"Oh, really? If I rember correctly, your school is over an hour’s drive from here! What ti did you finish school, and how did you end up here?" Yun Xi grinned, her smile as bright as the sun.
But in Yun Yisheng’s eyes, it was more terrifying than a ghost, because every ti his sister smiled like that, it ant she was about to beco predatory.
"Uh... well... I..." Yun Yisheng stamred for a while. Seeing his classmates laughing at him, he cleared his throat and said, "Uh... you guys go ahead! I’ll skip this ti. We can hang out so other ti."
"Okay, we’ll head off first then." His classmates, wise to the situation, waved goodbye and quickly left the scene to avoid getting caught up in the storm. They had all seen Yun Yisheng get beaten by his sister Yun Xi before and knew it was best to avoid the collateral damage.

"A date with your big-headed ghost! Stop trying to change the subject. If you don’t explain yourself today, you might not die, but you’ll definitely lose a layer of skin. Believe it or not!" Yun Xi smacked his arm in annoyance, glaring at him through gritted teeth. "Not focusing on your studies, you’re just fooling around every day. Fooling around! It seems you find life aningless and want to die, don’t you?"
"I didn’t, definitely didn’t. I’m quite a person who values my life." Yun Yisheng instinctively moved two steps away to put so distance between himself and Yun Xi, lest he get hit again.
"Weren’t we going to eat? Let’s go now; otherwise, we’ll have to wait for a table." Lu Xize spoke up just in ti to give Yun Yisheng an out, partly for the boy’s sake but also knowing if they were late, Yun Xi would certainly get mad and possibly bla him for being slow.
At the ntion of food, Yun Xi’s anger subsided more than half, glaring at Yun Yisheng, "Have you had dinner yet?"
"Not yet." Yun Yisheng realized that his gas were definitely out of reach today. He would either be sent back to school or ho by his sister. Rather than that, he figured he might as well join them for a al. Besides, the guy whose head he’d cracked open earlier seed really nice; he hadn’t harbored any resentnt at all. Moreover, judging by the situation, the relationship between him and his sister was not ordinary!
"Where are you guys going for dinner? Take with you! Let join in for a free al!" Saying this, Yun Yisheng quickly moved next to Lu Xize, resting his hand familiarly on his shoulder to avoid getting hit by Yun Xi, and said with a smile, "Bro, fancy running into you again! What a coincidence! Can I tag along for this al? Any issues with that?"
Lu Xize was quite surprised by his sudden enthusiasm and familiarity, especially considering that when he’d been hit in the head, the kid had been all defiant and disdainful. Now they were buddy-buddy, which could only an he intended to use Lu Xize as a shield to get his sister to spare him this ti.
His knowledge of psychology wasn’t for nothing; he could see through the kid’s intentions with ease.
"Of course, no problem." Lu Xize laughed lightly, raising an eyebrow. He was pleasantly willing to offer this small favor. "Let’s go! Don’t be angry anymore. He’s young, it’s normal for him to enjoy playing. Everyone goes through a rebellious phase in their youth. Being so harsh with him all the ti isn’t good. It will only make him more rebellious." Seeing her looking so angry with puffed cheeks and glaring eyes, Lu Xize glanced at Yun Yisheng beside him and stepped forward to softly soothe her.
Yun Xi pursed her lips and lifted her gaze slightly to et his eyes. What Lu Xize said made sense, and she knew it in her heart.
Yun Yisheng had been lacking parental care since he was young, and his temperant had beco sowhat quirky and free-spirited. Since their parents’ divorce, Yun Yisheng had stayed with their father, who never really cared for him or stayed in Nancheng. It had always been Yun Qi and his parents who looked after him, so he naturally felt sowhat lacking in love. At this age, rebellion was normal, and his interests lay not in studying but in gaming.
