Dugu Qianye nodded and had Huo Yi tell her about things on the Continent. Everyone kept flying, and finally, on the morning of the eighth day, they arrived at Chichi, where the Huo Family Clan was located.

To maintain the city’s order, Phantom Beasts were not allowed to fly over Chichi, so everyone disembarked outside the city, recalled their Contract Beasts, and then walked into the city gates on foot.

"Second Elder, Young Master."

The guards at the gate imdiately saluted and called out upon seeing Huo Han and Huo Yi.

Huo Han nodded at them, and Huo Yi said, "You’ve worked hard."

Upon seeing Dugu Qianye, everyone was curious about her identity, for they had never seen the Huo Family Young Master have any contact with a woman!

As for everyone’s strange looks, Dugu Qianye simply ignored them, calmly talking with Huo Yi as they left.

Upon arriving at the Huo Family estate, Dugu Qianye felt as if she was seeing the Mo Family again. The design was purely Chinese-style, with pavilions and buildings complenting each other beautifully.

"Second Elder, Young Master, you have finally returned," a middle-aged man ca out from the main gate, hurriedly greeting the approaching figures.

"Uncle Wu, has sothing happened to Grandfather?" Huo Yi asked anxiously.

"During the ti you were gone, so things happened. The other people who went to find the Vermilion Immortal Grass have all returned. None of them found the Vermilion Immortal Grass. And..."

"And what?" Huo Han asked.

"And just now, the Third Elder and Miss have returned, saying they couldn’t invite Master ng," said the butler Wu, "This morning, the Family Head coughed up blood again. He’s almost not holding on."

"What?! Qianye, I must go check on him first. Make yourself at ho," Huo Yi said hurriedly, rushing toward his room as soon as he heard his grandfather had coughed up blood. Huo Han and butler Wu followed closely behind.

Since Huo Yi and Huo Han had left and no one had managed to arrange for Dugu Qianye yet, she didn’t know where to go montarily. Thinking that she knew Alchemy and had learned so dical skills, she decided to follow them to Family Head Huo Yutian’s yard.

"How is Grandfather?" Huo Yi started asking as soon as he arrived at Huo Yutian’s yard. The people inside made way for him when they knew he had arrived, allowing him to enter Huo Haoyu’s room.

"Grandfather, Grandfather," Huo Yi called out to the person who was already in a coma as he reached the bedside of Huo Yutian.

"How could Grandfather be like this? He was fine when I left!" Huo Yi yelled at the attending physician.

"To answer, to answer the Young Master’s question, the Family Head originally could have held on for at least another year, but recently, soone from the Jin Family ca to our door, claiming you killed their Young Master. Since everyone was out looking for the Vermilion Immortal Grass, the Family Head stepped forward, and even fought with Jin Ting, which caused the cold energy to beco uncontrollable, running rampant within the Family Head’s body, eroding his internal organs. So..." The physician, startled by Huo Yi’s deanor, said tremblingly.

"Jin Ting, I’m not through with him!" Huo Yi said with a chill on his face.

"Little Yi." A woman ca beside Huo Yi and patted his shoulder.

"Sis, weren’t you going to invite Master ng? How co..." Huo Yi asked, looking at Huo Wu. If Master ng had co, perhaps there might have been an Elixir that could prolong Grandfather’s life or directly refine the Vermilion Immortal Grass for his treatnt.

Huo Wu shook her head and said, "We were unable to invite Master ng."

"Was it because the things we sent didn’t catch his fancy?"

Master ng was the highest-ranked Alchemist on the Spirit Void Continent, capable of concocting Grade 9 Elixirs and was also the master of the Alchemist Association’s chairman. Known for his quirks, those who sought him had to offer him sothing. If it caught his fancy, he would treat you and concoct Elixirs for you, no matter what. But if he didn’t take a liking to what you offered, I’m sorry, the door is right there.

Huo Wu’s silence indicated their offering did not catch Master ng’s fancy, which ant they failed to invite him to treat and concoct Elixirs for Huo Yutian!

"Is there no word from Mom and Dad?" Huo Yi asked again.

Huo Wu shook her head sadly.

"What should we do then?" Huo Yi asked anxiously, "Is there really no other way to save Grandfather? Have the elders run out of options? What about other alchemists? Can it be that there’s not a single Alchemist on the entire Spirit Void Continent who can craft a level 8 Elixir?"

"Apart from Master ng, the others, alas, aren’t fully confident they can succeed," the Third Elder spoke up.

"What should we do then?" Huo Yi slumped down beside the bed dejectedly.

Dugu Qianye followed Huo Yi and Huo Han to this place, the first thing that struck her was a wall of people.

"Tsk, tsk, such a crowd," Dugu Qianye couldn’t help but exclaim.

As Dugu Qianye arrived in the courtyard, she was quickly spotted.

"Who are you? How did you get here?"

The speaker exerted Divine Level pressure on Dugu Qianye, making it difficult for her to breathe all at once. She tried to mobilize her Phantom Power to resist, but found that she couldn’t!

"Could she be a spy sent by the Jin Family? Soone, take her down and lock her up. We’ll interrogate her later."

"Yes, Fifth Elder!"

The guards outside ca in, ready to take Dugu Qianye away. Hearing the commotion outside, Huo Yi, who rembered that Dugu Qianye was just behind him not far away, looked outside the door and saw her being taken away.

"Stop," Huo Yi stepped forward to intervene.

Huo Wu also ca out and upon seeing Dugu Qianye, asked, "Who is she?"

"I don’t have the ti to explain right now. She is my friend. You all may leave," Huo Yi said, waving his hand at the guards.

"Yes, Young Master."

As the guards were about to exit the main courtyard, the Fifth Elder hastily said, "Wait. Young Master, it’s a delicate ti now; we can’t let in soone whose intentions are unclear. How do you know she isn’t sent by the Jin Family?"

"What, does my friend need Fifth Elder’s approval?" Huo Yi said somberly.

"I’m also considering the clan’s welfare. Even if she’s the Young Master’s friend, it doesn’t an she’s beyond suspicion," the Fifth Elder said.

Dugu Qianye glanced at the Fifth Elder, noting his rat-like eyes and the surly flesh on his face.

"Xiao Yi, the Fifth Elder is right. Given the current special circumstances, letting her learn about Grandfather’s illness..." Huo Wu began.

"It’s unnecessary. She isn’t sent by the Jin Family," Huo Han suddenly spoke up.

The Huo Family’s power was concentrated in the hands of Family Head Huo Yutian, the Great Elder Huo Hu, Second Elder Huo Han, and Third Elder Huo Qi. With Huo Han’s words, nobody else spoke up.

The Fifth Elder, though reluctant, withdrew his pressure and glared fiercely at Dugu Qianye.

"Instead of chasing shadows here, we should think of more practical solutions, consider how we can save the Family Head," Huo Han said.

"What happened?" Dugu Qianye ca up to Huo Yi and asked.

"My grandfather, he... Co with ," Huo Yi began, but could not finish, and took Dugu Qianye into the room.
