Arielle closed the thick book with mixed feelings. She couldn’t describe what she felt. She turned to Ronan who also looked confused. They spent all night reading the last moir belonging to Princess Cecillia of the Kingdom of Birwick.
Cecilia’s moir only ended in the part where she was learning to be a mother. And on the last five pages was a note from soone claiming to be Miss Poppy.
Miss Poppy wrote down a continuation of Cecillia’s moir from a third point of view which talked about Northendell’s follow-up attack who wanted to get Amadea’s heart that Cecilia brought with her to leave Birwick. Miss Poppy left Northendell, which began to be covered in thick snow with no rays of sun to lt the snow.
She explained that she saw with her own two eyes how terrible the flas were, as well as the last light that Cecillia used. In an instant, everything in that place was turned into a desert. Only a few people survived, including herself.
There was no clear explanation as to who Miss Poppy was, and as far as Arielle and Ronan had read, Miss Poppy’s na had never been ntioned in the moir.
In the last disclair, Miss Poppy only said that she was one of the residents in the village who should have been washed away by the river currents when Cecillia tried to get the elders as well as won and children with Snowdrop to leave the place. Miss Poppy was left in the forest and saw everything.
As the flas from the wolf consud everything, Miss Poppy was left untouched. The wolf only glanced at her and attacked again the troops from Northendell who were trying to take Amadea’s heart from Cecilia.
The last thing Miss Poppy wrote down was that a king with a horrendous face had beco a wolf and his first howl sounded so pitiful. It was too heartbreaking because the man was the only survivor and all the horses and his troops had turned to ashes.
Miss Poppy didn’t write about what happened to the wolf next. She only wrote that she had found Cesillia’s moir behind a pile of the ruins of the village that had turned into ashes. And she planned to continue on looking for Snowdrop’s whereabouts.
She wanted to find the others who were dragged by the river currents, but she ended up finding nothing. She only t the Desert Dragon clan who had migrated out of Birwick ever since they ca into conflict with the Flas Dragon clan.
The Desert Dragon clan knew Cecilia. They were one of Amadea’s followers, which later beca the reason the Flas Dragon clan insulted them because the Desert Dragon clan would rather bow down to a wolf than see ra as the true Guardian of Birwick.
It was because they rembered the many good things Cecillia had done for them. They decided to keep the moir and return it to Amadea’s and Cecilia’s descendants later. The two beings who beca the incarnation of the Sun God and also the Moon Goddess.
Arielle and Ronan had reached the last page. There were no additional notes other than the painting of a woman sitting on a flower adow with her flute and then a giant black wolf resting her head on her lap.
Ronan looked back and saw the sky wasn’t dark anymore. They had not slept since they opened the first page of the book.
"Are you tired? Want to rest?"
Arielle wiped her sweaty forehead. She indeed felt sleepy. Everything written there was like a typhoon that happened so suddenly. Ronan also felt the sa.
He only knew that the first King of Northendell once had a concubine, but there was no record of that concubine. Not even the na of Concubine Leonor was written down in history.
The fairy tale about the first concubine of the king who beca a witch and injured the queen to get the queen’s position had been wrong all this ti, the fairy tale about the king’s concubine who was accused of witchcraft and bewitched the first Prince of Northendell and King Theodore sentenced her to death was also wrong. All kinds of stories that were written down in histories, people’s words, or from Otis were all also wrong.
Nobody knew the actual truth, and this moir had shown what had happened. It had also beco a clue for Arielle to find a way to break the last curse. The way to stop this eternal snow.
Ronan put the book on the table and helped his wife get into the bed. He spread his arms so Arielle could use them as a pillow. With a thick blanket covering both of their bodies, Ronan hugged his wife’s body tightly, sharing warmth on the cold morning.
"Hey, Ronan... do.. you have absolutely no records about Concubine Leonor?" asked Arielle after closing her eyes.
Ronan shook his head. "I don’t have a single idea regarding this second concubine. Even her na isn’t written in history books. I only know that we are descended from Queen Alicia. It said that the king once had a concubine, which later ended in divorce. It is the rarest record I have learned. I’ll probably ask Priest Louise about this to dig deeper."
Arielle nodded in understanding. Her body felt tired. In her head, she imagined how hurt Princess Cecilia must feel to be separated from her mate and daughter.
Snowdrop ... like Otis had said, it was possible that the baby belonging to Amadea and Cecillia, who was carried away by the river current, survived, got pregnant and gave birth to another babies. However, not all the descendants of Amadea and Cecillia had the opportunity to get their powers.
Sotis they just had the sa characteristics without having the powers. So from that Otis also used to say that it was difficult for him to et Arielle’s mother because she didn’t have any power in her body, or maybe her powers had not yet been released.
However, Arielle’s case was different. She was special since she was born, like Princess Cecilia. Arielle had been chosen since she was born to et the other descendants of Amadea.
Not children, but the descendants of people who were given power by Amadea. Amadea had put a tiny bit of his power and consciousness into King Theodre’s body and that way it would be easier for him to et his little Snowdrop again. The descendant of the Moon Goddess, and the descendants of Cecilia.
