When Houzi heard his cousin's question, he glanced at Li Lingyun for a mont.

Noticing his gaze, Pan Chiyan chuckled and asked, "Does Brother-in-law also know the grain supplier?"

Being pointed out like that, Li Lingyun didn't panic at all. Instead, he calmly asked, "Eldest Brother, why do you say that?"

Pan Chiyan studied him for a mont before replying, "I heard from my wife that your third brother recomnded her to a middleman at the black market in the capital who sells grain."

"From that middleman, we found out that he seems to give her special treatnt. Not only can she buy as much grain as she wants, but she is also given priority and gets it at a lower price than others."

He paused before continuing, "Even if your third brother knows the middleman, it's impossible for a stranger to treat my wife that well without permission or orders from soone with higher authority."

Li Lingyun smiled after hearing this and asked, "So, Eldest Brother thinks the one selling the grain is my third brother?"

Pan Chiyan returned the smile and said, "It's not that I think—it's that I'm sure it's your third brother."

Upon hearing this, Li Lingyun neither confird nor denied it. Instead, he passed the hot potato back to Houzi.

"Well, if Eldest Brother wants to know about the supplier, you can ask Cousin," he said casually.

The mont he said this, Pan Chiyan raised an eyebrow at his cousin. Seeing this, Houzi shot a glare at Li Lingyun and said, "Boss Ling, you are the one who started this topic. Why are you dumping the ss on ?"

"I didn't start anything. Cousin, you can't bla ," Li Lingyun replied with a chuckle.

Houzi turned to Pan Chiyan and asked, "Cousin, why do you want to know about the grain supplier?"

This ti, Pan Chiyan didn't press further. Instead, he said, "I ca this ti to buy more grain from you. The situation in other cities and towns is getting worse. So places have already had several riots due to the lack of supplies."

"The leaders held a eting and decided to buy at least 5,000 tons of grain this ti. The price is negotiable," he added.

Houzi was taken aback when he heard this. He looked at his cousin in disbelief and asked, "5,000 tons?"

Pan Chiyan nodded and replied, "If possible, we would like to buy 10,000 tons. But to stabilize the current unrest, we need at least that much. Cousin, do you think the supplier has the stock?"

Houzi went quiet, thinking for a mont before he said, "Cousin, I can't give you an answer right now. I need to contact the supplier first."

"Can you introduce to them?" Pan Chiyan asked.

"I can, but I will have to ask for their permission first. They agreed to sell to under the condition that I keep their identity a secret," Houzi replied.

Hearing this, Pan Chiyan began to doubt his assumption about the supplier's identity. After thinking it over, he said, "Then please help ask them."

"Okay."

Once they finished discussing business, Li Lingyun stood up and said, "Cousin, my wife is still waiting for at ho, so I won't stay any longer."

Houzi also stood up and said, "Alright. My n will go directly to your n, it will save us the trouble."

"No problem," Li Lingyun agreed readily.

Seeing that he was leaving, Pan Chiyan stood up as well and said, "Brother-in-law, it's been a while since I have seen my sister. I will go with you."

"Okay."

After the two of them left, Houzi went to find Xu Bohai, the manager of Li Chenmo's grain store in the town's black market.

Li Lingyun rode his bicycle back while Pan Chiyan followed behind in his car. As the two made their way to Xie Village, far away at the military barracks, a large delivery had just arrived.

The soldiers grew curious when they saw a truck pull into the compound, loaded with an unusual amount of cargo.

While it wasn't uncommon for soldiers and administrative staff to receive occasional packages from their families, the volu was usually small. But today, the truck carried not only boxes but also sacks, more than anyone had ever seen at once.

After parking near the administrative building, the driver got out and made his way to the office. Standing at the counter, he handed over several docunts to the administrative staff and said, "Comrade, here is the list of today's letters and packages."

The staff took the docunts and glanced through them. After a mont, he frowned and asked, "Comrade, is there a mistake here?"

The driver shook his head and replied, "There shouldn't be. This list was compiled based on the senders and recipients of all the letters and packages."

After a pause, he asked in return, "Why? Is sothing wrong with it?"

The staff pointed to a line on the list and said, "It's this one, the recipient is Zhang Guo. The number of packages listed under his na is 167."

The driver checked the list again and smiled. "Ah, yes. That's correct. We have already verified the count and confird the items. It matches the list exactly."

Since the driver was confident, the staff nodded and said, "Alright then, let's begin unloading the packages and letters."

"Okay."

As the unloading began, more and more soldiers ca over to help. Once the last package was off the truck, the staff signed so docunts and handed it back to the driver.

Before leaving, the driver went to the cafeteria to get a al and so rest, while the soldiers carried the items into the building. However, because the number of packages was too large to store in the temporary mailroom, the staff decided to make a public announcent.

He picked up the microphone, and his voice echoed through the gaphones installed throughout the barracks.

"Attention, please. Comrade Zhang Guo, please co to the administrative building to collect your packages as soon as possible."

He repeated the announcent three tis before returning to his work.
