"What trouble are you causing?"
When ng Yan saw that she was about to join Xu Jiaojiao in drunken antics, he was imdiately displeased. As he tried to take the red wine from her hand, Xu Jiaojiao stopped him at once.
"ng Yan, you can’t do this," Xu Jiaojiao said, standing up and pointing at ng Yan. "I finally found soone willing to drink with , soone on my side, and you can’t just interfere midway."
The words carried a sense of disappointnt. Qin Miaomiao sighed helplessly at Xu Jiaojiao and Hua Tiantian. She turned her head and asked Lu Qing, "What do we do now?"
"Since they want to drink, let them have one more glass. We’ll deal with it once they’re drunk."
Qin Miaomiao was surprised at Lu Qing’s words, but there seed to be no better solution at the mont. She then looked at them and said, "Promise this is the last glass, and after that, no more drinking."
"Okay."
"No problem."
ng Yan, seeing Lu Qing and Qin Miaomiao both consent, had no choice but to release Hua Tiantian’s wrist. He looked at the two won in front of him with a complicated expression. Suddenly, he realized that Jin Jing was the real culprit behind all this; if he had shown up, Xu Jiaojiao wouldn’t have wanted to drink herself into a stupor.
When Yue Chengjun walked out of the office with the ultrasound report, she imdiately spotted Jin Jing, who was waiting on the bench. He was looking down, lost in thought. She quickly approached him with a smile: "Jin Jing."
He looked up and saw Yue Chengjun, and stood up to ask, "What did the doctor say?"
Yue Chengjun saw Jin Jing’s calm deanor, which was a stark contrast to his earlier tension. She recalled that he had called Xu Jiaojiao upon arriving at the hospital, seemingly to report, but Xu Jiaojiao had hung up first, which appeared to leave him unhappy.
"This is the ultrasound; see for yourself."
Without saying a word, Yue Chengjun was curious about what was going on in her mind. The more she thought about it, the more Xu Jiaojiao seed to be a barrier between her and Jin Jing. Her feelings for Jin Jing had surpassed her previous thoughts; she wanted this man and knew she had to remove Xu Jiaojiao from his heart and mind first.
It was his first ti looking at an ultrasound report, and he had no idea how to interpret it. The shadows on the report looked like so kind of object, but he could only guess at what they were. Eventually, he turned to Yue Chengjun for an explanation.
"What is this?"
Yue Chengjun looked at where Jin Jing was pointing and replied with a bright smile, "This is the baby; here is the baby’s heart. Can you see it?"
Jin Jing felt a sense of amazent at Yue Chengjun’s words; a feeling he had never experienced before overwheld him, making his mind wander.
If Jiaojiao and I had a child, would it be this small and nearly invisible too?
Jin Jing couldn’t help but question this in his heart, which softened greatly because of the child. He even said to Yue Chengjun, "Would you like the doctor to give you a thorough check-up?"
Yue Chengjun, hearing Jin Jing’s words, beca a bit flustered and looked at him in surprise. "The doctor just checked inside. They said it’s just overexertion and that I just need more rest."
Jin Jing looked at her with so skepticism, casting glances at the other pregnant won who were gradually erging. He was puzzled, not knowing what could suddenly cause a pregnant woman’s stomach to ache. If it was simply due to fatigue, more caution would be needed to avoid overexertion in the future.
So he nodded, "Alright, I’ll take you ho."
Yue Chengjun silently nodded her head.
