Chapter 970: Invasion (5)

Chapter 970

Even with the staggering number of soldiers and how crowded the battlefield had beco, Devan was still able to identify those leading the charge on the enemy side.

He could clearly see Fenrir electrocuting and paralyzing his troops, while Thalos continued striding his way; the gargoyle was calmly dismantling his n as if they were nothing more than obstacles.

’Huh? Am I imagining it? He seems and feels like a primordial-ranked beast on his own,’

Devan mused inwardly, his gaze drifting to the silent, massive mount beneath him. It wore a heavy collar around its neck that pulsated continuously with an eerie light.

’... Luckily, I managed to secure this artifact before the Midnight Sun Clan was eradicated. A tool specifically designed to control and ta such creatures. I wonder who even eliminated that clan? They were incredibly powerful and helpful allies to have.’

His wandering gaze shifted to see Rivock detonating the ranks of his infantry like they were straw.

Since Rivock was a stage-seven warrior, he was able to rip through the average soldier with ease.

The majority of the Behemoth Clan was composed of stage three, four, and five warriors.

While the stage-five combatants were not as nurous, Rivock hadn’t even encountered them yet. But Devan knew that if Rivock were to cross paths with them now, they would be toast.

His eyes drifted downward to the thousand n still standing directly around his mount.

These were the elite stage-five and stage-six warriors of the clan.

They stood before him like an impenetrable fortress, watching the battle unfold while the stage two, three, and four warriors were pushed back.

Out of five hundred thousand n, only this thousand represented the true peak of the clan’s standing strength, and they remained with their leader for the mont.

"Is it , or is that monster heading straight for us?" Oscroch questioned, pointing a finger toward Thalos, who was still striding forward with terrifying purpose.

Ortiz smirked, his eyes narrowing in anticipation. "It seems he wants to challenge us alone. How interesting."

Alba and Brook were now fighting side by side in perfect coordination.

Killian had long since charged ahead to shred through the enemy lines, leaving these two to hold their ground.

Under normal circumstances, Alba wouldn’t have required Brook’s assistance, but sothing about this entire battlefield setup didn’t sit right with her.

To conserve her strength, stamina, and Ki for the true threats, she opted for this defensive partnership.

Sidestepping a clumsy attack, her leg snapped forward, bashing into the side of an opponent and sending him sliding backward into the dirt.

Almost imdiately, a barrage of Ki fists ca speeding toward her from the flank.

Brook dove in front of the projectiles with his massive tower shield locked in place.

BAM—!

He dug his toes into the hard ground, refusing to budge from his position as the impact vibrated through his arms.

His shield suddenly lit up with a bright, intense cadence, followed by a concentrated beam of energy that ripped through the forward ranks of the attackers.

Alba kicked off from behind Brook, launching herself into the air above the tank.

She landed gracefully in front of him, Ki swirling around her feet as she lunged forward with imnse velocity.

Within re monts, her blades had done their work, and the n before her fell.

Twirling around almost imdiately, she swung her sword in a rising arc from below.

A yellow slash ruptured outward, rocketing toward a group of soldiers that had attempted to encircle her.

Leaping away, the n barely avoided the energy wave that tore a deep, jagged trench into the earth, kicking a screen of dust into the air.

Brook punched the surface of his shield with raw force, causing the weapon to glow before it blasted out a heavy shockwave.

The force sent the surrounding enemies flying away like ragdolls caught in a gale.

’We can do this. We can do this. We can do this,’ Alba thought, her heart racing as she reset her stance.

But no matter how much he chanted, worry filled his heart at the insurmountable number of enemies rushing toward them.

This force was large enough to populate a small city, and now, they were descending upon them in a wave of steel.

How had the Behemoth Clan managed to recruit so many warriors over the years?

___

Killian was out front, double swords in hand as he moved like a phantom—like death incarnate itself.

Deflecting a blow to the side, he swung his head forward, bashing it into the skull of his opponent.

A sharp grin appeared on Killian’s face as he twisted behind the disoriented man, using the enemy’s body as a shield while a barrage of arrows intended for him struck the warrior instead.

Grabbing the man’s abdon, Killian burst forward with full speed, utilizing the adversary as a living battering ram.

He bulldozed through several fighters before taking half a step backward; his hand shot up, catching his sword as he delivered a final, decisive strike.

In the chaos, he could see hundreds of angry eyes staring him down.

His crimson sword vibrated in his grip, and he wasted no ti in swinging the blade, producing a fiery slash that scorched through the front line.

Twisting on his heels, he intercepted a blow that had been streaking toward his head from behind.

The attacker glared at him, trying to push forward, but no matter how much strength the man exerted, he was unable to move Killian an inch.

Deflecting the strike to the side, Killian delivered a hard knee to the man’s midsection, causing him to crumple to the ground in agony.

Flinging one sword to the side, the weapon flew through the air with imnse velocity, striking an enemy who had been charging toward him and stopping the man instantly.

The warrior halted, and Killian calmly walked over.

His eyes scanned the surroundings, watching as even more n began lunging toward his position.

He reached the fallen opponent just as the man was about to collapse face-first, and Killian yanked his sword back into his hand.

With a powerful upward swing, he cleared the space before him.

Crimson erupted into the air like a fountain as the body swayed for a second before crashing into the dirt.

Flicking his wrist, the blood on his sword splattered onto the parched ground.

With a sharp exhale, he turned around to face the next wave of soldiers closing in.

Taking in a deep breath, he bead like a lunatic, his adrenaline reaching its peak.

’I might die, but I’m glad it will be on the battlefield... so let’s GOOOO!’

BANG—!
