suddenly spoke up, breaking the still silence, "Please stop the car and let get off."

Uncle Dally looked at the rearview mirror only to receive a knowing stare. He imdiately stopped the car on the sidewalk and unlocked the door.

"Thank you," Lunara opened the door and got out of the car. Before she closed the door, she leaned down and said, "After you got a divorce, then I officially divorced too..." there was a smirk on her face but sothing else displayed on her eyes, like frustration and sadness.

Eryx stared at her, his grip tightening around his knee. Sothing about her words gnawed at him, but before he could respond, Lunara straightened and shut the door.

Uncle Dally hesitated before asking, "Sir, should I—"

"Drive." Eryx’s voice was sharp, cutting through the air.

As the car pulled away, he watched through the window as Lunara stood there, unmoving, arms crossed over her chest as if holding herself together.

Her last words echoed in his mind.

"After you get a divorce, then I officially divorced too."

"Callum..." Eryx broke the silence in the car, "Get all the information about the woman that I married, I want it by today."

Callum, seated beside Uncle Dally, barely blinked at the sudden order. "Understood, sir."

Eryx leaned back against the seat, his fingers tapping impatiently on his thigh. His mind replayed Lunara’s expression, her smirk, her sadness, the way she said those words like she was mocking him... or testing him.

"You don’t even rember , do you?"

His jaw clenched. Why did it feel like she knew exactly how to get under his skin?

"Callum..."

"Yes, sir." Callum turned his head, looking at Eryx, who was staring out of the window.

"You don’t rember that woman’s face? The one I married..." Eryx finally turned, his gaze sharp as he waited for an answer.

Callum hesitated. "I’m sorry, sir. It’s been two years, and the only thing I rember is that she had short hair..." He rolled his eyes upward, trying to recall. "Round eyes, plump lips..." He blinked, then suddenly his expression shifted as if sothing clicked. His eyes widened. "Sir!"

Eryx’s frown deepened. "What is it?"

Callum gulped. His mind raced as he connected the features he just described with the woman who had just walked away. Lunara.

He gulped, his mind racing. "Sir, I—I think..." He hesitated before blurting, "Lunara. She looks kind of similar to her!"

Eryx’s expression darkened. "What nonsense are you spouting?"

"I’m serious!" Callum insisted. "But sir, if you want to confirm it, how about checking your marriage certificate?" He suggested, knowing it would have full details, including pictures of both of them.

"Marriage certificate?" Eryx raised an eyebrow before turning to Uncle Dally. "Drive straight ho."

A deep frown settled on his face as an unsettling feeling twisted in his stomach.
