Lynch summoned the immobilization badge to the front and then crushed it with his hand. As sparks scattered from the mage's fist, the thieves' sore muscles finally eased. They turned awkwardly, like babies just learning to walk, still casting wary glances at Lynch.
After a few gestures by Little Finger, they withdrew their gazes and hidden weapons from the mage, turning around to begin cleaning the battlefield. Of course, the most important task was to tightly bind the still "mute" forr leader with a silver rope.
"When did you arrive in Pate City? I didn't even get any news of you," Felps tugged on Lynch's sleeve, walking out with him. Even on a battlefield covered in various liquids—sewage, bad liquor, and cold blood—the two left no footprints. Lynch used Floating Ability to avoid all the stains, while Little Finger relied entirely on the unspeakable skills of a thief.
"I've been here just one day and one night. But I haven't received any news from you for a long ti either." Lynch used his magic wand to nudge Little Finger's right hand away, as the latter was instinctively reaching for the mage's waist pouch. "Wislin, Morgan, and Anna are all very worried about you. Deluo also ntioned thanking you for your help to him and his militia. But if you try to place your hand on my spatial bag again, I'll have to tell them you were killed by a magic trap, not that you're comfortably leading a group in Holy Pate."
"Not quite leadership, but we are indeed walking the sa path." The Halfling rubbed his hands and smiled, seemingly dismissing the mage's warning. "What brings you to Holy Pate? I've heard you've beco the head of the Mage Association. How co matters of the Thief Guild also attract you?"
Lynch glanced around and carefully sensed the magical fluctuations around them. After confirming no eyes or spells were trying to spy on them, the mage said, "I'm here to cause trouble for the temple because they're foolishly obstructing this war against the Snake-n. What do you think? Want to help ?"
Little Finger suddenly stopped in his tracks, widened his eyes at Lynch, and then burst into laughter, the joyful sound echoing far down the passage. Once he had cald down and upon receiving a warning look from Lynch, Little Finger quickly caught up in a few strides.
"I didn't expect us to be thinking alike. The Pate Temple indeed needs so fixing now," Little Finger thought for a mont and then said to Lynch, "We not only want to do sothing for the warriors fighting in the war, but we're also planning to get involved in this turmoil. Although Holy Pate hasn't beco an enemy, its current actions are definitely an obstruction to us."
Lynch looked into Little Finger's eyes, and this ti, he didn't find the Halfling attempting to evade his gaze. The calm expression and serious look indicated that Felps was not joking.
"I thought you were only interested in adventures, but now you're considering your organization." Lynch sighed, then said, "On one hand, I'm glad you're no longer causing trouble aimlessly around Anriel Continent and have found a place to settle; on the other hand, I want to know what kind of intentions your organization serves. Little Finger, don't tell you're now serving so Thief Guild. Such excuses might fool others. What is your True Path Sect planning now?"
Felps scratched his head, showing no surprise at all. The last ti at the tavern in Moon Harbor City, Lynch had already discovered the Halfling's secret; and now, with the mage apprentice having beco the head of mages, there was no reason not to know about the existence of True Path Sect mbers.
"Too many people are deceived by appearances, unable to see the essence of things, magnifying those differences infinitely, thinking they've found the pattern that links all things," Little Finger smirked, yet his eyes shone with passionate light. "In fact, there is no essential difference between all things, only differences in appearance. Whether warriors, priests, druids, or mages, they are rely composed of the sa True Spirit. They think they are unique, but we can ignore the rules 'causing this difference' and reach their sa level."
