I looked at Snowdrop one more ti. She didn’t cry. She simply waved her little hand a few tis and smiled at . Her smile turned into a chuckle. Then, I felt the ground vibrate beneath my feet again.

"Go, hurry! You don’t have much ti! Don’t stop if you don’t want to get killed!"

"But Cecilia! How about Snowdrop? She needs her mother!"

I turned around and smiled. My face was wet with tears. Maybe this was what Amadea felt when he forced Snowdrop and to leave Birwick Mountain. The man had a responsibility that needed to be completed right away, yet he also felt reluctant to part away with us.

"You don’t need to worry. The sun and moon won’t leave her. Her mother and father won’t really be gone until we et our Snowdrop again."

I held the necklace Amadea gave that was hanging around my neck and I smiled, rembering when the man gave it to . My chest felt warm, then I turned to see Amadea smiling at . I would end all of this. I had to stop human greed and break my ties with King Theodore completely. After that, I would et with Amadea to et our little Snowdrop again.

Seeing my determination, Amadea nodded. His brilliant red irises made feel even more certain.

I saw our little Snowdrop for one last ti.

"Snowdrop is the daughter of Amadea, the Guardian of Birwick as well as Cecilia, Princess of the Kingdom of Birwick who was blessed by the Moon Goddess. If you protect her well, then you will be protected by the sun and the moon. No one else can touch you."

"Cecilia!"

I tried to ignore the calls of the won behind who forbade to go. I let out Amadea’s last light. It really felt warm and soothing. I looked back to see the vines behind starting to separate us. It reminded of Amadea’s power that controlled Birwick Mountain.

Even though I was currently far away from Birwick Mountain, I could say that I was able to control this forest when I held Amadea’s light. Then, I glanced at Snowdrop to take one last look before we parted for who knew how long.

Our little princess wasn’t laughing at all like before. Several elderly n started pulling the vines to stop . I couldn’t take this anymore. They had to leave now. I pushed them further away, controlling the vines to keep them away until they fell into the river.

I summoned the greater waves of the river to carry them away without drowning them. The screams for help and the calling of my na continued to resound, and I saw the village head’s daughter hold Snowdrop and lift her high before the water carried them away.

They wouldn’t sink. I didn’t want to hurt them. I just wanted them to leave right away.

After they were out of my sight, I lowered the river water and the vines that held . And not long after, five knights surrounded with their bows aid right at .

I stood straight in the sa place. There was no more fear that enveloped because I knew that Amadea would always be with .

A whole battalion caught up with them. They opened a path in front of and a man who was wearing a black mask appeared. The light in my hand moved, leaving as if it had a will of its own.

In an instant, the ball of light, as bright as a small sun, transford into a wolf made of flas. I initially thought it was Amadea, but I knew the man wasn’t here. There were no red irises as I looked into the wolf’s eyes. There was only a fla that felt scorching hot.

However, I had been trained by Amadea to be able to survive the flas. I touched the wolf-shaped flas, and they burned my hand. No, it didn’t burn . It covered my hand with warm flas like Amadea’s hug.

"Cecillia," King Theodore called, and I looked forward.

The man was still on his horse.

"Return to Northendell, then I’ll let you go with your illegitimate children."

"What do you an, Your Majesty? I don’t understand."

I could hear his growl.

"Don’t brag anymore. I’m tired of all this. I’m sure you’ve done sothing with that man, right? You have hurt many innocent people."

I really didn’t understand what this man was saying. What did he an by hurting innocent people?

"What do you an by hurting innocent people? Shouldn’t I be the one asking that? Why are you hurting the innocent creatures of Birwick? You have co uninvited, ssing up a place my husband is hard to protect and-"

"I AM YOUR HUSBAND, YOU UNGRATEFUL WOMAN!"

I was speechless. I... was so surprised by his scream just now. I had often heard King Theodore’s screams. The man often yelled at a lot of people, but not at . Never. And this was also the first ti he cursed at .

"But I didn’t do anything. I just wanted to have a free life away from greedy people."

"You don’t know what you’re doing? You two-faced woman! Why have I never seen this before? Behind that innocent and beautiful face of yours, you really are terrible. Far more detestable than the nobles I’ve always hated. You’re manipulative, greedy, and selfish. You deserve all the worst. You know, I’m not going to kill you. I will drag you back to Northendell, slicing you up one by one, and using every drop of your blood to heal my people you have made miserable."

