Shadow stood respectfully in front of Ruby, then said, "Master, would it not be better to remain in the shadows like we have always been?"
Ruby smiled at Shadow’s statent, then said to her, "No, Shadow, we need to stake our claim on our new master, Fate Grimsever. Soon, many of my old friends will be showing up here looking for Fate. They all require the powers that he possesses and will crave his ten-foot pole."
Shadow shook in visible terror at the ntion of those other won. If they are going to show up and then end up joining the Phoenix Rising cult, then things will definitely get very chaotic around Valoria.
Ruby began to think about her future plans more. With the peasants of the Southern Hampshire Plains now flocking to Phoenix Rising, the number of raw recruits is growing well. But she will need to procure a reliable source of healers. Ruby felt that kidnapping a few Priests of the Order of Divine Promises would solve their needs.
So Ruby shared her plans with Shadow, saying,
"Shadow, go ahead and have so of the Blood Maidens kidnap a bunch of priests from the surrounding territories and our own. We don’t need to stand out for now. We will use them to create a stable force of soldiers from the peasants we have taken in. Their training is going to be bloody if they expect to join the Fire Legion. This will be the main military force of Phoenix Rising. Then there will be the elite Death Sworn."
Shadow stood still, taking notes on the creation of this massive new military force. If those other won do show up, then they will also bring their own military forces.
Ruby looked out over her underground necropolis. She knew that this kind of place would classify her as a villain or even evil. But Ruby did not care in the least; she would even destroy this world for her master.
But even with all of these efforts, they are far from enough to take down Nimrod Bloodsworn. His father, Samuel Bloodsworn, is the real threat, as well as the nurous nations and nobles that seem to have an interest in the demise of her master, Fate Grimsever.
This fact confused her the most: why is everyone so bent on killing her master? He has led a quiet life as an arrogant young master. But what noble’s son has not?
None of this made any sense to Ruby. Her spies reported that even other nations want to see her Fate dead. Was it his land or obscene wealth they are after?
Ruby shook her head. No, it was sothing more than that. But Ruby did not feel it was appropriate for her to ask her master about this matter, at least not yet.
With the inspiration from Fate, a new world of modern warfare has been opened up to Ruby. Now, she can envision entire cities made up of her cult living underground in any environnt. With water mages and earth mages, they are entirely self-sufficient, being able to use magic to grow food and acquire water.
This is a ga changer, and one Ruby intends to keep under wraps. If need be, these mbers of Phoenix Rising are entirely disposable. But hopefully, such drastic asures will not need to be used. But they will still be implented regardless.
Ruby has not survived for so long by being lazy. Her master is the one who gets to be lazy while she does all of the work.
Speaking of Fate Grimsever, he could currently be found in Shadow Spire Citadel. He had a few mages reinforce one of the rooms in his massive castle and then make a hole in it. Now, he is enjoying a homade indoor pool courtesy of a few mages’ hard and unpaid work.
Fate told them to seek out Ruby for paynt. But Ruby is always happy to receive more free labor force mages for her projects. So they would soon be indoctrinated and sent down underground.
Fate was enjoying his ti floating in the pool as he sketched out a few swimsuits that he wanted to see Ruby and so of her girls wear. A villain like him needs to be constantly surrounded by beautiful won.
