Kiara
After Mason is executed, we move on. Or I try to move on. It was rough. No matter what he did, I never wanted him to die, but this is the ultimate punishnt, and my dad gave Maze his blessing to do what he needed to do, and Maze insisted we needed to do this to state an example.
"No one can kidnap, attack or otherwise disrespect my mate and the Queen. We need to show the outside world, hence the fucking bitch to Mira Rose, what happens to those who cross us like that." I agreed of course, but that doesn’t an I liked it.
On our way back I excused myself and went to our room to call my parents. They need to know we mated and marked each other, but they also need to know Mason is dead.
"Hello?" Mom says on the other end, and I sigh.
"Hi mom. Can you guys do a video call?" I ask, nervous for what my dad is going to say when he sees my mate mark. I know he is not the biggest fan of Maze, especially after what happened with Mason and Mira.
"Of course! Is everything okay, sweetheart? You sound a little off." I sigh again.
"Yeah, everything is fine, mom. More than fine actually, but I have to tell you sothing and I have to show you sothing as well." I answer as vaguely as I can. Mom knows better than anyone in the world, and not telling her right away is difficult.
"Okay, I’m in dad’s office now, if you still want to do a video call?!" Mom says, her voice clearly telling she is waiting for the worse news. I hung up with her and called her back with a video request right after. She picks up after the second ring, and her and dad’s faces light up my screen.
"What did he do this ti, baby girl?" Dad asks in a deep voice. His wolf is on edge, and I can’t really bla him. Instead of answering I just move the phone, so they can see my mark. Mom squeals like a teenager, while dad just stares.
"Kiara, was this consensual?" Dad asks, and now he sounds really fucking pissed. I move the phone again so I can look at them, and my face must have said it all because dad lets out a long breath. "I take it from your facial expression that it was. Congratulations, I think." Mom scoffs at him. I just roll my eyes. I was expecting this, but it does disappoint a bit anyway.
"Congratulations, darling! We are very happy for you!" Mom says, and I laugh at the face dad sends her.
"Thanks! I wanted you to know there will be an invite sent soon about my Luna ceremony..."
"And coronation." Maze says, coming in the door and sitting down behind on the bed. He waves at the cara, while kissing my cheek.
"Oh! Hi Maze, honey! Congratulations on marking each other!" Mom says with a big smile. Dad just grunts in greeting, earning a smack on the head from mom. I hide my smile by kissing Maze’s cheek as well, but he can feel my amusent through the bond I’m sure.
"Thank you. Did Kiara tell you we executed Mason this morning?" Maze asks, and I shake my head.
"We hadn’t got to that yet."
"Sorry, angel."
"It’s okay! I was getting there, but soone distracted with questions about my mate mark." Dad grunts again.
"I’ll look for a new Beta to be. And probably a new functioning Beta as well. I’m not sure his dad is going to be thrilled by the news that his son is dead."
"Let know if you need help, uncle. And Kiara and I will co visit you soon as well!"
"We will?" I ask, turning my head to look at my mate. He kisses my nose, nodding.
"Of course! They are family, and I’ll need to et your brother as well. Aunt Sami, would you send us so pictures and updates? I’m sure Kiara misses y’all." Mom nods with tears in her eyes.
"Sure! We miss you too, Kiara. We’ll talk to you soon. Bye honey, bye Maze." Mom says, waving to the cara. Dad waves as well, but he doesn’t say anything. When we hang up, I let out a breath.
"Your father didn’t seem happy." Maze asks, wrapping his arms around . I nuzzle into his embrace, listening to his heartbeat.
"He’s struggling with being mated to you, and everything that has happened. He thought you marked without my consent." Maze snorts.
"Even I would never do such a heinous thing!" He answers, dropping a kiss to my hair. "Are you still up for the shopping trip or would you like to ask my mom to do it?" I shake my head.
"I want to help them, and show the pack we’re doing our duties!" He kissed my hair again.
"Alright, my Queen. I just mind-linked the guys to et us downstairs. Let’s do this." I stay in his arms for another minute before I’m ready to go, and Maze does not rush to get up, which I appreciate.
Downstairs we et up with Jas and Ryan, who are excited for today. We decided last night to bring the Gamma triplets and the Delta’s to make a trip out of it for us ranked mbers as well. Leon and Kristian wanted to stay back and work on so pack stuff, as well as preparing for the surprise we have for the pack this weekend. They were supposed to co with us today, but with everyone that’s coming, we agreed it would be better for the Beta’s to stay ho and work, as we’re going to have a BBQ party for everyone, which is a lot of work. We’re going to join Leon and Kristian when we get ho, but we promised to help Jas and Ryan before we thought of this, and they totally understood.
"Is everyone ready to go?" I ask the group. Jas and Ryan are looking at the Gamma’s and Delta’s with slight apprehension.
"Uhm, Luna, maybe we should just stay ho? We can shop for ourselves another day or sothing." Ryan asks, using my title. I shake my head.
"No! You are my personal assistant, Jas, and you, my dear pack photographer, need to choose your own equipnt!" I shoot him a look and he bows his head. "Oh, and this is Frida and Alastair, our Delta’s. They were out on pack duties yesterday when we talked in Maze’s office." I turn to our Delta’s. "And this is Jas and Ryan we told you about last night." Alastair and Frida shake the guys hands, and then we’re on our way! We drive in two separate cars, knowing we’re going to have a lot with us back ho.
Maze is driving our car, with in the passenger seat and Ryan and Jas in the back. Conversation is flowing so naturally between all of us, and we joke and laugh the whole way! Maze is amazing and not once does he make the guys feel less about themselves or doubt what they are saying. It’s amazing, and I really feel we’re all bonding. It also makes the care ride feel quick, and before I know it we’re parking in front of the big mall.
When everyone is ready, Frida and I lead them inside.
"This is going to be so much fun!" Frida lowkey squeals from beside . She ca to by the cars and took my arm, silently asking to walk together. I was more than happy to, hoping maybe to make a friend. "Where are we going to start?" She asks the group when we’re inside. I look at the others, and see Ryan almost hiding by Jas’s side.
"I think the computer and cara store will be a great start. Then we can put those in the cars, and move on to clothes, shoes and essentials." Frida takes my hint and moves to Ryan and starts asking him all sorts of questions about caras and which one is best in a certain setting. That girl can get a donkey to tell her all their secrets. By the ti we’re at the store, Fridi all but yells.
"Yoo! This dude knows his shit for sure!" And the group collapses in laughter at her outburst.
"Uhm, thank you, Delta." Ryans answers with a deep blush. Frida shakes her head.
"I heard you are on a first na basis with the Alpha and Luna, so it’s just Frida and Alastair. Right honey?" Alastair, who was laughing the loudest, looks like a deer in a headlight when he says;
"Yes, dear." And we all hubble over again at his dutiful answer. The triplets say they won’t answer to anything but their nas either as Alpha and Luna’s friends are theirs as well.
I look at the group of people I have around at this mont, and my heart feels so full. This is a good group! An amazon group to be honest, and we have more at ho who are just as amazing. This is already a good day, and I feel in my entire body this is going to be amazing when we’re done. Everyone is bonding, laughing and joking. People are helping each other and making Ryan and Jas feel so welco! This is a great start, and hopefully it’ll only spread. Our pack is our family, and they will know in ti that their ranked mbers, Alpha and Luna, included are working for them and with them.
