"Do you need sothing from ?" Luke imagined a poker face.

"If I'm not mistaken, you just detained two people. It's a misunderstanding. They're my subordinates. If they've offended you, I apologize."

"This isn't about an apology. I need a reason. Why are Departnt of Holand Security people following ?"

"We're not following you; we're protecting you." Dansri Cobbs sighed and explained, "This afternoon, the terrorists released a new threat video. In the video, they ntioned you. I'm worried they might retaliate against you, so I arranged for soone to protect you in secret."

Luke laughed, "Since when does the LAPD need the Departnt of Holand Security for protection?

We t this afternoon, and I even asked you if the terrorists might retaliate. Why didn't you tell then?"

"Only people from the Departnt of Holand Security know about that threat video. I couldn't easily disclose it to outsiders. Besides, I hinted to you."

"Thank you." Luke hung up the phone.

He then told the four patrol officers, "Guys, take these two imposters back to the station. Thank you for your hard work."

The white man and the black man exchanged a glance, sowhat bewildered. They thought Luke would release them after the call, but they were still being taken back to the station. They were really from the Departnt of Holand Security; they'd be a laughing stock if captured by patrol officers.

"Captain Lee, we really are from the Departnt of Holand Security."

"Sorry, I haven't seen much, never seen a Holand Security ID. If you are indeed from Holand Security, call your departnt head to co and get you."

"Guys, let's et at the bar another day. Drinks on ." Luke waved to the patrol officers, got in the car, and left.

Nami Inoue reminded him, "Captain Lee, I think they probably are from the Departnt of Holand Security."

Luke glanced at her, "I know."

"Then why did you still take them back to the station?"

"To give them a warning. Let them know whose turf Los Angeles is." After saying that, Luke tossed a Detection Card to Nami Inoue.

After all, they hadn't known each other for long, and he didn't really trust her, especially when discussing sensitive topics. What if recorded? He'd be the fool.

Nami Inoue nodded, "Right, they indeed went too far. This concerns your safety; they should've inford you."

Luke saw more than that. The fact that Dansri Cobbs could call him so quickly showed he must've dispatched others to track him. There should be other Departnt of Holand Security people nearby. These people tracking him were actually protecting him.

If terrorists dared attack him, these people would intervene and capture the terrorists, leading them to the mastermind behind the scenes.

Dansri Cobbs hadn't explained it all to Luke for two possible reasons: First, fearing he'd spill the info; Second, worried he'll take action knowing the truth, causing terrorists to beco suspicious and run.

In the end, it still ca down to not trusting Luke.

In fact, when Luke dealt with ordinary suspects, he also had this kind of distrust, a professional disdain for non-professionals, which he really disliked.

Luke had no mood for the restaurant, chatted with Nami Inoue in the car for a while, and then dropped her off at her community residence.

Luke looked out the window, "Is this your ho?"

Nami Inoue got out of the car, "Yes, thank you for driving back."

"If anything happens, you can call ."

"Hearing that makes feel very safe."

"Thanks for informing about the threat video promptly. Stay in touch." Luke finished and drove away.

After leaving Nami Inoue's community, Luke called Reid, informing him about the potential terrorist retaliation, asking him to assign officers to protect his family.

As for his own safety, Luke wasn't too worried and thought the chance of terrorists targeting him was slim.

Initially, if terrorists wanted to retaliate against him, there was no need to ntion it in a threat video. Secondly, the Departnt of Holand Security knew about the matter and would send soone to track and protect him. Even if terrorists attempted an attack, the success rate would be low.

To Luke, the terrorists seed like they were using diversion tactics to cover their next attack. Luke instinctively speculated where and what new target the terrorists might strike next.

He pondered for a bit, then felt uninterested. Since he was no longer investigating the case, unless it involved personal or familial safety, why go beyond his duties?

Luke thought to himself, realizing he's not only LAPD but also an FBI investigative consultant.

FBI was still investigating the terrorist case.

Since Luke knew the new clues, he felt it necessary to inform them.

Luke called Lynn Brouss, informing her about the threat video and the likelihood of a new terror attack.

After doing all this, Luke returned ho, thoroughly checking inside and out of the house.

At that mont, he thought he should get a dog for alerts at critical tis.

With a guard at night, he could sleep soundly.

...

The next morning.

At the ho of Jordan Reddy, the adulterer.

After breakfast, Jordan Reddy held his girlfriend's hand across the table, "Hey babe, thanks for the loving breakfast, I'm super satisfied."

The girlfriend tilted her head, asking, "Are you going to work today?"

"Yes, I have a class today. I'll tidy up and head out. What do you want for dinner? I'll bring it back for you."

The girlfriend looked worried, "Honey, can you not go to school?"

"What's wrong? Is there sothing?"

"Ever since those two officers ca over, I've been worried. Don't you still have leave? Why don't we go on a trip?"

"Babe, I'd love to go on a trip with you, but I have to get through this busy period first. Don't worry, Tapani Reagan is dead, no one will harm anymore, the matter has passed."

The girlfriend frowned, "But I'm still uneasy."

"Relax, I promise you, once I get through these days and arrange everything, we'll go on a trip.

During this ti, you can plan the trip."

Jordan Reddy glanced at his watch, "I have to go, or I'll be late."

The girlfriend remained reluctant, and Jordan Reddy kissed her cheek, then drove to Steven Community College.

Jordan Reddy parked his car in the college parking lot and hurried to the classroom.

Along the way, he greeted familiar students and teachers.

He really liked this job, where he'd have a stable inco and earn respect.

The classroom was located on the third floor, east side.

Jordan Reddy opened the door and entered the classroom.

The classroom was huge, with the first two rows empty. Most students sat in the back, about thirty to forty people.

"Good morning, Mr. Jordan Reddy." The students greeted proactively.

"Good morning, everyone.

I rember saying I like you to sit forward, co on." Jordan Reddy gestured for the students to move to the front.

Gradually, so students got up and moved to the front rows.

"Good, let's start taking attendance." Jordan Reddy appeared satisfied.

At this mont, a male student wearing a headscarf stood up, turned around, seeming to head to the back rows.

Jordan Reddy stopped him, "The student with the headscarf, I don't recall seeing you before."

"Sorry, I entered the wrong class." The male with the headscarf quickly headed to the back door and left the classroom.

Jordan Reddy frowned, noticing a black suitcase left where the headscarfed student had been sitting.

"Hey, student, you forgot sothing here."

Jordan Reddy approached, picked up the suitcase, intending to catch up and return it.

However, after a few steps, red smoke began to emit from the suitcase, rapidly spreading...
