After returning to Asgard, Thor's already difficult life beca even worse.
Just after getting beaten up by Hela, Loki showed up—only to mock him rcilessly.
The combination of physical pain and ntal tornt finally pushed Thor over the edge.
Fueled by a month's worth of pent-up anger, he charged toward Hela and challenged her to a duel.
In the end, Hela simply slapped him off the Rainbow Bridge, sending him hurtling straight into the planet Sakaar—where his real trials would begin.
anwhile, Luo Bai had been staying on Earth, helping superheroes by answering their questions.
After fighting both Galactus and his Herald, the superheroes on Earth had beco painfully aware of their own shortcomings. Many of them now sought to beco stronger.
Thus, inside the grand hall of Kamar-Taj...
Strange sat across from Luo Bai, his expression serious and filled with determination. "Sorcerer Supre, I want to learn sothing different."
Luo Bai smiled and asked casually, "What exactly do you want to learn?"
Strange thought for a mont before answering truthfully, "Since becoming the guardian of the New York Sanctum, I've devoted myself to studying the magic of Kamar-Taj. I've read nearly all of its texts, but I realized sothing—many of the spells you've used aren't recorded anywhere."
"So, I was hoping you could teach so... new magic."
His tone was filled with both eagerness and respect. The desire for knowledge and strength burned in his eyes.
If any other sorcerer had made this request, Luo Bai might have simply told them to continue studying the basics first.
But Strange...
Strange was different. Luo Bai could afford to teach him sothing more advanced.
Thinking this over, Luo Bai asked, "What type of magic do you want to learn? What are you aiming for?"
Strange had already made up his mind. Without hesitation, he said, "I want to learn offensive magic.
"The magic of Kamar-Taj primarily cos from the lineage of the Vishanti, which focuses mostly on defense. But I think I've mastered enough defensive spells—I want to fight.
"I want to learn dark magic... I—"
At that mont, Strange abruptly stopped speaking.
He had just realized what he said. Panic flashed across his face as he quickly tried to explain himself.
"Sorcerer Supre, I didn't an anything improper—"
But before he could finish, Luo Bai calmly cut him off.
"You don't need to explain. I understand exactly what you an."
With that, Luo Bai lifted his hand, summoning a book from the air and handing it to Strange.
Strange hesitated for a mont before accepting the book with a puzzled expression. As he opened it, his eyes scanned the first words written on the page.
"Lucky one, if you are reading this book, congratulations—you are about to gain supre power. This book is called the Darkhold."
Strange didn't fully understand what the Darkhold was, but he could imdiately sense that this book was unlike any he had ever encountered before.
"What kind of book is this?" he asked.
"The Darkhold," Luo Bai answered plainly. "A to that records all dark magic in existence."
Although Luo Bai spoke calmly, Strange's face was filled with shock.
He had never expected Luo Bai to give him sothing like this.
After a long pause, he finally spoke, his voice carrying disbelief. "I'm... surprised, Sorcerer Supre. I didn't think you would actually hand a book of dark magic. I thought you would scold instead."
Luo Bai chuckled and shook his head. "Earth needs both defensive and offensive asures. I understand your desire to learn dark magic, so I won't stop you. The previous Sorcerer Supre once told that magic should be adaptable—so now, I pass those sa words on to you."
"Magic should be adaptable...?"
Strange didn't fully grasp the aning of those words, but he was deeply moved by Luo Bai's trust in him.
His eyes filled with resolve as he declared, "Sorcerer Supre, I understand. I know the risks that co with learning dark magic. But for the sake of Earth, I am willing to bear them."
Luo Bai simply smiled. "Actually... learning dark magic doesn't carry much of a cost."
Strange frowned. "What do you an? Didn't you once say that learning dark magic cos at the cost of one's life? I've heard from other sorcerers that Casillas t his end because of it."
Luo Bai let out a sigh and shrugged. "That was just a trick to keep Dormammu in check. The truth is, I made all the dark gods sign an agreent—they've promised not to corrupt sorcerers anymore. In fact, they've even agreed to help protect Earth now.
"So honestly? It doesn't really matter if all of you learn dark magic."
Strange: "......????"
For a long mont, Strange was completely speechless.
"Sorcerer Supre, are you saying... even if we learn dark magic, those dark sorcerers won't try to corrupt us?" Strange asked in shock.
Luo Bai nodded and replied confidently, "Of course. They have to protect Earth now—why would they waste ti tempting you? I was just putting on an act for appearances. After all, I'm the Sorcerer Supre; I can't openly encourage my disciples to study dark magic."
Strange: "......"
So it was all for show?
All this ti, he had genuinely believed that learning dark magic would cost him his life.
And yet... it turns out it wasn't a big deal at all.
Thinking about it, Strange couldn't help but complain, "I was wondering why Dormammu and the others suddenly showed up to fight against Galactus's Herald. Turns out... you actually tad them."
Luo Bai nodded. "More or less. However, there are many evil gods in the universe. So far, I've only conquered Dormammu, Chthon, and phisto. I haven't dealt with the others yet. So for now, you can only borrow power from these three."
Strange suddenly understood the situation. After a brief pause, he asked curiously, "Sorcerer Supre, do you plan to conquer more evil gods?"
Luo Bai frowned slightly. "What exactly are you trying to say?"
Strange explained seriously, "What I an is, if you manage to conquer all the evil gods in the universe, then the sorcerers of Kamar-Taj will be able to draw power from all of them. That way, we'll be stronger and better equipped to protect Earth."
He understood all too well that the small fraction of power granted by the Vishanti wasn't enough.
If Luo Bai could subdue more dark gods, then in the future, Kamar-Taj's sorcerers would have limitless sources of power to call upon.
Against powerful cosmic threats, they would have far greater ans to fight back.
Luo Bai had to admit—Strange's idea made a lot of sense.
With a smile, he said, "I think your suggestion is a good one, but there's no need to rush. The power of these three is more than enough for now."
Strange nodded, then left excitedly, clutching the Darkhold like he had just discovered a priceless treasure.
After Strange left, Luo Bai fell into deep thought.
Now that he thought about it... perhaps Kamar-Taj really could establish a 'Dark Magic Academy'.
