Su Mu looked at Wen Han without speaking, while Wen Han smiled:

"Are you afraid that I’m upset about my family’s situation? So you’re considering my feelings?"

This was indeed Su Mu’s intention, but she couldn’t say it now because she could tell from Wen Han’s face that he didn’t quite approve, so she remained silent.

"Su Mu," Wen Han said, "Do you think I would rather see that scene just now than you telling Fu Shinian was traveling with you?"

"That’s not what I an."

"It may be well-intended, but to , it only makes feel more embarrassed." Wen Han rose from his seat: "I know there is a Qiqi between you two, and it’s impossible not to keep in touch, but how should I put it? I really don’t like the feeling of being left in the dark and then abruptly discovering the truth. It’s awful."

Su Mu also stood up. She wanted to explain, and she wanted to ask what Wen Han ant by ’discovering the truth,’ but she didn’t speak because it wasn’t the right ti, so she could only apologize:

"I’m sorry, it won’t happen again."

"I’m not blaming you, it’s just that I don’t like this feeling. Maybe I’m a bit oversensitive," Wen Han sighed lightly: "You’ve just co back, you should rest first. There’s a lot coming up with the studio, and I won’t bother you for now. When you have ti, give a call."

After saying this, Wen Han didn’t give Su Mu a chance to speak and walked straight to the door. Su Mu could only watch as he opened the door and left. In that mont, she truly felt exhausted in body and soul.

Qiqi didn’t know when she had co into the living room, nor if she had heard the conversation between Wen Han and herself, but seeing the distressed look on Qiqi’s face, Su Mu felt she must have sensed sothing. Qiqi ca over and gently caressed Su Mu’s face:

"Mumu, is Uncle Wen mad?"

Su Mu smiled and shook her head: "No."

"But he didn’t smile at all. Uncle Wen always had a warm smile around you, making him seem so approachable, but just now, I felt like you were about to argue at any mont."

Even Qiqi noticed?

This caught Su Mu off guard, but on second thought, a child’s perspective is the most sincere and pure. She can see the things that are most essential. Su Mu didn’t have high hopes, but Qiqi’s words still reminded Su Mu of the things Wen Han had said to her before they got together.

Everyone is greedy. Although Su Mu didn’t fully believe Wen Han’s words at the ti and was prepared for everything that could happen, she didn’t expect it to co so quickly, so suddenly that she was caught off guard. Yet she didn’t show any disappointnt; after all, this was how a normal person should behave.

In the following days, Su Mu specifically chose a ti when Wen Han wasn’t ho to visit Zhou Yaxian, but Zhou Yaxian’s condition hadn’t improved since she left Shen City. She still seed unwilling to speak, which worried Su Mu. However, after asking Auntie Li and learning that Wen Han had arranged for a psychologist to co to their ho to counsel Zhou Yaxian, she felt sowhat relieved.

Wen Shaoyuan had recovered a bit, but living in such an environnt, it was inevitable that he still appeared listless. Su Mu wanted to take him back to spend a few days with Qiqi, but Wen Shaoyuan refused, saying he wanted to stay at ho with his grandmother. His grandfather was already gone, and if he were to leave during the sumr break, it would be even harder for Zhou Yaxian to accept.

From the beginning, Su Mu knew that Wen Shaoyuan was a dutiful child, but she didn’t expect to hear such words from an 8- or 9-year-old, and she couldn’t help but give him a thumbs up in her heart:

"Okay, I respect your decision, but if you ever feel unhappy or can’t shake off certain emotions, you have to tell . Don’t forget, I’m not just your Auntie Su, but also your teacher."

Wen Shaoyuan smiled and nodded:

"I rember, Auntie Su."

Before Su Mu left the Wen Family ho, Wen Shaoyuan ca downstairs to see her off. As they were parting, Wen Shaoyuan called out to Su Mu:

"Auntie Su."

Su Mu turned to look at the boy who reached up to her chest and smiled slightly: "What is it?"

"Did you and my dad have an argunt?"

Su Mu was slightly taken aback:

"Why do you ask?"

"His mood hasn’t been very good these past few days. Although he’s been holding up since grandpa passed away, he has never shown it so clearly. I don’t know what happened between you two, making you co to see grandma while picking a ti when my dad isn’t ho, but I think if it’s sothing you care about, it must be my dad’s fault. I don’t know if I can apologize to you on his behalf?"

Wen Shaoyuan’s words surprised Su Mu for a long ti. First, she didn’t expect Wen Han to be so visibly upset, and second, she didn’t expect Wen Shaoyuan to notice and even say these words to her. For a mont, Su Mu didn’t know how to respond.

Wen Shaoyuan smiled slightly:

"I know it’s your adults’ business, and it’s not right for a kid like to interfere. But now that grandpa has passed away and grandma is in such a condition, it seems that I’m the only one who can closely watch over his mood. He’s not one to speak directly to you, so I took the liberty of speaking up. It might make you uncomfortable, but I think I should say it."

Su Mu smiled:

"It’s okay; I don’t feel uncomfortable. I’m just trying to think of how to explain my situation with Wen Han to you."

"You don’t need to explain, I just want you both to be well."

Su Mu nodded:

"Don’t worry, I’ll be fine. I’ll find ti to have a proper talk with your dad. I can’t let a kid like you worry about it."

Wen Shaoyuan smiled:

"Thank you, Auntie Su."

After leaving the Wen Family ho, Su Mu went directly to Bishui Yuntian. Qiqi had already been there for four days, and the renovation of the studio was also winding down. Su Mu had a few days of free ti and wanted to spend so ti with the child. However, she didn’t expect that this visit to Bishui Yuntian would lead to a eting with the long-unseen Su Shiyue.

Since reuniting with Fu Shinian, she had never seen Su Shiyue, although she’d heard from Wen Han that Su Shiyue had also helped with a previous kidnapping incident. But then sothing happened, and she went abroad to clear her mind, and they never t.

When Su Shiyue saw Su Mu, there wasn’t any surprise, just a slight smile and a greeting:

"Sister-in-law."

Actually, most of the past grievances between Su Mu and Su Shiyue had been due to misunderstandings. With so many years passing and considering Su Shiyue’s previous acts of goodwill, Su Mu’s resentnt had long vanished. Yet hearing Su Shiyue address her that way still made her feel uncomfortable, and she smiled:

"We should probably change the way we address each other. Fu Shinian and I are already divorced."
