Near the end of evening, a carriage was pulled over in front of the castle of Davina. It was long journey ahead and when Jessie landed her footstep on the ground, it was already dark outside. Except her two personal guards, there was none to welco her in the castle. Jessie was expecting it already.
How could she attain respect from her ex’s castle?
Jessie looked over and finding no one else to welco them, she started walking on her own to pass the main entrance. A butler appeared on the doorway as soon as she walked inside with her head high like a proud woman. The butler was courteous to her, speaking very respectfully,
" Princess Jessie! It’s such an honor for us! Please follow this way!"
" Where is Prince Shanz?", Jessie blurted without having any hostility in her tone. She wanted to finish this trial as early as possible. Staying with him could emotionally break her again.
The butler kept his head bowing when opened his mouth to answer her,
" That..he is actually.."
" You don’t have to afraid her so much, Butler. She is just a guest here.", a voice ca from the stairs, followed by heavy footsteps. Jessie looked up to find Shanz, coming through the stairs. Dressed in night robe, a big portion of his massive chest was highlighted. He seed fresh and showered as the droplets on his hair didn’t fade away. Jessie felt her chest tightening in discomfort after thinking sothing.
Was he bedding another girl again like that day?
Shanz stopped in front of Jessie, smiling before adding in a rude voice,
" Princess Jessie has arrived to give her trail, butler. She doesn’t need that much respect. More likely, she is prisoner to Davina, today."
Jessie clenched her fists tightly. Her fingers digging deep through her skin in rage as she stared up at him with hatred. The butler looked taken back by the stiff atmosphere that they shared all of sudden.
Jessie curled up her lips slightly, agreeing without showing any wrath on her face,
" That’s right! Please call the people of your kingdom to start the trail because it’s suffocating here to share the sa breath with toxic people."
Shanz’s expression turned ashen as he looked behind her guards to order,
" Leave us alone! No one is allowed to stay with her. She has co to give her trail, not for so random visits."
Despite Shanz’s order, the guards didn’t move away and waited for Jessie’s order that ca shortly after that in a cold voice,
" You two can wait outside. I wish to finish it soon. I don’t want to stay longer here."
The guards bowed at their princess respectively before taking their leaves hurriedly. After they were gone, Jessie shot a piercing glare at his butler to spat angrily,
" I also don’t want any servant of yours here when I face the trail."
Speechlessly, Shanz gestured at his butler to leave the hallway which was compelled quickly. Only after they were left alone, the tense atmosphere turned double fold. After they were done pulling each others leg, Shanz had his own ti to look after the woman who appeared in his dream countless tis.
She had beco Skinner than the last ti that they t in that guest house. But he must admit that her beauty never dissapared from her face. Jessie liked to be dressed up whenever she made her princess appearance. She believed that a dressing style was necessary as Royal. It gave others to feel the power of royalty. Hence, even though she was here to face a trail, she took care of her looks. Wearing a pair of green earrings, her lavender gown was looking so perfect at her body. The elegancy of her body was outshined. Even from far ahead, she was shining like star.
Shanz didn’t break his eye contact from her for a long ti. No matter how much hatred they shared, he was returned to those better days with her whenever he looked into her eyes. Out of trance, his one hand lifted up to touch her skin as if he was ensuring that she was real.
Jessie’s eyes followed the action of his hand. Her heart accelerated faster to anticipate his touch on her skin. It had been a long ti that she felt his familiar gentle touch which was so live in her mory that she could still feel those sensitive nerves. Her startled voice ca out when he was only an inch away from touching her cheeks,
" Prince Shanz!"
Snapping back to reality, Shanz glanced at her stiff expression and realized his own mistake. She wasn’t his anymore that he could touch whenever he wants. To keep his pride on tiptoe, he touched the back of her head to murmur sothing,
" You..had..so..dirt..there.."
He tugged on her hairs slightly before taking back his hand. Without eting her questioning eyes, Shanz turned around to walk for the table. Jessie’s impatient voice echoed behind his back,
" Where are those people? Tell them to co first! I have to go back ho fast. Sister Isabella isn’t also here. The faster I can leave, it’s better for ."
" Drink??", Shanz raised a glass nonchalantly as if he did hear nothing of her words. Stopping midway, Jessie opened and closed her mouth to say sothing. She humd before walking over to take the glass from his hand. Shanz’s eyes followed her fingers and there, he saw the ring again.
Jessie took several steps back after getting her drink and looked away to avoid his direct eyes. She felt sothing off about his stares which made her nervous. Looking around to kill her tis until the people arrive, Jessie had a tough ti facing him this close with this thumping heart.
Shanz took a sip from his own drink before speaking and approaching her slowly,
" Why did I never know that you believed in our engagent so badly, Jes?"