"But I didn’t do anything!"

"You’ve made Northendell lose its sun!"

I shook my head. I still didn’t understand what the man ant. Until the flas of the wolf beside moved and stopped in front of .

"Ah... is this what Amadea’s heart ans?" Hah... that little dog that tried to bark. Guardian of Birwick? I only saw a pitiful little dog."

I wanted to stop him. I couldn’t bear to hear King Theodore constantly insulting my husband. I wanted to stop that mouth.

"Stop... don’t speak anymore..."

"Why? You don’t want to say bad things about that jerk? Huh, my little kitty has started showing her claws, eh? Then, what did you think when I told you that my hand managed to chop off your parents’ heads? I even killed that bastard who was said to be the Guardian of Birwick Mountain!"

What did he say? Who had he killed? No... no way... that could be happening...

The mory of my parents’ laughing faces ca back to haunt . Amadea’s smile was also playing on my head. I hadn’t heard the man’s voice in my head in a long ti. I knew this was bound to happen, but hearing it like this felt so suffocating.

I was having a hard ti breathing. I saw King Theodore laughing out loud on his horse. Then, I looked into the horse’s eyes sharply and imdiately the horse neighed and crashed into the other troops. The flas wolf also lunged at. I used vines to blow away all the weapons the knights were holding.

"Theodore.. I hope you die," I growled furiously.

My head felt like it was going to explode. Every trail that the wolf trodden left a trace of scorching flas.

"Cecillia, you damn woman! Give Amadea’s heart back to !" shouted King Theodore behind the blazing fire.

"Give it back you say?! Then, what about you? RETURNS AMADEA TO !" I shouted in frustration.

The flas were getting big, and my eyes began to blur with tears. I couldn’t. This couldn’t end peacefully. I wanted to kill him. I wanted to avenge everything. I had known him for a long ti. My hands itched like I wanted to strangle soone. And when the troops approached , I stabbed one of them with bigger and sharper vines and his blood splashed on my face.

It wasn’t enough. I needed sothing more to kill them. If I killed them all, then there wouldn’t be any greedy people left. I kept moving my hand towards the Northendeel troops. The flas wolf also didn’t stop attacking and setting flas in the forest.

I didn’t see King Theodore’s whereabouts. I thought I would only be satisfied if I killed him. The one who had taken everything from . If I hadn’t been to Northendell to be his concubine, maybe I could have spent my ti a bit longer with Amadea. Maybe I could et Snowdrop for a bit longer too. Maybe right now, Amadea and Snowdrop were having dinner with my parents.

If ... if that night I let Mirai replace , if I chose to be his queen and killed him when King Theodore was asleep, if I could be braver to express my feelings, if ... if ...

If ...

STAB!

I widened my eyes in surprise. A sword stuck right in my chest. I saw a man whose clothes were half burnt coming through the wall of flas. His mask had fallen off, revealing deep wounds in his eyes. Was that because of my stab?

"You bish, give Amadea’s heart..."

I reached out my hand and touched his scarred face. I closed my eyes to recognize every side of his face. Yes... he was the sa King Theodore. I opened my eyes again and saw the wound on my chest was bleeding profusely.

The flas wolf returned and turned into a man with a body full of flas. He hugged from behind. He then touched Theodore’s hand, which was still holding his sword that was stuck in my chest.

Then, I saw sothing appear in his hand. It was the seal of the agreent. Amadea once showed it to . It showed that he was bound to guard Birwick Mountain in exchange for the power bestowed by the Sun God.

"What is this?! Get your hand off ! Release imdiately!" shouted King Theodre who sounded panicked.

On his neck began to grow dense fur like a wolf

I smiled crookedly.

"You want Amadea’s heart? Then try to take it from ."

I really felt happy at the end of my life. I listened to the panicked screams of the man I hated while being embraced by the warmth of Amadea’s flas. I looked up and saw the human-shaped fire once again.

"We just have to wait to et Snowdrop, right?" I asked.

The flas nodded, and a dazzling light burned everything in an instant. Trees turned to ash, rocks turned to ash, and everything was covered in red. Nothing was left but piles of hot ashes.

I couldn’t stand this heat. This wasn’t Amadea’s power. Yet, I kept smiling because I knew my body would disappear to ashes, but I would always be with Amadea for all eternity.
