"I know the mbers of the True Path Sect can accomplish so truly incredible things, like healing others as Priests do, and transforming into various animals like Druids. So Mages have even told that you can study and cast spells like them." Lynch remarked as they walked, "At the sa ti, I also know you don't actually learn these skills, you just ditate to mimic those effects." The Mage looked at Littlefinger and said, "The reason I say 'mimic' is because you're not a Priest or a Mage at all, not a Spellcaster in any sense. Without true research, one cannot achieve true mastery."

Littlefinger glanced at Lynch, his eyes sowhat dim. He lowered his head, pondering for a mont before responding, "If soone wants to cast spells like you, none of the current True Path mbers can achieve that." The Halfling planted his hands on his hips, puffing out his chest confidently, "But one day we will be able to do that and eliminate those superficial differences!"

Lynch rolled his eyes, but since his Eye of Insight showed no distinctions in pupil or sclera color, Littlefinger was unaware of the Mage's gesture. Lynch clutched his Magic Wand to his chest and said, "I don't want to discuss those matters of faith with you, as a Mage, those things hold no interest to . However, you did just ntion sothing I am interested in: Pate's Temple. You... wait a minute, since you belong to the True Path Sect, you naturally possess the ability to mimic. You're not planning to replace the Supre Bishop of Pate Temple with one of your own, are you?"

"I never said anything." Littlefinger chuckled slyly, wiggling with excitent, "Though I can say, Lynch, your suggestion is indeed very bold, very novel, and sowhat feasible."

Lynch imdiately realized he had grasped the essence of their plan. Since the True Path Sect has always been a highly secretive organization with excellent confidentiality, there are only scant records about it within the Mage Association; others have never even heard the na. If they wanted to sneak soone adept at Divine Arts mimicry into the Pate Temple, it would be a piece of cake.

The Great Mage frowned, closed his eyes, and concentrated on thinking through the entire plan. If they could successfully disguise a mber of the True Path Sect as Pate's Archbishop, it would be the greatest "heist" in the world. Furthermore, with the Felps connection, Lynch need not worry about the new bishop continuing to sell the lives of Paladins to the giant serpent—this would be far better than personally controlling Pate Temple.

And the True Path Sect could certainly use this to grow stronger and prove their doctrines correct—that is their purpose.

"Do you really believe your ability to mimic can deceive those higher-level bishops? They're skilled at exposing illusions, discovering the truth amidst the mire." Lynch shook his head and worriedly said, "Even if all these issues are resolved, you still have the biggest problem—how are you going to replace the original Pate archbishop?"

"I've been worried about that lately, because I can't find a foolproof solution." Littlefinger looked at Lynch with unparalleled enthusiasm and then said, "But I believe tonight I will be able to sleep peacefully, without a care."
