"Lazarus!!!!"
Ronan turned towards the door when he heard Aie’s scream from below. Arielle, who had fallen asleep, was awakened by surprise.
"Ronan?"
"Shh... go back to rest. I will check it."
Ronan pulled back Arielle’s blanket then left the room to see the commotion below. He stood in the middle of the stairs for a mont, watching everyone gather in one place. Lazarus was placing his index finger in front of his lips, begging Aie who was scolding him to keep her voice down.
Kael watched the two of them from the rear, but he made sure that Lazarus didn’t raise his hand to Aie. Irene and William just sat in their places, watching the drama in front of them enthusiastically. William was holding a jar of cookies, while Irene was in the middle of doing her embroidery.
From what Ronan had seen, it seed that Lazarus had done sothing to upset Aie.
"What is it?" asked Ronan, making everyone there look towards the source of the voice.
Aie walked quickly towards Ronan, and Lazarus imdiately grabbed her hand to stop her from complaining to the king. Seeing his sister being pulled roughly, Kael held Lazarus’ hand tighter, making the man groan in pain.
Lazarus’s grip on Aie loosened up, and the woman imdiately approached Ronan.
"Please scold Lazarus. He intended to take Princess Irene on a trip to the port city without an escort. He said there would be a small festival there. He didn’t want or Kael to co along. He only invited Princess Irene and William! What if sothing happens?"
Ronan frowned in confusion. Why did sothing like this cause such a huge commotion?
"Why don’t you want to bring a guard?" asked Ronan to Lazarus who was standing while pouting.
"Because being under surveillance is very unpleasant. I want to take Princess Irene because I heard that she is very curious about the sea."
"Aren’t we going to see the sea tomorrow too? Besides, at night, it will be very cold and very crowded there, so if you want to go out, bring more guards."
Lazarus let go of Kael’s hand. He walked past Aie and pulled Ronan to co up with him. However, Ronan just stood there, feeling confused why this grown man in front of him had to pull him upstairs?
"I need to talk to you for a minute," Lazarus said briefly.
Lazarus imdiately told Aie not to co with him. Then, he asked Ronan again, and finally the man followed his request. Irene and William could only be silent. They didn’t want to interfere.
"Are the two of them going to be okay?" Irene asked in a whisper to William.
"I don’t know. Even though our nas are ntioned, don’t get involved because in the future, if our nas are called again, it’s likely to be used as shields!" William answered while putting another piece of cake into his mouth.
He saw Aie stomping her foot in annoyance. The woman approached Kael. Kael, the awkward man, could only pat his sister’s shoulder without saying a word.
Judging from Aie’s response, it seed the woman wasn’t worried that they would go alone without guards. Besides, who needed guards when Lazarus was also there? Even though William seed to only be engaged in court work, he was a great knight too!
Furthermore, it was also certain that the port city had more guards. There would be many marine troops roaming there. Thus, if Lazarus was there, they would recognize him right away and send help if sothing happened. Also, the city was only thirty minutes away from their current location. If they rode the horse faster, it would only take less than ten minutes.
Aie was just jealous. She didn’t like it when Lazarus didn’t invite her along. That was the result of William’s analysis. He nodded in satisfaction at his deduction.
After a few monts, Ronan and Lazarus finally returned.
"Alright, I’ve decided."
Aie looked back.
", Lazarus, Irene, and William will visit the port city. Aie, you stay here because Arielle is resting. Also, Kael is more trusted to look after Arielle than leaving William here. So, Aie, you don’t have to worry anymore if Lazarus and William will make a fuss. I’ll be there to watch over them," Ronan said, making Lazarus smile with satisfaction behind the king’s back.
"Then Irene, wear your heavy coat. We are going out to visit the port city. William and Lazarus, get ready. Kael, please convey to the guards to provide the horses and a small carriage for Irene."
"I understand, Your Majesty," replied Kael who then left the living room.
Aie had no other choice but to follow Ronan’s decision. The woman called out to Irene to change into warr clothes. Ronan probably wanted his younger sister to get the chance to see all kinds of places, and Lazarus managed to persuade the man.
"Aie, do you think I don’t have to co along? I can accompany you here," said Irene who felt that Aie was in a bad mood after her fight with Lazarus earlier.
"No, it’s fine. You can go. Enjoy your night well and don’t get too tired," Aie said with a smile.
Not long after, Ronan, Irene, William, and Lazarus departed. Right after the four of them left the house, Arielle got up and went downstairs, finding the house looking so empty. Only Kael and Aie sat together without speaking.
"Where is everyone?" asked Arielle with a frown.
"Your Majesty... everyone went to the port city because it was said that there is a night market there."
"Oh... why aren’t you coming along?" Arielle asked confusedly.
"Its fine. I’m just not feeling well after a long journey," Aie replied with a faint smile.
"You’re not feeling well?"
Arielle ca closer to check Aie’s body temperature. Aie, who was embarrassed, was worried that she would be caught lying, so she nudged Kael to help her find an excuse.
"But, now I feel much better after resting well, and this place is also warm," Aie added so Arielle wouldn’t suspect anything.
"Aie, you should take better care of your health. Wait a mont, I’ll make sothing for you."
"What are you going to do?"
Arielle smiled widely and said, "Since you two are here, I want to make sothing. So, please wait patiently!"
